De la Seora:This week was all about fall. We
had a different fall theme each day and
worked on our fall booklet in writing.
The class is doing well with the
dictated sentences and also in creating
a few sentences of their own! Perhaps
the highlight was today in experiencingpumpkins. We did pumpkin explorations
to count seeds and lines on the pumpkin,
and also guess whether the pumpkin
would float or not. We practiced
predicting and then revising our
answers. They also got to decorate
their pumpkins as a table group.
Thanks too to our special reader
to celebrate our star of the week! Theclass loved having Mr. McCarty come in
and read.

This coming week we will begin our Language Arts curriculum,
Tesoros. Spelling words come from the letter and syllablecombinations we are studying for the week as well as sight
words. This coming week will be m and p combinations.
When children learn to read Spanish they focus on syllable
chunks rather than separate letters.
ma (mah) me (may) mi (me) mo (moe) mu (moo)
pa (pah) pe (pay) pi (pee) po (poh) pu (poo)
You can now find on my wiki a recording of me pronouncing the words to
help your child practice spelling each one.
