A Process for Leading Change At the heart of the Breaking Ranks Framework is the question all leaders must address, “How do we improve our schools?” Breaking Ranks: A Field Guide for Leading Change is the “how to” process. Leaders find the answer to that question in the six stages for systemic school reform depicted in the process circle. This circle asks school teams to gather data, explore solutions, assess readiness, create a plan, implement the plan, as well as monitor and adjust the plan. Attend this workshop to learn about the six core areas of the process circle that will assist you in your day-to-day decisions to improve your school. Meet the Presenter: The presenter, Dr. Matt S. Saferite is coordinator of Professional Development for the Bentonville School District (Bentonville, AR). He is the former principal of Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville, AR. Ramay has received distinguished recognition at the state and national levels for high student achievement (including a total or near elimination of "achievement gaps" between ethnic groups) and simultaneously, high satisfaction levels for students and staff. The most noteworthy honors include being named one of ten "Breakthrough Schools" in the United States in 2011 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP.org). Ramay has also been identified by the College Board and the NASSP as a "LeadingSuccess" school (LeadingSuccess.org). Mountain States IV Regional Leadership Conference “Leading Change” Deadwood, SD at The Lodge Leaders at every level will benefit from this conference. Elementary leaders, Middle and Junior High leaders, High School leaders, department heads, teacher leaders and even Central office leaders need to be well acquainted with “Leading Change,” as we all move forward with ESSA. A full day with national trainer, Dr. Matt Saferite and a half day Ed Camp to solidify our regional networking in this fourth annual Mountain States Conference. Monday Nov. 7 7:30am Breakfast buffet 8:30-3:30 “Leading Change” Lunch buffet will be served Tuesday Nov. 8 7:30am Breakfast buffet 8:30-11:30 Our first ever regional Ed Camp The Lodge at Deadwood is an amazing venue for MS4. The room rates can’t be beat. Bring the kids and let them wander the water park. Your significant other can probably win enough at the tables or slots to pay for the trip while you participate in excellent professional development and networking with school leaders from across the west. Bring your entire leadership team and grow your school.
