It was great to hear the students talk about their strong qualities of leadership and their plans for the school to flourish in 2018. We wish them all the very best and look forward to the announcement of our School Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects for 2018 on Presentation Day. The Kindergarten Transition program wrapped up yesterday with all students graduating from the program. It was amazing to see our new Kindergarten students really embrace the program and enjoy each Tuesday for the past 6 weeks. A huge thanks to Mrs Crooks and the staff for their outstanding leadership in running such a successful program. Our P&C meeting was held last night at the school. A huge thanks for all of the work that our dedicated, small team of parents put in on a daily basis to help our students thrive within our school. Your efforts certainly do not go unnoticed. Our final P&C function for the year will be held on Thursday 14 th December. Next Friday 1st December is our annual Infants Presentation and Sports Presentation days. The Infants Presentation day starts at 10am followed by the Sports Presentation from 12.30pm. This is a great day to celebrate all of the achievements throughout the year. We look forward to your attendance. The last two lessons for Primary Sport 'Learn to Swim' will run on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th November this week. It has been incredible to watch all students develop their skills and abilities in the water this Term. Good luck to all the Year 5 students going for Sports Captain roles this week, it is a very exciting time of the year. On a similar note, I would like to acknowledge the amazing job our current Year 6 Sports Captains have done. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the job. Have a safe and enjoyable week everyone! Mr Adams PDHPE Teacher SCHOOL COMMENCEMENT JANUARY 2018 If anyone is having a holiday and will not be at school for the first few weeks of Term 1 please put it in writing in a letter addressed to Mr Russell. Please hand this letter in to the school office before the end of this Term. Thank you CLOTHING DONATIONS If you have any old school uniforms, socks or shoes at home that no longer fit your child would you please consider donating them to the school.

SCHOOL BANKING Thank you for a great year of School Banking. We would like to thank all of our students who have participated in the CommBank School Banking program this year. Our final School Banking day for 2017 will be Tuesday 12th December. If your child is eligible to order a reward item please ensure that the reward coupon is completed and returned prior to Tuesday 5th December. Any tokens that have not been redeemed this year can be used in 2018.

PRICELINE MUSWELLBROOK VISIT MSPS Last Wednesday our Stage 2 and 3 Girls Groups had the pleasure of receiving a visit from Priceline Pharmacy. The focus of the visit was ‘Hair - how to keep it up and clean’. Each girl received a goodie bag containing a brush, comb, maroon hair bands, bobby pins and shampoo. The girls really enjoyed the experience and would like to thank the ladies at Priceline Pharmacy for coming in! We look forward to future visits!

YEAR 6 FAREWELL The Year 6 Farewell is being held on Monday 11th December from 6pm to 8pm at Muswellbrook RSL Club. Cost is $30.00 per person and must be paid to the office by next Friday 1st December. Late payments

will not be accepted as numbers need to be given to the RSL Club next week. Dress code is smart casual. This is an event for Year 6 students only. Parents are invited to arrive at 8pm to watch the Presentation section of the evening. The Farewell is scheduled to finish by 8.30pm.

WARRAE WANNI News Our WARRAE WANNI CENTRE at Muswellbrook South Public School is starting to fill up for 2018! We are planning for new enrolments. If you have a child or know a relative/friend who has a child living in our school zone, fitting our criteria, please fill in an: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST NOTE FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

The GOANNA class is a 2 day per week program

• If you have a 4-5 YEAR OLD starting school at MSPS in 2019 • A Birth Certificate • Immunisation Statement from Medicare

The JOEY class is a 2 day a week program If you have a 3 YEAR OLD who has:

• A Birth Certificate • Immunisation Statement from Medicare • Is toilet trained

We do not take any children who are attending any day care or Preschool setting. (ie: Goodstart, Tilly’s, Muswellbrook Childcare Centre, Muswellbrook Preschool). Please be aware that we phone these services to ensure your child is not currently enrolled or has been enrolled in the past.
