EVENT RULES

SPECTATOR TRAFFIC

The race will commence under neutral conditions (30km/h) until the 100km speed sign on the Gwydir Highway out of Grafton. Riders must remain behind the rear of the Race Directors vehicle under the direction of the police. The Race Director will signal the start of racing.

Riders are to remain in the left lane during the race. Even though the road is closed for a large section of the course, provisions must be made for the safe passage of event vehicles under the direction of the police. This includes official vehicles in the event convoy and rider support vehicles. Riders will be penalised for crossing the centre line. Rider feeding by supporters will only be permitted at the designated feed stations. Riders cannot be fed from moving vehicles at any time.

Riders who fall behind the rear police escort vehicle for their division will be outside the police controlled zone. They are then required to follow the road rules and remain aware of vehicles at all times.

A sag wagon (bus) will be located behind the last rider on the road. The sag wagon will be travelling at a pre-determined pace at an average of 24km/hr. It is required to be at certain check points each hour. If a rider falls behind the sag wagon, the race number and transponder must be surrendered to the sag wagon official and the rider must exit the race.

The event will abide by the CA Technical Regulations under the direction of race officials. Officials will be on course during the event. Riders must be familiar with the rules for road racing events and follow the instructions of officials and event marshalls at all times. Non-compliance will result in a penalty and/or disqualification.

No spectator traffic is permitted in the race convoys or allowed to follow cyclists at any stage of the race. All oncoming and forward traffic movement will be controlled by the NSW Police escorts within the convoys. Parking at the summit of the Gibraltar Range is reserved for Commissaires, Judges, Media and Police.

HANDLERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO STOP ANYWHERE ALONG THE RACE ROUTE OTHER THAN DESIGNATED FEED STATIONS.

ALL CORNERS ON THE COURSE MUST BE TREATED WITH CAUTION

THIS CONDITION HAS BEEN IMPOSED BY NSW POLICE IN RELATION TO RISK MANAGEMENT CONCERNS WITH
