2019 Leaders Congratulations to the following students who were elected to be a part of the Inverell Public School Leadership team in 2019- School Captains– Sophie Greentree and Liam Snaith Vice Captains- Charlie Wall and Bridie Hall Citizenship Captains – Benjamin Steinhardt, Klancy Rogan, James Rushby and Charlotte Dunlop Indigenous Leaders– Allirah Smith and John Bailey Further Leadership roles will be finalised later this week. Year 6 Farewell The Year 6 Farewell will be held in the school hall next Thursday, 13th December from 5.30- 7pm. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the cutting of the cake and the certificate presentation at 6.30pm. We wish all of the Year 6 students the best in the next chapter of their education at High School. Presentation Night Inverell Public School Presentation Night will be held in the school hall at 6.15pm next Tuesday, 11th December. Students who are receiving an award are asked to wear full summer school uniform including black school shoes. Students’ hair must be tidy and clean, and girls are asked to tie long hair back neatly with red or white hair accessories. Parents, carers and family members are invited to attend. Congratulations to all students who are receiving an award for 2018. It is anticipated that the evening will conclude at approximately 8pm. Swim School Continues Don’t forget to bring a towel, a plastic bag for wet gear, hat, water bottle and a water resistant sunscreen. Parents are asked to pack extra food for their children over the next 2 weeks as the extra exercise (swimming) makes growing students extra hungry! Thank you to everyone who donated to the Movember, men’s mental health fundraiser. Students and staff came to school with crazy hair styles and some teachers were willing to shave or have their hair coloured for the cause. Over $500.00 dollars was raised.

Library News As the end of the year is fast approaching there will be no more borrowing from the Library. Please return all Library books to school for stocktake.

Year 5/6 Sports Tournament Year 5 and 6 Sport have been learning about competition and improving skills in softball, cricket, soccer and basketball. The winners were “The Athletes” who received icy poles for their achievement. Over the duration of the tournament, students also received icy poles for the “best and fairest” players.
