SitRep No. 08 re Preparedness Measures and Effects of Southwest Monsoon Enhanced by Tropical Depression “HENRY” and Tropical Storm “INDAY”
for the period of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 20 July 2018

At 11:00 AM, “INDAY” has intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm as it continues to move Northwestward.
Meanwhile, at 10:00 AM today, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was estimated based on all available data at 475 km West of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18.2°N, 116.1°E).
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by STS “INDAY” and the LPA will bring intermittent moderate to heavy monsoon rains over Ilocos Region, CAR, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija, and scattered light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon until tomorrow, 21 July 2018.
II. EFFECTS A. Incidents Monitored (TAB A)
1. A total of twenty-one (21) incidents (landslide, strong winds, soil erosion, coastal erosion, collapsed structure) were monitored in Region III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, VI, and CAR.
B. Affected Population (TAB B)
A total of 46,877 families / 190,081 persons were affected in 222 barangays in Regions I, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, VI, and NCR. Of which, a total of 39,837 families / 168,903 persons are being served inside and outside evacuation centers:
Inside 34 ECs: 711 families / 2,581 persons Outside ECs: 39,126 families / 166,322 persons
C. Declaration of State of Calamity
No significant updates.

1. As of 20 July 2018, there were no reported stranded passengers, and vessels, while a total of one (1) rolling cargo and one (1) motorbanca were stranded in port due to Southwest Monsoon enhanced by TS “INDAY”.
Roads and Bridges (TAB D)
No significant updates.
F. Suspension of Classes (TAB E)
1. To date, a total of 159 cities / municipalities suspended classes on 20 July 2018 in the Province of Pangasinan, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Benguet, and NCR.
2. A total of 363 cities / municipalities suspended classes in Regions I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, VI, CAR, and NCR.
