PRINCIPAL’S NEWS WE ARE THINKING OF YOU As you would be aware, a number of our families in the school community have been affected by tragic events that have occurred in the past week. The staff, students and wider school community pass on condolences and the school offers support to all who have been touched by these events. If any child or family member is in need of additional support, please make contact with the school. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. SCHOOL SWIMMING Our K-2 students have been enjoying their swimming lessons and have been learning a lot. This is a vital skill for all of our children to have. Please make sure you take advantage of other local opportunities over the summer months to ensure your children are safe around the water. PBL DURING WATER ACTIVITIES This week, our focus has been on what Respect, Safety and Persistence look like at the pool. It is important to make sure that you are following these values when at the local pool and even at the river. Make safe decisions, ensure an adult is present and also make sure you are acting in a respectful manner by using your manners and considering the other people who are using the facilities. It is most important that we all have an opportunity to take advantage of the wonderful local facilities that we have. Y-PEP All children will be participating in these Child Protection lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. These lessons are an important part of our school curriculum and it is a wonderful opportunity for our students to have the support of these trained facilitators. BOOK FAIR Due the great success of our last Book Fair, we have been able to receive a special deal through Scholastics – Buy One Get, One Free. With every book purchased, students can choose a second book for the same price or less for free. The fair will be open for viewing/purchasing during the following times: Tuesday 6th November – 9:00-9:20am / 3:30-4:00pm Wednesday 7th November – 9:00-9:20am / 3:40-4:00pm Thursday 8th November – 9:00-10:00am UNIFORM ORDERS Please place orders for uniforms by Friday 9th November (especially if you require them for Presentation Evening).
