Principals Corner Mrs. Jacqueline Russell Wow…time is flying by! We’re already into November and the cool and crisp days of fall. Things are running pretty smoothly at Humboldt. We have worked through most of our new year kinks and I think we’re on the right track for an AMAZING school year. Students seem happy and excited about school and learning. Staff members are committed to service and in making our school a great learning community. As the weather has quickly changed, please make sure students come to school dressed properly for our St. Louis weather. Trunk or Treat day was good and cold!! The kids really had a great time. Wow…time is flying by!

The grownups had fun too!! Please hide the candy!!!

We will be Acuity B and STAR testing over the next few weeks and we need your help.  Please make sure students are getting enough rest and getting to school on time each day for breakfast.  Also, please make sure that your child is here each day so they are not faced with make-up testing.  Thanks for all your support as we work to prepare your children for a bright future as tomorrow’s leaders.

I know it seems like a rush has hit you all these past couple of months, but we are getting closer to our time of relaxation! September and October were such busy months, from fundraising, t shirt orders, PTO events, all of your volunteering, none of these things would be possible without YOU! I want to personally thank each and every one of you for all of your hard work and dedication in making all of Humboldt’s endeavors a success. Your participation and willingness helped us raise over $6,000 dollars, the most that Humboldt has ever raised before. Also a huge shout out to all of our Trunk or Treat participants! We gave out so much candy to our kids! Special Shout out to Rowe’s Shaved Ice, our parents, Wilkinson PTO, church volunteers, and staff that decorated their trunks you all are amazing! Creating positive relationships between the home, school and the community is important in maintaining and focusing on the success of our children. We are in this race together, and together it will get done! Keep an eye out for weekly reminders and information that goes in your child’s folder. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Character Word of the Month“Responsibility”Every month Humboldt encourages our students to display actions that represent the character word of the month. This month students were expected to show acts of Responsibility. Teachers picked the top two students from their class and they are featured on our Wall of Character and in our newsletter. Dear Parents“A Note To Parents”Humboldt Academy is a part of the magnet program, therefore attending our school is a privilege. All student’s attendance should be perfect. If a student is sick or has scheduled appointments, documentation regarding your child’s absence is required. Students should not miss numerous days consecutively. We can all reach our greatest potential, together!
