After leaving the Hull Lifesaving Museum, you can either go directly to Scituate Lighthouse or take a few backroads to see Minot Lighthouse and a replica of the original Minot Light lantern

room in Cohasset. To get there, follow your way back through Hull the way you came. After leaving the beach area, take a left onto Jeruselem Road.

Stay on Jeruselem Road for about 1.9 miles. At that point Jeruselem Road goes to on a sharp right. Stay left on Atlantic Avenue, keeping the ocean to your left. Stay on Atlantic Avenue for

about .25 miles. Sandy Beach is on your left. It’s posted as a town resident only beach, but that is not enforced after Labor Day. Minot Lighthouse can be clearly seen from this beach.

After leaving Sandy Beach, you’ll head towards Cohasset Center. Take a left onto Atlantic Aveune. Stay on it about 1 mile, then take a left onto Margin Street. From there you will go

around a hotel and onto Border Street. Go past the Atlantica Restaurant, over the small bridge and take a sharp left up a hill and back down to the small parking lot at the bottom of the

hill. This is the Minots Lighthouse Lantern room tower and there a few other items of note describing the storm that toppled the first one.

To get back to Rte. 3A, get back on Border Street and stay on it when it becomes Summer Street in about a half mile from the entrance to the Minot Light exibit. In .15 miles, go acros the

intersection onto Spring Street, and then across the tracks bearing left onto Pond Street. Stay on Pond Street for about .75 miles, then take a left onto Rte. 3A South. Follow Rte. 3A South for about 3.2 miles then take a left onto First Parish Road. See the other directions to Scituate

Lighthouse from this point.

From the Hull Lifesaving Museum:Go back the way you came through Hull and back into Hingham on Rte. 228. When Rte. 228

crosses with Rte. 3A, take a left onto Rte. 3A South.

After taking that left, follow Rte. 3A South a little over 6 miles and take a left ontoFirst Parish Road, Scituate.

Follow First Parish Road for about 8/10 of a mile. You’ll be at a fork in the road. Bear left onto Beaver Dam Road. Follow Beaver Dam Road for about 1.3 miles,

then take a left onto Jericho Road.

Once on Jericho Road, you will soon see the lighthouse to your right. Stay on Jericho Road until you come to a fork in the road with a sign for Cedar Point. Bear right, then stay right onto

Lighthouse Road; a one-way street. The lighthouse is at the end of the street. The lightkeeper Bob Gallagher will give us a tour of the home and we can go into the tower but only just below the

lantern room.

After leaving Scituate Light, there a two options. You can either head back to the highway and catch Rte. 3 South back to Plymouth or take the scenic route and stay on Rte. 3A and take

that to Plymouth. The first option would be to get back onto Jericho Road, then take a left at the intersection you were at to get there. This will take you onto Front Street. Go through the

downtown, take the second exit off the rotary and follow the Driftway to Rte. 3A. This is about 2.75 miles. Take the third rotary exit to get onto Rte. 3A South. Go about 6.25 miles, then take a right onto Rte. 139 West. Stay on Rte. 139 for about 2.75 miles, and then get on Rte. 3 south.

You’ll go under the bridge and you’ll want to be in the left lane.

For an alternate and more scenic, albeit slower drive, stay on Rte. 3A South. This way will let you check out the Miles Standish Memorial Tower. It’s not an aid to navigation, but it is free for climbing and affords great views of Plymouth Harbor. Follow the above directions until you get to Rte. 139. Take a left at that intersection and for about .4 miles, Rte 3A and 139 are the same street. Bear left at the lights to stay on Rte. 3A south. Follow Rte. 3A South for about 5 miles.

Take a left onto Chestnut Street.

Follow Chestnut Street for about .75 miles. Take the third rotary exit onto Standish Street. Follow Standish Street for about .35 miles, then bear right onto Crescent Street. Drive about .4 miles.

Look for and follow the signs to the top of the hill where the monument is.

After that, you can get back to the hightway to go south back to Plymouth. Get back to Rte. 3A South. drive about 1.7 miles to the exit to Rte 3 South.
