EMERGENCY PREPAREDENESS AND RESPONSE:

NDRRMC Operations Center NDRRMOC remained under BLUE ALERT STATUS Disseminated NDRRMC Advisories on Weather Advisory to all regions affected

through SMS and facsimile, uploaded the same at the NDRRMC Website, Facebook,and Twitter accounts for further dissemination to their respective local Disaster RiskReduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs) from the provincial down to themunicipal levels

REGIONAL PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE:

RDRRMC V, VII, IX, X, XI and CARAGA disseminated weather advisory for LowPressure Area (LPA); Continuously monitoring AOR for possible flashfloods andlandslides, continuous weather update dissemination; Coordinates to all P/M/CDRRMCs for any updates in their respective Area of Responsibility

Region VOCD V On Blue Alert status Advised RDRRMC Response Agencies to place on standby alert all DRTs and

submit status report and actions taken Continuous coordination with PCDDBCL re status of different ports in the region

PDRRMC Albay Advised the LDRRMCs to:

1. Closely monitor the forecast events for its daily update and developmentfrom PAGASA and PDRRMC Albay through the local DRRMCs and localradio stations.

2. Activate and convene the LDRRMC to discuss the matter and come up

with a local scenario for advance planning on appropriate countermeasures.3. Review their local risk reduction plan on flood, wind, landslide, lahar and

coastal flooding as well as the corresponding vulnerable population fordisaster avoidance.

4. Start reviewing the list of vulnerable population by sitio or purok and comeup with the list as your basis in evacuation planning.

5. Come up with a listing of safe evacuation centers using government andprivate facilities including safe private houses for an effective evacuation

planning. Advised the residents to keep on monitoring the daily weather updates fromPAGASA; maintain coordination with the local authorities and cooperate with thelocal authorities in case of emergency advisory issuance

along coastlines and island barangays prioritizing the vulnerable groups to includewomen, PWDs, elderly and children; Charlie Coy of 75 th IB augment help during theevacuation; Hinatuan Response Team rescued 2 capsized boats early morning of 17January 2014, no casualties reported

Carrascal is continuously conducting on-air wide dissemination on preparednessmeasures and weather bulletins; conducted ocular survey on the status of rivers,

streams and landslide prone areas on 17 January 2014 Carras Nickel Corporation (CNC) deployed 15 rescuers and 1 heavy equipment fortransportation in the request of MDRRMC Carrascal for help in the evacuation of theaffected communities

Jabonga assisted in the evacuation and distributed relief goods and aqua purifiertablet/liquid to flood affected families

Buenavista convened for an emergency meeting to prepare for possible effects of thisweather disturbance and established Command Center to monitor the situation.Likewise, forced evacuation was implemented in coastal and other high risk areas in

the municipality and deployed rescue teams to assist in evacuation Kitcharao issued local advisory for families near riverbanks to evacuate. Las Nieves conducted emergency meeting and mobilized Emergency Response Team

to conduct monitoring of situation in high risk areas and assist in relief distribution. Magallanes and Nasipit prepositioned local rescue team for immediate response.

Nasipit MDRRM Office together with MLGOO and PNP is on 24 hour monitoringoperation.

RTR, Magallanes and Tubay prepared relief goods for affected families andevacuees.

MDRRMC members of Santiago and Tubay conducts regular patrol to theirrespective flood prone areas.

CDRRMCs Butuan City conducted emergency meeting for the discussion and approval of the

Declaration of State of Calamity ; raised Alert Level 2 and continues to monitor thewater level in Agusan River; prepositioned rescue teams composed of PNP, AFP and
