Naviance Non Common Application

Logging In

- Log into your Student Naviance Account (NHS Guidance -> Naviance)
- Update your Naviance email to match the email you used for the Common Application (we recommend using a personal email address)
1. Login to Naviance2. Select About Me3. My Account
a. Located under their name4. Under Contact, Click Edit5. Change Email
a. Toward the bottom of the page6. Click Save

1. Click on “I’m applying to” under

2. Click on the RED PLUS BUTTON

3. Find your college4. Fill in ”App Type”

5. When you get to the “I’ll submit my application”...
Choose “Direct to the institution”

6. Click “I have submitted my application.”
7. Click “add and request transcript”
YOU MUST HAVE APPLIED BEFORE REQUESTING A TRANSCRIPT!!!

8. Fill out remaining questions (Type of Transcript Requesting, Additional Materials, Where are you sending transcript)9. Repeat steps for additional colleges 10. Click “Request and Finish”
Use “Initial” for the type of transcript you are requesting. Final transcripts are unable to be sent until the school year concludes (which is too late!)

10. Make sure it says “requested”
Remember: Only request transcripts AFTER you have applied!

Fill out how you will submit your application
Choose “Direct to the institution”
ONLY choose “Via Common App” if you are using Common App for that specific college
Requesting Recommendation Letters

- Before requesting a letter of recommendations, please be sure to ask your teacher first!
- Make sure to give them enough time to write the letter (at least two weeks)!
- Not all colleges require a letter of recommendation, so please check!- Complete a Letter of Recommendation Self Assessment form and give to
your recommender (NHS Guidance College Planning Letter of Recommendation Self Assessment Form)

1. Click on the “Colleges” tab
2. Click on “Apply to College”
** NOTE: Not all colleges require recommendation letters!**

4. Click on “Add Request”
5. Complete the info and “Submit”
** Allow at least two weeks for the recommendation letter to be completed!**
