National High Five Day takes place on the third Thursday of each April and is as simple as it sounds -- a holiday about giving high fives and spreading good vibes.

Founded in 2002, National High Five Day was started at the University of Virginia when a group of students on the main quad of the campus gave out high fives all day.

Since then, it has been celebrated by countless brands and individuals:

And for the last 3 years, National High Five Day has been sponsored by companies that make generous donations to our charity partner CoachArt.

About CoachArtSince 2001, CoachArt has provided free arts and athletic lessons to families impacted by childhood chronic illness. Our vision is that one day every family impacted by childhood chronic illness will be connected to a community of support and an opportunity to learn and grow together.

For the last 3 years, National High Five Day’s sponsors have made a generous $5 donation to CoachArt for every like and share of our O�cial National High Five Day “Virtual High Five.”

The 2019 O�cial National High Five Day “Virtual High Five” featured the logo and handle of our sponsor, Highfive video conferencing software, and achieved virality on all 3 platforms that we posted it --

Our sponsor received nearly 1 million impressions of their charitable contribution on the “Virtual High Five” alone, in addition to impressions from mentions on the National High Five Day website, in articles and blogs promoting the partnership, etc.

In 2020, National High Five Day is looking to bring on additional sponsors who will make a charitable donation to this great cause and receive significant awareness of that donation.

With new, concentrated PR and marketing e�orts, our goal for 2020 is to achieve 5M impressions for each of our charitable partners for their donations.
