MISSION
MAINLY MUSIC - Can You Help?
Commencing on Tuesday 21 February, we will be conducng a pilot
of Mainly Music. This community music program for toddlers and
their parents has enjoyed great success around the world. Children
parcipate in simple music acvies, then parents enjoy a deliciousmorning tea while children have free play. Its a great way to serve our
local community. The value of Mainly Music is the direct contact with
people in our local community. Would you be willing to serve as part
of a team to help with registraon and morning tea? Or would you be
interested in leading children and parents in singing and moving to
music? Please talk to Cheryle Marn 9255 2526 or Father Chris.

LITURGY
CHILDREN IN THE 10.00am EUCHARIST
We are rening our pracces of inclusion for children in the 10.00am Eucharist. For children,
the liturgy essenally has three parts:
1. Hear - children hear a story from scripture or the Chrisan tradion. This takes place
inside the church building along with the whole people of God.
2. Respond - children discuss and creavely respond to what they have heard. This
takes place in the Parish Centre and lasts for approximately 20 minutes.
3. Share - returning at the Greeng of Peace, children gather with the whole people of
God to share in the Eucharist.
Parents and other adults can help children to understand these three disnct porons of the
liturgy and foster an atude of inclusion and acceptance. It is important to model to children
that they are full members of the body of Christ and equal parcipants in the Eucharist.
HOLY WEEK AND EASTER LITURGIESLast year at 9.00am on Easter Day there were more than 100 people present. In addion, a
number of people were absent from the Great Vigil of Easter (the central act of worship in
the Chrisan year) because of the 6.00am start. To address these two issues, Father Chris is
proposing Easter services as follows:
The Great Vigil of Easter - Saturday 7 April (Easter Eve) at 7.30pm
Easter Day Eucharists - 8.00am and 10.00am
If you have any advice on this maer, please contact the Rector.
LITURGICAL ASSISTANTS AND OTHER ROLES
As outlined on Saturday 28 January, in 2012 we will be simplifying our roster system. The broadprinciples of the revised system are:
Do one thing and do it well
