This Year’s ThemeThree outdoor Christian education basics—God’s creation,Christian community, and faith formation—come together inour summer theme for this year, The Water of Life. The key versefor the week says it all: “When you pass through the waters, I

will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2). Campers will dive into five Biblestories and daily themes that shower them with new awareness of

how water and life are gifts from God.

About Three Tiered PricingWe believe everyone should have the opportunity to attend camp, regardless of their ability to pay. This is oneof the things that sets us apart from other summer camps. Camp families have differing abilities to pay. Sinceyou know your family’s financial situation better than we do, we’re offering a voluntary three-tiered pricingprogram. You get to self-select the rate you can afford. Please remember: All campers receive the samecamp experience regardless of which tier you choose. Each program lists three tiers for cost.

• Tier 1: Most accurately reflects the "true cost" of camp.

• Slightly subsidized for families needing some support to make camp affordable.

• Tier 3: Subsidized rate through fundraising, special events, and contributions from camp supporters.

If none of these three tiers meets your family budget, please contact us about camperships. Campers are encour-aged to contact their local church for assistance as many have funds available for summer camp. If more help isneeded, please send a request in writing to Chad Hershberger, Executive Director, to apply for funding fromThe Rev. Conrad B. Youse Campership Fund. We require those who apply for camperships to have either thefamily or church pay at least the registration deposit.

course• Lunch with the best food around, more singing and learning• Swimming in cool, clear water on a hot day• Rest time to catch your breath• Hike to see wildlife, canoe in the pond, or nature study• Supper fit for a king with singing and more learning• Evening activities like parachute, games, volleyball• Stories and worship to end the night

Each week includes all-camp activities and electives, campfireprograms, team building, and an overnight camping trip (exceptBase Camp and Day Camp programs). A typical week begins withregistration on Sunday from 2:45-4:00 p.m. and wraps up with a pic-nic meal, singing, and a short sending on Friday at the pavilion at6:00 p.m.

Outcomes At Mount Luther, we believe the most important outcome of the camp experience is a deeper relationship

with God. When that commitment deepens, the camper’s connection to the Church is strengthened andboth flourish. Since 1963, the camp has used faith as a firm foundation on which to stand-- faith in God andfaith in one another. Campers last year said their faith grew in these ways…

“I learned about the Good Samaritan.” –Harrison, 10

“God meets us everywhere and in our neighbors.” –Slone, 10

“It grew every day. I would just learn more and more and my faith grew moreand more.” –Ella, 10

“I got a different perspective on the scripture than most of the year.” –Michael, 16

“1 to 100” –Michael, 8

“I feel like I can find Jesus in more concrete ways.” –Evan, 16

Our hope is that each camper who comes to Mount Luther will also devel-op a sense of identity and self-worth; relate to the world of nature and gainskills for living in it; learn to make effective use of their time in service toChrist; become more emotionally mature and self-assured; and gain leader-ship skills and confidence from a Christian perspective. Here is what some ofour campers said last year about their camp experience:

“My favorite thing was the good Samaritan relay because I got to help carrymy sister.” –Layla, 5

“Camp Mount Luther is one of the best summer camps!” –Alex, 12

“I will tell my friends that we saw a bear!” –Emma, 11

“I saw a blacksnake eat a frog.” –Nevin, 8

“I really didn’t like the last day when we would have to go home.” –Amelia, 10

“I’m definitely coming back next year five times!” –Harrison, 10
