Dream TeamMrs. Taylor Mrs. Henderson

My name is Jessie and I am so excited to able to fulfill my lifelong dream of being an elementary PE teacher!! This will be my 8th year in education- I am coming from the middle school level where I taught 7th and 8th grade Health and PE.

I was born in raised in St. Louis. I’ve been married to my husband Will for 5 years and we have a sweet and sassy two year old daughter, Austyn. We have two fur babies- a black lab (Jackson) and a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Dachshund mix (Reece). I love spending time with my little family, drinking coffee, being outdoors, gardening, reading, traveling, decorating, and crafting. I am looking forward to meeting y’all soon!

I am Christie Henderson, the Math Support Specialist at Bellerive next year. I am so excited to be a part of the Bellerive community. I grew up in the St. Louis area and went to Rockwood School District. I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Missouri, and I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades over the past 10 years.

My husband and I live in Ballwin, and we have a dog (Korra), cat (Macy), and a 3 month old son (Nathaniel). In my free time, I enjoy going on walks with my husband, Korra, and Nathaniel. I also enjoy playing volleyball (my husband and I met playing volleyball and still play on a team together). I can’t wait to learn more about Bellerive and teach there next year.

Dream TeamMrs. Meriac Mrs. Keller

My name is Jamie Meriac, and this is my 19th year as an SLP. I have been with SSD for almost 5 years. Before that, I was a medical SLP at St. Louis University Hospital.

I am married with two children and one dog. One of my sons will be a 7th grader at Parkway West Middle, and my other son will be a 5th grader at Mason Ridge Elementary.

As a family, we love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and cycling. My other hobbies include reading and crafting with my Cricut.

I am looking forward to this school year and am very excited to start my Parkway career! I am a St. Louis native and currently live in Kirkwood. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working as a children’s therapist for the past 6 years both in and outside of schools. I am married and we have two cats and one dog. I love walking my dog, trying new restaurants, traveling, happy hours, and anything pop culture!

My favorite things are Target, Twizzlers, flair pens, Diet Dr. Pepper, and anything animal themed.

My name is Kim Duy and I am so excited to be a new Reading Intervention Specialist at Bellerive and River Bend Elementary Schools. Last year I taught first grade at Carman Trails Elementary School. Prior to that I taught first grade in the Affton School District for 12 years and was also a Literacy Coach for two years. In addition I virtually taught English to children in China for three years.

My husband and I have been married for 21 years and we have four children: three boys and one girl. My boys are 18, 15 and 14 years old and my girl is six years old. My sons love to play ice hockey, my daughter loves gymnastics and swimming and I love to watch them all do what they love.

My name is Kathryn Bearman and I will be teaching Mosaics this year. I am very excited to be a part of the Bellerive community! I spent my first five years in Parkway as a fourth grade teacher at River Bend Elementary. Following that role, I served as a Math Support Specialist for the district.

It is my goal to provide a customized learning experience for my students. In my free time I love spending time with my husband and one year old daughter. I also enjoy cooking, exercising, reading, and spending time with friends. I am very excited for my new chapter at Bellerive!

My name is Maddey McDonald. I just graduated with my Masters from Missouri State University, and this is my first year teaching. I am so excited to be a part of the Bellerive and SSD DHH team! Here’s a little about me:

1. I graduated from Parkway North in 2016 (GO VIKINGS!)

2. I have hearing loss and started services with SSD in 3rd grade

3. I teach dance two nights a week at a studio in Overland.

4. My favorite thing in the whole world is my dog, Luna.

5. I love houseplants! My collection is currently around 50, but I’m always looking to add more. (My monstera is currently my pride and joy plant)

My name is Rachel Holland and I am so excited to join the Bellerive community as the new Instructional Coach! I have been an educator for 18 years, in the classroom and as a K-5 librarian.

I live in Kirkwood with my husband and 6 (almost 7) year-old daughter. I am from STL, but spent several years in Chicago and Seattle before moving back home three years ago. I started my teaching career in Parkway after graduating from Mizzou and was so happy to rejoin the Parkway community when we moved back. I like to spend my free time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, reading, gardening, and cooking. I am looking forward to an amazing school year!

Dream TeamMrs. Schisler Dr. Kopp

Hi there! I'm Laura Schisler and I'm looking forward to joining the Bellerive community this year teaching 3rd grade Suzuki violin.

This will be my 18th year teaching orchestra for Parkway. I'm married to an awesome husband named Don and we have 2 sons, David and Zack and a daughter, Juliet. Our family stays busy in the evenings and weekends with sports and music. In my free time, I love to play music and watch movies.

Thanks for welcoming me into your school community. I'm looking forward to another great year!

I will be joining the Bellerive community as the new Special Education Coordinator. I began working with Special School District in 2013 as a special educator at Parkway West High School and most recently taught at Litzsinger School since 2017. I hold a doctorate in educational leadership, master’s in severe/profound special education, and a bachelor’s in mild/moderate special education.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends outdoors. I am excited to return to the Parkway community to partner with families and staff to support a learning environment that fosters the success of every student.
