The students completed tests in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy. Results from these tests will be sent home this week and overall school results discussed at the P&C meeting this Tuesday. If you have any questions about your child’s results, please make a time to discuss them. DRIVING SAFELY Attached is an information sheet which the RTA have asked us to distribute. We appreciate the safe way in which parents drop off and pick up their students at our school. It is important that we continue to focus on the importance of safe road rules around our school. ATTENDANCE As discussed at our last assembly, September is Attendance Month. We will be presenting awards during our next assembly to those students who demonstrate particularly good attendance patterns. Please find a flyer and sticker about attendance for your information. SHOW WEEK This week our students will be completing a range of activities in the Creative and Practical Arts. The items will be entered into various categories at the Young Show in a couple of weeks. Parents and community members are invited and encouraged to come down this week to help out with the fun activities between 12.00 and 3.00. Students will be preparing handwriting sheets and stories to enter. They will also be creating two scarecrows which will be entered in the show and then returned to our kitchen garden. They will also be doing acrylic paintings on canvas, dioramas, photography and basket weaving. Come along and enjoy the fun atmosphere as our students let their imagination soar. MISS BUNNY Many of you would have already met Miss Amy Bunny, a Prac student from Charles Sturt University who has been working with both classes last week and this week. Miss Bunny has been helping the students with english and craft lessons and has been a welcome addition to our staff. CRICKET NSW Both Upper and Lower Division enjoyed their visit from Jock of Cricket NSW last Monday. He ran the students through a number of training drills and small games before playing a game of con- tinuous cricket. Jock gave each child a show- bag from Cricket NSW and encouraged them to sign up to play cricket this summer. From the P&C ……………. A big “Thnak You” for everyone who helped with the catering for the funeral of Mr Clem Williams, a former local resident and returned serviceman of Murringo. The family of Mr Williams wanted to pass on their gratitude in preparing and serving such a wonderful afternoon tea and refreshments following the funeral. “As it was such a chilly day, the warmth shown by the community of Murringo as well as by the open fire when we walked into the supper room was very much appreciated. It was only fitting that Clem was to be remembered and farewelled by a caring community such as Murringo. Thank You”. The family of Clem Williams.

NAPLAN

Earlier this year all of our Year 3 and 5 students

participated in the National Assessment Program in

Literacy and Numeracy. The students completed tests

in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation

P&C MEETING

Just a reminder that our next P&C

Meeting is tomorrow after school at

3.30pm. Please see the attached

agenda and come along.

IT’S THE MONTH FOR BIRTHDAYS

September is our busiest month for birthdays. So

to Nick, Isabelle, Charlie, Gina, Ethan and Gracie.

HAVE A WONDERFUL & FANTASTIC BIRTHDAY!

HALF DAY FOR YOUNG SHOW

Our school will be closed as gazetted for the Annual

Young Show, which is Tuesday, 29th September. The

show will be closed as of 12

noon. The school bus will be

collecting the children who

travel home by bus at 12 noon

and proceed on the same bus

route as normal.

Make sure to take a look at all

the children’s entries if you are going to the Show.

PREMIER’ SPELLING BEE

Lochie, Ollie, Molly and Amber will be travelling to

Wagga on Monday, 21st September to participate in

the Premier’s Spelling Bee.

They have been practising their

words both a school and at

home and all the staff and

students wish them all the very

beset of luck.

OUR EXCITING TRIP TO SYDNEY
