Natural hair can be defined as hair that has had no chemical treatment or services. No relaxer,straightener, no pressing, flatirons, tongs or any form of heat, neither chemical or physical, is associated with the style.

Naturally curly hair can be dressed with pomades, and nondrying mousse as well as curl defining serums.

If the customer has chemically enhanced hair, she may opt to “transition” from straightened hair to natural hair by progessively letting the chemically treated hair grow out, then cut the hair down to the natural growth.

There are several styles of natural hair, including swing locs, sister locs, dreadlocs, cornrows, box braids, tree braids, etc. Some of these styles call for single braids, some micro braids, dookie braids, the names are limitless. On occasion when the natural hair is not long enough, commercial hair is added. These additions are combined/intertwined with the customer’s hair to add length. The commercial hair can be synthetic products such as Kanekalon or Yaky. However some clients prefer human hair additions.
