These values reflect a change in the way we are working with students around their behaviour. While there is a need to reprimand and provide students with consequences for behaviour that is hurul and dangerous, it is also equally important to teach children what acceptable behaviour looks like. Aſter all, we dont know, what we dont know. Our values are ones that are no doubt shared by our community, those of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Over the last two terms we have been introducing these words to all students at our school and discussing what each of the values might look like in their everyday lives. Our next step along the way is to introduce to students and families our Behaviour Matrix. This outlines specifically what it looks like to be respecul, responsible and resilient in each of the different environments in our school (for example the classroom, playground etc.) We will begin this week by introducing the general rules of respecul, responsible and resilient behaviour across the general school environment. Posters have been created and lessons will be taught to all students around what their behaviour should look like within our school. I am sure that this is very similar to what you expect at home and so I ask that you connue the discussions with your children when they get home. If we are clear in what we expect then it is easier for children to behave in a socially acceptable way. So many of you are so great at working with us on the important issues – this is the next issue we are tackling. I would especially like to thank Mrs Jacki Beale for all of the amazing work she has done, and connues to do around our school values project. Mrs Beale does this on top of her teaching load and has done such an amazing job that her work is being used as an exemplar in other schools. We are commied to make each student an informed and socially adept cizen of our community. Thank you for working with us on this. Also on this note, overnight and offsite excursions come with issues around behaviour and safety for all involved. Dear Parents/Carers,

You will no doubt have seen the new signage around our

school that reflect our school values. These values reflect a

change in the way we are working with students around

their behaviour. While there is a need to reprimand and

provide students with consequences for behaviour that is

hurtful and dangerous, it is also equally important to teach

children what acceptable behaviour looks like. After all, we

don’t know, what we don’t know. Our values are ones that

are no doubt shared by our community, those of Respect,

Responsibility and Resilience.

Over the last two terms we have been introducing these

words to all students at our school and discussing what each

of the values might look like in their everyday lives. Our next

step along the way is to introduce to students and families

our Behaviour Matrix. This outlines specifically what it looks

like to be respectful, responsible and resilient in each of the

different environments in our school (for example the

classroom, playground etc.) We will begin this week by

introducing the general rules of respectful, responsible and

resilient behaviour across the general school environment.

Posters have been created and lessons will be taught to all

students around what their behaviour should look like

within our school. I am sure that this is very similar to what

you expect at home and so I ask that you continue the

discussions with your children when they get home. If we

are clear in what we expect then it is easier for children to

behave in a socially acceptable way. So many of you are so

great at working with us on the important issues – this is the

next issue we are tackling.

I would especially like to thank Mrs Jacki Beale for all of the

amazing work she has done, and continues to do around our

school values project. Mrs Beale does this on top of her

teaching load and has done such an amazing job that her

work is being used as an exemplar in other schools. We are

committed to make each student an informed and socially

adept citizen of our community. Thank you for working with

us on this.
