Our Vision Statement: 754 Primary School will maximise opportunities for its students to be resilient learners in an ever changing world. The Values of 754 revolve around: Resilience, Responsibility and Respect. Our whole school approach of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support, is the Framework to support these values. NewsletterWeek7Term2 Hello everyone, As we close in on winter (Friday June 1st), the mornings are becoming very fresh. It is good to see that most students are wearing appropriate clothing, this includes beanies. However the school has worked very hard to get a whole school uniform established. Last week it was passed by School Council that either black or green beanies with no logo or advertising for a corporation would be an addition to the school uniform. These beanies can be purchased locally or through the school. We will have a limited number tomorrow for $4.00. Students will be asked to remove non-school beanies from Monday 4 th of June. Last week the grade 4 students and this week the grade 5/6 students completed the first of the annual surveys that schools need to complete, the Attitudes to School Survey. This survey asks students in these classes about their teachers, how they learn best, do they have a voice in the classroom and about their safety at school. We will receive these results next term and will share it with the 3 grade levels to continually improve the culture of the school going forward. The next survey will be the parent survey. This will occur next term when a percentage of families will be randomly selected an asked to return the survey about their child's teacher and the culture of the school. The final survey is the staff opinion survey. All these surveys go to making the school a better place to learn and teach for the whole community. On Friday we are having a footy colours out of uniform day to raise money for the Salvos. The Salvos do a wonderful job around our community supporting a range of people who need assistance in various ways. The Salvation Army also run our Breakfast Club program at the school on Monday and Thursday mornings from 8.00am for anyone who would like a bit more to eat. Once a term the Salvos also host a hot Community Breakfast at our school. We are hoping to see everyone in their footy, netball, soccer, rugby, etc. colours on Friday, with a gold coin donation that will be donated to the Salvation Army at Mondays Assembly. Just a reminder to parents that Tuesday 12 th of June is a student free day as teachers will be finalising reports at school. This is a very busy time for teachers who spent hours and hours writing the reports to best inform you of your child’s progress. Please be aware that it is the Tuesday following the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. There is never an occasion when violence is an acceptable behaviour. School Absences: Parents/Carers, please remember to call the school by 9.00am if your child/children are going to be absent this will enable us to mark them accordingly on the roll and save you a phone call from our attendance officer. Sovereign Hill Camp This year our grade 5/6 students have the opportunity to attend Sovereign Hill as part of their camp program. This camp will take place in Term 3 from Monday 30th July to Wednesday 1st August. The cost for the camp is $360.00 and must be paid in full prior to your child leaving on camp. Notes have gone home asking for your expression of interest. If your child will not be attending camp please return the form and circle the section that says “Will Not” be attending camp. We will need this information when the time comes to book transport etc. Student Free Day: Monday 11th June is the Queens Birthday Public Holiday on Tuesday 12th June students will not be required at school due to Report Writing Day. Out of Uniform Day: On Friday 1st June out school will be holding a “Footy Colours” Out Of Uniform Day, we are asking for a gold coin donation from each child who comes to school out of uniform on this day. Cans for the Community: Cans for the community is an initiative run by the Bairnsdale Secondary College Alpine Students. Over a one week period they are aiming to raise 2,018 cans, toiletries or long lasting food items for the less fortunate. ***This has now been extended until June 28th so if you can help out with donations please deliver them to office where we have a special collection bin set up***.

Canteen: Dear Parents/Carers just a brief reminder to say that our canteen is open from Tuesday to Friday each week. There is a current menu attached to this newsletter or alternatively you can find one on our Facebook Page or our Bairnsdale Primary School website. All items that were previously classed as specials and only ordered on certain days like (Nacho’s on Thursday's) can now be ordered every day. Library News: We have a large number of students with overdue library books. Notes have gone with students

listing their overdue books, could you please follow this up with your child/children. Overdue books not returned will incur a $10.00 lost fee and your child will be unable to borrow books until the fee is paid or books have been returned. Please have your child look under beds, behind couches or the back seat of the car to try and locate their missing books. Thank you - Library Team

School Uniform: Just a reminder to families/children that our school uniform policy asks for “plain black pants, black tracksuit pants or black shorts”. Some children have started wearing black pants with writing or prints on them, this is not a part of our uniform policy. Please ensure your children are wearing the correct uniform to school each day. Thank you
