The goal of the studies is to obtain citizen input on a variety of topics related to parks and recreation use and community priorities for future improvements, with particular emphasis on gauging support for community recreation centers and aquatic facilities. A variety of research techniques are used in the studies, including telephone, mail, Internet, user surveys, and focus groups. Current satisfaction levels with existing facilities and programs are also measured, as is the relative importance of specific new priorities, facilities, and policies most desired and needed by the communities.
