July 2016

At the June meeting of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors the board voted unanimously to engage with

Street Shares on a new affinity program for the Chamber, its members and business community. This program offers business

owners an alternative financing option.

The Street Shares Story:

In 2013, StreetShares co-founders, Mark Rockefeller and Mickey Konson, met for breakfast at a local diner to develop a new busi-

ness funding option that had the needs of everyday business owners in mind. The founding team had one vision: to breathe new

life into the American Dream. And StreetShares, America's small business funding community, was born.

The StreetShares community brings together business owners in search of funding and investors looking for both financial and so-

cial returns. In the end, business owners get the best deal possible, and investors earn a solid return while supporting American

small business - everybody wins.

How it Works:

Street Smarts makes it easy for small business to find the right loan product. Every small business has a story; you have the option

to tell yours. Loans at Street Shares include: loan amounts between $2,000-$100,000, terms of 3 months to 3 years, fixed rates that

will never increase, funding in days, not months. Borrower requirements include: US Citizen or permanent resident, in business for

at least 1 year, reasonable credit, earning $25,000+ in annual business revenue, incorporated (single member LLC or partnership is

okay), a business guarantor.

Are you Ready?

Street Shares can be accessed via the chamber’s website at OuterBanksChamber.com/StreetShares where you will find the link to

inquire about possible funding.

This is just one more resource the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce is bringing to its membership and the community.

SAILSTILETTO EXPANDS ON THE OUTER BANKS

Last year , SailStiletto tested the Outer Banks charter sai ling market with one boat in two locations starting out the

season in Nags Head docked from the Sugar Creek Restaurant and finishing the season at the Sunset Grille in Duck.

After reviewing the market test, the company has located three boats within the outer banks and are considering a

fourth location.

“We feel strongly about the Outer Banks as an ideal location for Sai lStiletto. The shallow cruising ground, sandy bot-

tom, and plentiful bayside beaches really give Stiletto a chance to stand out among sailboats. With our shallow, fast,

beachable Stilettos, we can make sail ing a key part of the Outer Banks experience.” says Meg Phil lips, Chief Marketing

Officer, Stiletto Manufacturing, Inc.

Stiletto catamarans are a high performance sailboat with a spacious dry cockpit aft and a comfortable trampoline for-

ward. The boat can sail in as l ittle as 8” of water and is regular ly pulled r ight up onto beaches or sandbars for swim-

ming, shel ling, and watersports. SailSti letto offers per person charters every two hours each day from 8am to 10pm

ranging in price from $25pp - $65pp and private 4 hour trips at 8am, 12pm, and 4pm for longer sai ling or larger

groups. In addition, SailStiletto offers Sti letto Sai ling instruction and club memberships.

Jay Phillips, Sti letto CEO says - “The Stiletto Club is a great option for Outer Banks locals who are interested in sai l-

ing or learning to sail , and certainly a great idea for any family considering a boat purchase. At just $89 per month

with unlimited sai l t ime, membership makes frequent sai ling attainable.” SailStiletto Club membership benefits include

free tuition in one section of Stiletto Sail ing Certif ication School, one private four hour sail per year in addition to

unlimited standby sailing at any partic ipating Sai lStiletto location.

Members will soon enjoy sailing on the new Sti letto -X. Stiletto manufacturing is launching a new line of Stiletto cata-

marans in 2016 cal led the Stiletto X-Series. At 10m (32ft), the new boat is a larger modernized Stiletto with easier

trailer ing abili ty and more interior comforts. The series also includes the Sti letto -Xf a fully foiling sailboat that fl ies

above the water maintaining speeds upwards of 30 knots. The new model is being produced at the Sti letto World

Headquarters in Columbia, NC. Sai lStiletto Outer Banks plans to replace its current Stiletto -27 fleet with Stiletto-X

models within the next two seasons.
