Economic recovery boosts global gift industryAs the Fed is in the midst of tapering its stimulative quantitative easing policy, IMF has raised its forecast for global growth this year. Foreign trade continues to gain momentum, bringing an impressive sourcing upsurge in the gift industry.

The China Sourcing Fair: Gifts & Premiums in Hong Kong will take place alongside the home products and fashion trade shows on April 27-30, 2014. Three co-located shows will open on October 19-22 – the China Sourcing Fairs: Gifts & Premiums, Home Products and Mobile Electronics.

When asked about their 1H2014 purchasing plans, 86% of buyers surveyed recently by Global Sources forecast growth in imports, 60% of whom expect to exceed purchases they made during the same period last year by 10%. Economic recovery is among the top reasons for the growth, accounting for 29%. Its response share in the 1H2014 survey jumped by 16 percentage points from 1H2013.

The latest statistics from GlobalSouces.com show that international buyers are increasingly looking for gifts and premiums.
