Pay Rate

• Whether or not an instructor can be paid directly as an adjunct for teaching a dual enrollment course is determined by the school district.

• If your district indicates that you cannot be paid directly (CMCSS, Cheatham County Schools), APSU will develop a dual service agreement whereby the district will receive the funds for the course and distribute them as they see fit.

• If a class size is smaller than 10 students, the pay for the course is prorated.

• Please note:• Students taking courses at their high school have access to electronic and campus library and student support

services through APSU. We have an on campus and online orientation each semester; we encourage students to participate in one or the other to familiarize themselves with the resources available to them.

• If you ever have concerns about the facility where you are teaching a course (e.g. the computers or lab equipment is inadequate at your off-site location), please contact our office if it is not resolved by the administrators at that location in a timely manner.

Student Learning Outcomes

• Required by SACS to assess all programs/degrees.

• Each department sets 4-8 student learning outcomes and chooses two methods to assess—one must be direct, the other can be indirect.

• Student Learning Outcomes focus on what students know, can do, and value.

• 1000 and 2000 level course-embedded assignments or exam questions are used to assess learning outcomes for general education core for the Associate of Science in Liberal Arts degree.

• After departments have collected data it is analyzed and they look at what actions (if any) need to be taken.

• The results are analyzed by location to prove that student learning taking place off-campus is comparable to on-campus learning.

• Please take seriously any assignments or exams the department requests for you to use.
