“Napolitano, at one point likening thequestioning to a cross-examination, saidrepeatedly she only learned of “Fast andFurious” after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in December,”

1. reports Fox News. “She emphasized the operation, conceived and run by the Bureau ofAlcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, “was an ATF operation,” under the auspices of theJustice Department, not her department.”

However, as the video above documents, not only was Napolitano aware of the ATF program toput guns into the hands of Mexican drug lords, she actually helped launch the previous incarnationof it, Project Gun Runner, at a White House press conference alongside Deputy Attorney General

David Ogden in March 2009.

Operation Fast and Furious, which began in the fall of 2009,was merely an offshoot ofProject Gun Runner, which wasthe umbrella program for a seriesof gun running projects under theATF that stretched back to 2006.

In the 2009 video, Napolitanoclearly explains the process of using the eTrace system to track guns as they went into Mexicounder Project Gunrunner. This same system would later be used for the subsequent phase of thesame overarching program, Operation Fast and Furious.

Of course, the entire notion of the federal governmenttracking the firearms in order to target Mexican drugcartels lost credibility when it was revealed that when theguns reached the border

1. “the agency seemed to lose track of the weapons,”which were later used to kill border patrol agent BrianTerry and other innocent people. Of the 2,000 gunsknowingly released by ATF agents, 1400 were neverrecovered.

During yesterday’s testimony, Napolitano also dubiouslyclaimed that she had not spoken to Attorney General

Eric Holder aboutFast and Furious.

Contrary to hisCongressionaltestimony, recordsshow that Holder was sent briefings on Fast and Furious byboth Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer and theNational Drug Intelligence Center in July 2010, almost a yearbefore he told a Judiciary Committee hearing, “I’m not sure ofthe exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furiousfor the first time over the last few weeks.”

Napolitano’s claim that she knew nothing of Fast and Furiousuntil it hit the news headlines is almost certainly a brazen lie, since she was responsible for launching the previousincarnation of the same program less than two years earlier. Ifthe DHS chief is found to have lied under oath, she is guilty ofperjury and obstruction of justice, and faces a jail sentence ofa minimum of five years.

Promo Video For DHS-Backed ‘Spy StreetLights’ Pulled From You Tube Paul Joseph WatsonPrison Planet.comWednesday, October 26, 2011

The company behind a Departmentof Homeland Security-fundedproject to install street lights thatdouble as sophisticated surveillancedevices pulled its promo video for‘Intellistreets’ from You Tube hoursafter our article drawing attention tothe issue was linked on the popularDrudge Report website. Havinginitially disabled comments on theYou Tube clip, IlluminatingConcepts yanked the video entirelythis afternoon, presumably nervousabout the negative publicity thatcould be generated from concerns about new high-tech street lights being used for “HomelandSecurity” purposes – their words, not ours. However, having gone to the trouble of puttingtogether a promotional video for their product, and having already started installing the systemin the city of Farmington Hills, Michigan with the aid of federal funding, the fact that thecompany attempted to prevent people learning about the “Homeland Security” applications forthe street lights speaks volumes.

If ‘Intellistreets’ is such a cutting edge concept that presents an array of wonderful benefits, as thepromo video claims, then why remove it from You Tube? It’s almost like a kid getting caughtwith his hand in the cookie jar.

Now that the company has tried to hidethe video, it will only generate moresuspicion about the true purpose behind‘Intellistreets’ and the level ofinvolvement on behalf of HomelandSecurity.

As we documented earlier today,‘Intellistreets’ is even more frighteninga concept than the DHS-fundedsurveillance cameras that haveblanketed America. Not only does thissystem have video

Page 4: Napolitano Knew About Fast and Furious In 2009

surveillance capabilities, it also includesaudio sensors and speaker systems that willbe used by authorities to “promote civicawareness,” presumably in the same vein asHomeland Security’s telescreens in Wal-Mart stores that feature a message fromJanet Napolitano encouraging Americans tospy on each other and report suspiciousactivity.

Using street lights as Minority Report-stylebroadcasting platforms for advertising andgovernment propaganda also dovetails withthe Obama administration’s agenda to havecomplete control over communications by

means of the Emergency Alert System and the program to have all new cell phones displaymandatory “emergency” messages from the federal government by next year.

You can still watch a duplicate of the video for ‘Intellistreets’ below (until that too is pulled). Thevideo is also still available on the company’s website.

‘Rogue Websites’ Bill Creates Chinese-StyleBan List Paul Joseph WatsonInfowars.comThursday, October 27, 2011

The newly introduced ‘rogue websites’bill that has attracted bi-partisan supportin the House will force Internet ServiceProviders to create a list of bannedwebsites and prevent their users fromaccessing the sites, creating a Chinese-style ‘ban list’ that could easily be abusedto silence free speech. “US lawmakersintroduced a bill on Wednesday thatwould give US authorities more tools tocrack down on websites accused of piracy of movies, television shows and music and the sale ofcounterfeit goods,”

1. reports AFP.

“The Stop Online Piracy Act has received bipartisan support in the House of Representatives andis the House version of a bill introduced in the Senate in May known as the Theft of IntellectualProperty Act or Protect IP Act.”

Although the legislation is primarily aimed at foreign websites, it could just as easily be applied toall .com domains.

The most chilling part of the legislation makes it clear that this is about empowering the federalgovernment to create a blacklist of banned websites.

“A service provider shall take technically feasible andreasonable measures designed to prevent access by itssubscribers located within the United States to the foreigninfringing site (or portion thereof) that is subject to theorder, including measures designed to prevent the domainname of the foreign infringing site (or portion thereof) fromresolving to that domain name’s Internet Protocoladdress,” states the bill.

The only difference between this system and the draconianmeasures currently in place in countries like Iran, China andNorth Korea, is that the ISP’s would be mandated to

enforce the ban list, rather than the websites being blocked via a centralized government hub.

Note that the website only has to be “accused” of doing something the government deems

Page 6: Napolitano Knew About Fast and Furious In 2009

unlawful to be blacklisted, there is no legalprocess whatsoever.

Given the fact that the

1. U.S. government is now ordering YouTube to remove videos that contain“government criticism,” the potential forthis legislation to be abused to silence politicalfree speech is clear. Add to that the fact thatVerisign, the global authority over all .comdomain names, is demanding the power to terminate websites deemed “abusive” whenordered to by government without a court order or any kind of oversight whatsoever, and thethreat to web freedom is clear.

The new legislation, “includes the most controversial parts of the Senate’s Protect IP Act, butradically expands the scope,” the Center for Democracy and Technology said in a statement. “Anywebsite that features user-generated content or that enables cloud-based data storage could endup in its crosshairs.

“Internet Service Providers would face new and open-ended obligations to monitor and policeuser behavior,” the CDT said. “Payment processors and ad networks would be required to cut offbusiness with any website that rightsholders allege hasn’t done enough to police infringement.”

As we have documented, lawmakers like Senator Joe Lieberman have teamed up withDepartment of Homeland Security officials to push draconian legislation in an effort to mimic theCommunist Chinese system of policing the Internet. During a CNN appearance last year,Lieberman said the goal was to empower the U.S. government with an Internet kill switch.

“Right now China, the government, can disconnect parts of its Internet in case of war and weneed to have that here too,” Lieberman told CNN’s Candy Crowley.

However, China’s “war” is not against foreign terrorists or hackers, it’s against people who dareto use the Internet to express dissent against government atrocities or corruption. China’s systemof Internet policing is about crushing freedom of speech and has nothing to do with legitimatesecurity concerns.

Lieberman has already acted to shut down websites without a court order or any form ofoversight when Amazon axed Wikileaks from its servers after being pressured to do so byLieberman’s Senate Homeland Security Committee.

The DHS has already seized dozens of websites merely for linking to copyrighted material, despite the fact that such material isn’t even hosted on the website itself, a process the ElectronicFrontier Foundation has criticized as, “Blunt instruments that cause unacceptable collateraldamage to free speech rights.”Paul Joseph Watson is the editor and writer for PrisonPlanet.com. Support for Second Amendment at Record High

Kurt NimmoPrisonPlanet.comThursday, October 27,2011

It’s bad news forgun-grabbers and otherenemies of the SecondAmendment – only 26% ofrespondents to a recentpoll believe thegovernment should banhandguns.

The poll is part of Gallup’sannual Crime poll, conducted Oct. 6-9. Thisyear’s poll finds supportfor a number ofgun-control measures at historical lows, including the ban on handguns, which is Gallup’s longestcontinuing gun-control trend, according to their website.

Gallup notes that the acceptance of gun ownership is not related to crime.

“In 2008, Gallup found widespread agreement with the idea that the Second Amendment of theU.S. Constitution guarantees the right of Americans to own guns. Americans may also be movingtoward more libertarian views in some areas, one example of which is greater support forlegalizing marijuana use,” Gallup reports.

“What’s interesting here is Americans are shifting to a more pro-gun stance despite high profileincidents of gun violence – like the Arizona shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others,”reports CNN in reaction to the findings. Gallup also reported gun ownership at its highest levelsince 1993. Forty-seven percent of American adults admit that they keep a gun in their household, which is the highest number recorded in almost two decades. In 1993, the Clinton administrationpushed through the Brady bill to ban handguns. The law required a five day waiting period afterpurchasing a handgun. Clinton called the bill a “good beginning” for more gun control legislation
