that is Music City.
the city for its unparalleled music scene, and recently have
noticed the creative culture is also showcased in its dining,
shopping and attractions. All of this creativity is served
with
top-notch Southern hospitality that has earned Music City
the title of friendliest city in the country.
Travel + Leisure recently recognized Nashville for its
friendliness, safety and value. Fodor’s named Nashville
one
of Seven Affordable Destinations to visit. Condé Nast
Traveler
placed Music City in the Top Five Cities in the World to
visit.
And Business Insider chose Nashville as one of the 15
Hottest
American Cities for 2015, citing the area’s livability,
job
growth, affordability and “cool” factor.
AFFORDABLE Foodies love the city’s burgeoning restaurant scene,
which
has been lauded in many national magazines.Husk Nashville,
Rolf and Daughters, Etch, Holland House Bar & Refuge,
Sinema, Flyte, Pinewood Social, Adele’s, Josephine and
Chauhan Ale & Masala House – to name just a very few
– are priced to make their celebrated menus easily accessible
to anyone who enjoys a great meal.
Equally a part of Nashville’s acclaimed food experience are the
city’s well-known “meat and threes,” barbecue joints,
breakfast haunts and casual restaurants that serve up
really
big taste with a really reasonable tab. The savory
Southern
flavors of places like Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Pancake
Pantry and The Loveless Cafe have graced the pages
of
no less than Bon Appétit, Travel + Leisure and Food
& Wine.
Great events throughout the year add even more
opportunities to sample the city’s wonderful mix of dining,
entertainment and attractions at low or no cost. Where else
could you get a front-row seat to Lady Antebellum on New
Year’s Eve, rock out to Cage the Elephant at Live on the
Green
or sing along with Billy Currington at the Music City July 4th:Let
Freedom Sing! event – all for free?
AUTHENTIC Of course, it’s that accessibility to great live music
that
truly sets Nashville apart. It isn’t an experience that can
be
duplicated anywhere else. Yet our musical calling card is
also
widely available to everyone.
Guests are often surprised to learn most of the famed
honky tonks and live music venues around town have little or
no cover charge for an evening filled with world-class music.
Many of the shows at the renowned Bluebird Cafe have
no cover charge. Similarly, the honky tonks along Lower
Broadway, including Tootsies Orchid Lounge, The Stage
on Broadway, The Second Fiddle and Whiskey Bent
Saloon, never charge a cover. For details on other venues,
go to visitmusiccity.com/freemusic or download the
free live music app that provides information on the go for
more
than 160 live music spots around town.
It’s also possible to sample the city’s cultural attractions
and natural beauty at no charge. Nashville is home to great
urban parks with lovely gardens, event spaces, and historical
attractions and landmarks. Be sure to check out Bicentennial
Capitol Mall State Park, the Music City Walk of Fame and
Centennial Park .
The arts also take center stage at a number of galleries
and free events. The First Saturday Art Crawl is a popular
tradition that spotlights downtown galleries each month.
The Van Vechten Art Gallery at Fisk University houses works
by some of the world’s best artists including Pablo
Picasso,
Paul Cézanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Georgia O’Keeffe.
Similarly, the galleries at Vanderbilt
University feature
exciting exhibits by regional and national artists. Hatch
Show
Print, one of the country’s oldest working poster print
shops,
puts its handiwork on display at its downtown store and
gallery.
History also comes to life in a number of other free
downtown attractions including the Tennessee State
Museum and Tennessee State Capitol. And many attractions
with admission fees for adults have greatly reduced or
free
admission for children. The Frist Center for the Visual
Arts
is always free to those 18 and under. The Nashville Convention &
Visitors Corp makes it easy
With its combination of affordable attractions, restaurants and
events, it’s no wonder that Nashville is such a popular meeting
destination.

to tap into affordable fun by offering special discounts and
savings. The Total Access Pass, which is available for
purchase
in the visitor centers, includes admission to four great
attractions plus additional transportation and shopping
discounts for one low price. To see all the savings, go to
visitmusiccity.com/discountsdeals.
A+ FACILITIES For meeting professionals, the bottom line always
comes
back to a city’s ability to handle a planner’s specific needs
in
an affordable manner. With two renowned convention centers
and a long list of other meeting venues and off-site
facilities,
Nashville exceeds expectations every time.
The Music City Center features 1.2 million square feet
of public space in the heart of downtown. Opened in 2013, the
convention center has a 350,000-square-foot exhibit hall,
90,000 square feet of meeting and breakout space, and a
57,500-square-foot grand ballroom. The facility’s flexible
configurations make it suitable for many of the nation’s
largest
meetings, but also allow for much smaller groups to enjoy the
spectacular array of amenities without feeling overwhelmed.
The 800-room Omni Nashville Hotel is connected to the
center, and there are another 15 hotels within four blocks
and
multiple other accommodations within just a few miles radius.
Gaylord Opryland® Resort & Convention Center has
long been the standard-bearer of hosting unforgettable
meetings. The beautiful resort setting and renowned
Southernhospitality accompany state-of-the-art facilities to meet
any
need. The complex includes the 263,000-square-foot Ryman
Exhibit Hall, six ballrooms, 152 meeting rooms and 2,881
guest
rooms under one roof. The luxurious facilities also include a
20,000-square-foot spa, 9 acres of gardens and waterfalls,
plus
dozens of restaurants, clubs and shops.
The Music Valley area features more than 35 additional
hotels to create flexible room blocks to accommodate even
the largest groups.
ACCESSIBLE Ideally situated within 600 miles of 50 percent of the
U.S.
population, Nashville’s location adds to its overall
affordability.
With both major and regional carriers flying in and out
of
Nashville International Airport, multiple flight options
allow
travelers to book based on both convenience and ticket price.
Additionally, three major interstates – 65, 24 and 40 –
all
converge in Nashville. This opens up the possibility of
driving
for many delegates and gives them the opportunity to bring
the
whole family to stay and play after the meeting ends.
ACCOLADES Nashville has been hailed as a top meeting and
vacation
destination by just about every major magazine and
professional
journal, including topping the list in many publications as a
top
place to see. Most recent of these include AFAR – Where
to Go
in 2015; MSN – The 15 Hottest American Cities for 2015;
Business Insider – The 15 Hottest American Cities
for 2015and Condé Nast Traveler – 30 Places to Visit Before You’re
30.
Nashville’s two convention centers offer all the amenities you need
for a meeting, plus we have a variety of interesting off-site
facilities, too.

N ashville is known worldwide as one of the Friendliest
Cities in the Country. The perpetual Southern hospitality
mirrored with stellar customer service ensures that groups
who meet here have an outstanding experience. But don’t
just
take our word for it – see what others have to say.
CORPORATE “Partnering with the Nashville CVC is a delight.
The
organization truly shows a commitment to serving its clients.
The pre-planning meetings were always very thorough, and the
CVC ensured that we accomplished all that we needed to see
and inspect. The CVC’s ability to arrange site visits and
planning
meetings according to our needs was excellent. It’s clear that
the
CVC’s associates have excellent relationships with the MCC,
the hotels, transportation companies and DMCs, not to mention
the local restaurants. The capable staff deftly leads you from
the
sales, pre-planning, onsite and follow-up processes. Calls
and
emails were always returned promptly, and information was
gladly shared by all. The CVC is a great source of local
knowledge
and helped us through the permitting processes, which were
very extensive. The staff was eager to help make our
convention
experience hassle free and painless, and it certainly
succeeded.”
Alyssa M. Kolat, CMP, Meetings Manager, Shows & Exhibits
National Rifle Association
“As planning began for the MacDon 65th Anniversary and
North America Dealer Meeting held in Nashville, 2014, there
was no concept of the fantastic experience we had in
store.
From the very first site visit arranged by the NCVC, there
was
absolutely no question our event would be a great success for
both the organizers and attendees.
It seemed as if every person in Nashville held a vested interest in
making our event a memorable experience. Folks
from the Department of Public Works, Music City Center and
its contractors, hotel staff, Destination Nashville staff,
Ryman
Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, all
the staff from the honky tonks, to the fabulous Wildhorse
Saloon, everyone went out of their way to make us feel
welcome and at home.
Our guests continue to rave about the convention facilities,
the food and our host hotels – the Omni and the Renaissance
– the honky tonks and the Wildhorse Saloon.
The NCVC was in no small part responsible for that success.
On top of the many great ideas and suggestions, for every question,
concern or crazy notion we had, there was an answer
or a contact name that could make it all happen.
Truly, the Music City experience is one we will never
forget.”
Jim Gladstone, P. Ag. Marketing Development & Communications
Manager
