Attitude to School Survey (ATSS) All students in Years 5 and 6 completed a state wide survey today from the Department of Education and Training (DET) called the Attitudes to School Survey. This survey aims to measure students feelings whilst at school, with a particular focus on their wellbeing & safety, their levels of connectedness to their peers/school as well as their engagement with their learning. In term 3 we will receive a report from DET which will show how students at Tootgarook feel in comparison to all other schools in Victoria. Empowering our senior students to have a ‘voice’ at school is an important focus for our school and to this end we do analyse this feedback closely and modify our programs accordingly. I will share an overview of these results in the newsletter as they become available.

Prep B – Mrs Bos – Harper Elder – for the beautiful illustrations, colouring and neat handwriting she does in all her work.

Prep R – Mrs Read – Connor Clarke – for sitting quietly during assembly last week. Well done Connor.

1H – Mrs Hughes – Leah Bailey-Veith – for trying so hard to listen, follow instructions and play nicely. Keep it up Leah!

1P – Miss Perkins – Angela Krtalic – Angela’s enthusiasm for all things related to school are amazing. She is a help to all her classmates and teachers. She always does her best. Well done Angela.

2B – Mrs Baird – Connor Hojby – Connor is impressing the class with his improved self-control and his more positive attitude.

2J - Mrs Johnstone – Hazel Read – for fantastic achievements in Literacy. Hazel really works on all set focuses and writes amazing procedural texts.

3A – Miss Arnold – Dee-Jay Watkins – for trying really hard during learning tasks and improving with his homework each week. Keep up the good work. Dee-Jay!

3W – Ms Walton – Taj Smale – for the outstanding effort he puts into all learning tasks and his positive contribution to class discussions. Keep up the great work.

4S – Miss Staley + Miss McGhee - Congratulations Shelby Legh - for being a fantastic computer room monitor. The SLC appreciates the wonderful job you do! Keep up the amazing work!

5Q – Miss Quintin – Well Done Logan Coleman- Your presentation to our grade about the Melbourne Star was very informative. I can see how hard you worked to construct your model and complete your Powerpoint presentation to a very high standard. Fantastic effort Logan!

6W – Miss Withers - Sophie Hollis - For being a great role model and showing a willingness to help others. Sophie displays integrity in her work and completed an excellent replica of the Melbourne Star. Well done Sophie keep up the good work.

Art / Craft – Miss Davey - Bailey German - 5Q - For completing a detailed and well executed design of a dragon. Well done Bailey your hard work is really paying off!

Music - Mrs Young – Sophie Holliss – 6T – for your fantastic attitude towards all work you are doing in Music. Especially with the flute both teaching and improving your own skills – GREAT WORK!!!

YOU ARE INVITED SCHOLASTIC BOOKFAIR Bookfair will open in the library after school on Friday May 8

th and continue before and

after school until Thursday May 14th

This fundraiser for our library is a great opportunity to purchase books and novelty

items, often at greatly reduced prices.

Purchase a book and go into the draw to win a prizes.

Last Saturday

approximately 30 of our

students and parents

braved the wet weather

and represented our

school at the annual

Anzac Day march and

service in Rye. On

behalf of our school

community, our school

captains, Obelia Wycisk

and Harrison Read, laid

a beautiful gold and

green wreath recognising

the sacrifices made by

Australian men and women during past and present conflicts. Thank you to our students and their

families for their support on this important day.

Congratulations to our school on winning third place in the

CASH FOR CLASSROOMS Campaign run by The Rosebud Plaza.

Host Families Needed For New Exchange

Students in 2015

Many girls and boys aged between 15 and

18 from exciting countries like Italy,

France, Belgium, Germany, Holland,

Switzerland, Brazil, Norway, Sweden,

Japan, Finland, Canada and Austria are

hoping to come here to study for 3, 5 or

10 months from July this year and stay

with a volunteer family that is willing to

host and welcome them and can afford

another member at the family table. If

you feel you could do this for them for the

length of their stay or even some of it,
