Howard Earl Gardner (born July 11, 1943) is an American developmental psychologist and a professor at Harvard University. He introduced his theory of Multiple Intelligences in his book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences (1983).
As Gardner himself states
‘…all human beings possess not just a single intelligence…’
‘…we… are better described as having a set of relatively autonomous intelligences.’
How do educators make use of MIT ?
Through
a) Individualization:
teaching and assessment that bring out each child’s capacities
b) Pluralization: one topic taught in multiple ways reaches
many students Thorough understanding of a topic means
several ways of thinking it, thus, use of multiple intelligences.
