Old Format
New Format
Only one approval workflow
We have now combined the “Approval” buttons with the “Submit to Customer”
button.
There is now only one button for approvals, the “Submit for Approval” button,
that takes the quote through the entire approval workflow. This is similar to the
“Get All Approvals” button).
You no longer need to then also click on the Submit to Customer button.
Only one approval workflow
When your quote is completed, and you are ready to send a “Final” quote to
your customer, you will always need to click on the “Submit for Approval”
Button, whether or not an approval is required.
This is required to transition your quote to “Approved” status
You will not be able to print a “Final” quote unless your quote is in “Approved”
status. (This is similar to the old approval process where the quote needs to be
in “Submitted to Customer” status to print a “Final” quote.)
No Approval Required
If no approval is required then you move right into “Approved” Status. This is the
end of the workflow.
You no longer need to click on “Submit to Customer” and there is no longer a
“Submit to Customer” status.
Your quote will need to be in “Approved” status in order to print a “Final” quote.
Approval Required
If the quote requires approval, a “Submit Comment” dialog box will
automatically pop up for you to enter your justification for approvals.
You will not need to enter your initials or the date in your documentation as
this will automatically be added to your comments
Approval Required
Comments Entered in to the “Submit Comment” dialog box will show up in the Comments Entered in to the “Submit Comment” dialog box will show up in the
Approval History matrix along with your name and the date.
The “Submit Comment” dialog box replaces the “Reason” dialog boxes that
previously appeared under the “Technical Approval” and the “Business
Approval” sections
Approval workflow is more visible

your comments.

editable in the “Approved” Status.
You will no longer need to “Revise” your quote to make changes to these fields
Easier to Make Changes
Customer fields are also editable in the “Approved” Status.
You no longer need to revise quotes to change customer information.
Transition Process
• Quotes that are currently in the middle of the approval workflow using the legacy process will finish the approval process using the legacy workflow
• What this means that during the transition process you may see quotes that were approved using both the old process and the new process
• If quotes are “Revised” and need another approval then they will automatically switch over to the new approval process automatically switch over to the new approval process
Transition Process
Comments from Legacy Approvals will still be visible when using the new
Approval process. They will appear below the new Comments Block. So you
will still have visibility into all of the comments for the life of the quote.
