b) MOTION. . .made by Mitchek, seconded by Knudsen to employ the following as recommended: Ivy Wendt – Elementary Secretary Pat Hevner – ½ Teacher Aide/ ½ Special Education Aide Matt Roberts – HS Head Boys Basketball Myles Smith – HS Assistant Boys Basketball All aye – motion passed 6.0 Discussion Items: 6.1 Election Update – Mr. Mitchek will get his pro statements to the County Clerk tomorrow. He

will do this personally and has also talked with one other individual who may turn some in. The Board discussed ways to help get this passed. They will have a Special Meeting to present the adopted mill levy override resolution on October 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria with the regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. also in the cafeteria.

6.2 Audit Update: The Board was presented with the past four years of financial information and

student count reports. The auditor exit letter was reviewed. 6.3 CASB Board Policies: The Board discussed the cost of having CASB update our policy book and

felt that, at this time, we could not afford this cost. 7.0 Reports: 7.1 Superintendent – Mr. Bradshaw discussed Senate Bill 191. This has every teacher being

evaluated two times a year by a template created by CDE. He has been through three trainings for this and Mr. Miller is going Oct 15 and 16 to Denver for training.

We are on priority improvement from 2010/11 reading scores. For 2011/12 we improved but

have to use Title1 funds to get low students up. The district has identified 32 students for extra help. We have offered them tutoring but they have to provide transportation. Today we have 12 kids that are planning to attend. There will be a training session for teachers on October 4 and 5.

7.2 7-12 Principal report on file in district office 8.0 Board Member Reports BOCES – none Accountability – none CASB Report – none 9.0 Communications/Recognitions: The BBQ went well.

Congratulations to Volleyball for their win this weekend. The football team also had a pretty good game. The Sophomore dinner was good. It was a good homecoming week.

Debbie Knudsen has been volunteering in the 1st and 6th grade classrooms. All of the teachers’ attitudes are great. It has also been nice to see the Administration walking around the halls and visiting classrooms. Thanks to Anna Quint for her work on the financials.
