Mount Hunter Public School Newsletter Week 9 Term 1 2019 Principal’s Message We have a busy few weeks left for this term with lots of interesting and excellent opportunities for students and parents to be involved in. We hope to see you at various events over the next 3 weeks. Harmony Day Thursday 21 st March We had another great Harmony Day last Thursday as the students rotated around activity groups. The theme ‘Everybody Belongs’ was a meaningful and significant message in light of recent world events. Thank you to the students who presented information about their cultural heritage and those who wore an item of orange on the day. Thank you to Pauline Bishop and the Mount Hunter Scottish Dancers who gave us a fantastic display of Scottish dances in traditional costume. In particular, thank you to Mrs Goraya for organising a great day and to Year 6 for the yummy cakes.

Week 9 Term 1 2019 Principal’s Message We have a busy few weeks left for this term with lots of interesting and excellent opportunities for students and parents to be involved in. We hope to see you at various events over the next 3 weeks.

Thank you to the students who presented information about their cultural heritage and those who wore an item of orange on the day. Week 9 Term 1 2019 Camden Show

This year, Camden Show will be held on Friday 5th April. It is a whole school event and all students are expected to attend. Entry is free for all students. A permission note and parent helper request will be sent home with this Newsletter. We will be entering two whole class art/craft displays so please come along to see if we win a prize.

Easter Hat Parade activities Mrs Webb and Mrs Goraya will be organising the Easter Hat parade activities this year for Thursday 11th April. A note will be sent home closer to the event. We hope that everyone has started thinking about their eggs-travaganza! It will be egg-cellent to see everyone participating in the many categories in the hat parade. Don't forget the Year 6 colouring-in competition for 50c and colour your pictures egg-xactly! We will be egg-stremely egg-cited to judge the entries. The P & C will once again be holding an Easter Egg Raffle Fundraiser. There will be many prizes and the winners will be announced at the Easter Hat Parade.

Medical Forms Please note that some parents still need to return their child’s medical form that was sent home earlier this term. Children who have not returned this note have been provided with another one this week. As our Cross Country is on early next term, your child must have this form completed in order for them to compete on the day. This ensures we are fulfilling our duty of care towards your child.

Connecting with Community As part of our school philosophy on encouraging ‘Parents as Partners in their student’s Learning’, we would like to invite you to attend Mrs Goraya’s workshop on what Literacy and Numeracy looks like in the Junior classroom. Thursday 28th March. 2:45-3:30pm.

Mrs Herrmann Principal

P and C Update Our next meeting will be held on Monday 8th April at 7pm in the Library. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend and would like to raise an issue for discussion at a P&C meeting there is an Agenda Book in Mrs Herrmann's office where you can write about your request for discussion.

Student News Year 6 students began their fundraising efforts by holding a cake stall on Harmony Day. They raised $141.00 and wish to thank everyone for their support.
