Components Features

Receipt , Consolidation and Shipping

• Goods from origin countries across regions are received into Damco warehouses and thence into strategically located regional hubs for consolidation

• Hubs are located in Free Trade Zones and are managed by Damco in full compliance with C-TPAT standards

• Full loads are integrated seamlessly with Damco freight forwarding solutions for both ocean and air freight

Booking, Shipping and Carrier Management and Planning

• Origin bookings are analysed to identify shipments suitable for MCC based on business logic agreed with the customer

• Inbound and outbound leg ocean freight moves are planned. Space and equipment is booked with your nominated ocean freight providers and your allocation managed

Value Added Services • Advantage can be taken of 14 days’ free storage to perform

operations such as labeling, re-packaging, tagging, minor product alterations, kitting.

Document Management

• All documents required for ocean freight and international trade are created, collated and transmitted

• A through Damco sea waybill is used from origin to destination

Trade & Customs Compliance

• Entry and exit through Free Trade Zones/ bonded facilities is managed with minimum cost or hassle

A Damco Multi-Country Consolidation programme includes the receipt of goods into our warehouses at each origin and subsequently shipment of goods from each origin to a single consolidation hub port, for consolidation into dedicated full load containers before the delivery straight to your final destination.

CASE STUDY:

Damco has established two Origin Distribution Centres in China (at Shanghai and Shenzhen) for a global office products company, serving 26 country markets.

The DCs offer an economical approach to slow moving lines and markets with smaller order quantities, where shipping full container loads direct from the factory is not practical. The DCs handle both CFS orders, which pass through the DC intact, and ‘Origin DC’ orders, where goods from multiple suppliers are brought into inventory and picked against distribution orders to make full loads for destination DCs.
