NATURE & ENVIRONMENT Duration: 4 or more days Distance: 428 km from Armadale, WA (return) Road Conditions: Sealed roads with short stretches of unsealed roads to Long Gully Bridge, Williams Nature Reserve and Dryandra In the heart of the Darling Ranges, Marradong Country features majestic rolling hills, valleys and forests spread on the shores of several rivers. It’s time to re-connect with nature on this Self-Drive Trail with ample walk trails and camping & caravan spots, all nestled within world-class native flora & fauna reserves. Day One: Head south from Perth to the Mt Cooke Walk Trail which leads to the highest point in the Darling Range of 582 m above sea level. Spend the morning walking the trail before departing to Threeways in North Bannister for lunch. Leave North Bannister to Wandering and set up camp at Wandering Caravan Park. Head out for tastings at Tanglefoot Wines, taking in the scenery and local history, followed by a serene nature walk on the Heritage Trail from the caravan park along the Wologin Gully. Day Two: You’ll spend your day in Dryandra, starting with the Dryandra Woodlands Conservation Area. Enjoy the various campsites and facilities here or book a cabin in the Dryandra Woodlands Lions Village. Explore the various Walk Trails throughout Dryandra, but don’t miss out on booking the Nocturnal Tour at the Barna Mia Animal Sanctuary. Stay one to two nights here. Day Three: Leave Dryandra and stop in at the Williams Nature Reserve. Discover the native flora & fauna and take in the views of the surrounding farming landscape. In Williams visit Lions Park nature playground and picnic area. Time to refuel, so tuck into lunch at a variety of cafés or roadhouses on offer. It’s Quindanning for the afternoon. Take the scenic drive via Lower Hotham Road and revel in the changing landscapes on Mt Saddleback. Travel out via Harvey-Williams Road to visit the site of the old Long-Gully Bridge on a section of the Bibbulmun Track. Indulge in chef-prepared dinner at the Quindanning Hotel. Stay the night or alternatively in Boddington via Pinjarra- Williams Road. Day Four: Visit the Boddington Interpretive Centre and learn about the environment, landscape and mining activity in the area. Stroll along the banks of the picturesque Hotham River before heading out on the Tullis Walk Trail. (Download Map Here). After lunch at one of the cafés back on Main Street, head down Ranford Road and pull in at Ranford Pool & River Walk, then embark on a safe journey back to Perth in the afternoon. SELF DRIVE TOUR 2

Day One:Go straight to Wandering via North Bannister Road (1.25 hours from Armadale) through premium wine growing country, home to wineries such as Wandering Lane, Hotham Ridge and Tanglefoot. Enjoy an early wine tasting and light meal at Tanglefoot Wines. Head out torwards Wandering Pingelly road and visit Hotham Ridge Organic Wines Cellar Door.

Head back onto Fourteen Mile Brook road and stay the night at Gelfro Farmstay where you can see where some of the regions best organic grass-fed lamb and oats are produced. Stay the night here and take some home with you.

Day Two Enjoy breakfast at the WIliams Woolshed and browse the many local preserves and wines available for purchase in “the Larder”. Try on quality Woollen garments at the “Woolstation” and discover the story of wool from the Sheep’s back to ours in the “Shearer’s Yarn” Museum.

Head out to towards Quindanning via picturesque farm land and enjoy a delicous chef-prepared lunch and regional wine in the gardens of the historic Quindanning Hotel.

Spend some time here before setting off home to Boddington. Enjoy a delicous coffee and home-cooked afternoon tea in one of the cafes before embarking on a safe journey home.
