End of Year Presentation Assembly We are reaffirming for all parents that our annual presentation assembly will be on Thursday 11 December at the RSL club auditorium commencing at 6:30 pm. (Please note time!) There will be a few changes to the program for this year and there is an expectation that all students will attend. This year, parents will not be notified if their child is receiving an award. These will be kept anonymous until the night. Students completing their first year of school (kindergarten) will receive a special award and the Year 6 graduation certificates will also be presented. Awards will be presented for class achievement and the whole school awards will also be presented. As indicated in previous newsletters, this assembly is a very important event on our school calendar and parental and community support in promoting, endorsing and validating, through attendance, is greatly appreciated. Assemblies A special invitation is extended to the families of students in 1/2JE to attend this week’s assembly on Friday, as this class will be presenting their poem. Our assembly commences at 9.00am in the Bradley Hall. 2015 Kinder Orientation Our 2015 kinder orientation got off to a great start last Thursday and the next session will be on his coming Thursday. Special thanks to Mr Day for coordinating transition activities, Mrs Evans for meeting with parents and Felicity Michael for representing the P&C. Thursday Afternoon Last Thursday, the majority of our teaching, administrative and support staff attended the funeral service of previous colleague, Robert Armytage. To assist in ensuring supervision of all students, Deniliquin South Primary School is thanked for allowing 2 teachers to spend the afternoon at Edward. As well, we had over a dozen primary school principals, from all over the Deniliquin network, come to assist. Meeting locally with Director, Ms Kempton, the principals agreed to postpone their meeting for the time needed to assist with supervision at our school. This was an extremely generous gesture which was hugely appreciated by all EPS staff. When staff from departmental schools can pull together and support each other in difficult times, it sends a strong message of collegiality and care. 2015 Fete - We are having a meeting THIS THURSDAY at 3.10 in the library to see if we have enough support to hold the FETE

again next year. We are hoping to hold it at the end of Term 1- when everyone is feeling enthusiastic and no other events of its sort

are on. The FETE is a great community event- but it does need lots of helpers. Please come along o this meeting if you would like

to see the return of the fete in 2015. If you are keen to help, but not able to make it on Thursday, please let Felicity know on

0488054356.

November P&C Meeting -This month’s meeting was focused on ideas for fundraising in 2015. The basic plan we came up with

was:

Term1- -Student Disco

-Fete- maybe just before Easter

Term 2- -ANZAC Race Gate

-Tea towels & High Tea for Mother’s Day

-Cookbook organisation starts

Term 3 -Chocolates

-Father’s Day breakfast

-Cookbook sales (deliver for Christmas)

Term 4 -Caulfield Cup Race Gate

-Family Photos (for Christmas?)

-Student disco

We are going to be looking for people to coordinate each of these events, as well as helpers. Next year you will be asked to give an

indication of how you can help the P&C.

New school tents- the shade shelters used at carnivals, etc., are in need of repair. To help pay for their replacement, the P&C is

looking for businesses to sponsor them. For $250, businesses can have their name on a side panel of a tent. The last tents have last-

ed for over ten years and are seen by hundreds of people each time they are used. This represents great value for advertising money.

Letters will be sent out shortly to businesses associated with the school. If you are interested in sponsoring a tent, please contact

Felicity 0488054356.

Last P&C meeting of 2014- Tuesday 2nd December at 7pm at the RSL. To celebrate a busy and successful year, the last meeting of

the P&C will be held at the RSL. It will be a very short meeting, followed by dinner. All Welcome!! Please RSVP to Felicity

0488054356 for catering purposes.
