wir sind infiziert! Genau wie Millionen Menschen weltweit haben wir uns von einem Virus anstecken lassen, der aus Hollywood zu uns kam. Der Oscar-prämierte Streifen „Black Swan“ mit einer zauberhaften Natalie Portman hat dafür gesorgt, dass Ballett in aller Munde ist; ein Kunstgenre, über das in den letzten Jahren nur selten gesprochen worden war. Kein Wunder, dass der sterbende Schwan uns inspiriert: Denn in den Händen eines Meisterstylisten gleicht die Arbeit unserer Neuheiten geradezu einem Tanz. Wir denken dabei zum Beispiel an unsere Schere „VISION“ (S. 13): Das neue Instrument der Spitzenklasse, mit eindrucksvoll markant klarem Design. was her home. TANZ DER MASKEN VENEDIG und der CARNEVALE DI VENEZIA

Zehn Tage tanzen die Masken im „Carnevale di Venezia", einem der schönsten Karnevalsereignisse weltweit. Die mit opulenter Ornamentik und Goldglöckchen verzierte „Jolly“ und sowie viele weitere prächtige Masken zieren in den Tagen des Karnevals das Bild der Lagunenstadt. Die aufwendig von Hand gearbeiteten, hochwertigen Kunstwerke tragen meist Namen, die aus der Commedia dell’arte, dem berühmten historischen Stegreif-Theater, stammen: So bedeutet beispielsweise „Colombina“ auch das kleine Täubchen. Ihre flügelähnliche Form, die schillernden Farben und die aufwendigen Dekorationen auf schwungvollen, runden Konturen stehen für betörende Weiblichkeit.

Der venezianische Karneval blickt auf eine lange Tradition zurück. Seinen Höhepunkt fand er zu Lebzeiten von Casanova im 18. Jahrhundert. Die Maskerade erlaubte ausschweifende Vergnügungen; unerkannt konnten die Venezianer der Verführung nachgehen. Die phantasievollen Verkleidungen prägten zunehmend das venezianische Lebensgefühl, so dass die Zeit der Maskerade sich immer weiter auf das ganze Jahr ausdehnte. Durch die Verbote in der Zeit der französischen Besatzung Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts verschwand der Karneval und die einst so glamouröse, glitzernde, heitere Stadt verlor damit zeitweilig ihren Charme.

Wiederbelebt erst seit 1979/80 spielt sich der heutige Karneval in Venedig auf allen bekannten Plätzen ab, in den Höfen der Palazzi, in den Gassen und auf den Kanälen. In der gesamten Stadt präsentieren die Bewohner und tausende Gäste auf ruhige und würdevolle Art ihre prachtvollen Kostüme. Musik, Maskenbälle, Theater, Umzüge und Volkskunst gehen unvergesslich in Erinnerung jedes Besuchers ein.

VENICE and the CARNEVALE DI VENEZIAThe dance of the masks lasts ten days during the Carnevale di Venezia, one of the most beautiful Carnival events anywhere in the world. The “Jolly” jester mask, featuring opulent decorations and tiny golden bells, and many other resplendent masks grace the city of canals during the Carnival celebrations. Most of the lovingly handcrafted, high-quality works of art bear names dating back to the Commedia dell’arte, the well-known historical tradition of improvisational theatre. Colombina, for instance, means “little dove.” The mask’s wing-like shape, gleaming colors, and sumptuous decorations on vibrant, rounded contours suggest captivating femininity.

The Venetian Carnival celebrations are a longstanding institution. The high point of the tradition came during the 18th century, when Casanova was alive. The masquerade permitted pleasures to run riot; safe in their anonymity, Venetians indulged in the art of seduction. The fantastic costumes became more and more a part of the Venetian lifestyle, and the masquerade season stretched on and on, almost lasting the entire year. Prohibitions during the French occupation in the late 18th century banished the Carnival festivities, leaving the city – once so glamorous, glittering and carefree – bereft of its former charm.

Revived only since 1979 / 1980, today’s Carnival in Venice takes place in all of the well-known piazzas, in the palazzo courtyards, on the narrow, crooked streets and along the canals. Throughout the city, Venetians and thousands of guests join in a calm, dignified presentation of their elaborate costumes. Music, masked balls, theatre, processions and folk art all make a lasting, unforgettable impression on visitors.

Eine anstrengende Woche lag hinter mir und das konnte man mir auch merklich ansehen. Ich spürte, dass nun die Zeit gekommen war, in der ich mir etwas gönnen musste, um mein inneres Gleichgewicht wieder zu finden. Was lag da näher als eine Verabredung mit dem Friseur meines Vertrau-ens. Mit frisch gewaschenem Haar, durch Conditioner tiefenwirksam verwöhnt, saß ich bequem auf dem Friseurstuhl. Während ich auf den weiteren Einsatz meines Stylisten wartete, schlug mir die nette Auszubildende eine Kopfmassage vor. Und wer könnte eine solche Offerte schon ablehnen!? Also schloss ich meine Augen und entspannte zunehmend. In gleichmäßigem, ruhigen Takt fuhren ihre Finger durch mein Haar und streichelten meine Kopfhaut. In meinen Träumen befand ich mich bereits am Südseestrand

auf den Seychellen, tief entspannt in Urlaubslaune. Viel zu schnell trat der Meister auf mich zu um sein Werk zu vollenden. Während die professionelle Haarschere schnippte und schnappte konnte ich zwischen einer heißen Schokolade, einem Cappuccino, einem Latte Macchiato, einem Espresso, einem Kaffee, einem Wasser und einem Ramazotti wählen. Die Auswahl im Café gleich um die Ecke ist nicht größer. Ich nahm einen Cappuccino, der wirklich ausgezeichnet schmeckte. Eine gute Entscheidung – mein Friseurbesuch, der Haarschnitt fast schon Nebensache. Ich könnte mich an diesen Rund-um-Wohlfühlservice gewöhnen. Vielleicht komme ich nächste Woche noch mal zum Waschen und Legen?

All too soon, the master stepped toward me to complete his work. While his professional hairdressing scissors snipped away, I was offered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, latte, espresso, coffee, water, or Ramazotti. Even the café on the corner doesn’t offer a broader selection. I chose a cappuccino, which was truly delicious. It was a good decision – my visit to the hairdresser, I mean. The cut itself was almost incidental. I could certainly get used to this all-around well-being service. Maybe I’ll come back next week for a wash and set?

I had just put a stressful week behind me, and it was noticeable just from how I looked. I felt that the time had come to indulge in order to regain my inner balance. What could be more fitting than an appointment with my trusted stylist? With freshly washed hair, pampered with deeply effective conditioner, I sat comfortably in the stylist’s chair. As I waited for his next steps, a nice young trainee offered me a scalp massage. Who would turn down an offer like that? I closed my eyes and allowed myself to gradually relax. 250 ml milk150 ml cream75 g chopped semisweet chocolate1 piece vanilla bean1 pinch chili powder2 tsp. sugar (chocolate curls, cocoa powder or whipped cream)

Combine milk, cream, chocolate, vanilla bean and sugar in a pot and heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is creamy. Pour into cups and garnish with chocolate curls, cocoa powder, or whipped cream.

250 ml Milch150 ml Sahne75 g Schokolade, zartbitter, gehackt1 Stück Vanilleschote1 Prise Chilli2 TL Zuckerevtl. Schokoladenraspel,Kakaopulver oder geschlagene Sahne

Milch, Sahne, Schokolade, Vanilleschote und Zucker in einen Topf geben und unter Rühren langsam erhitzen. Warten, bis die Schokolade geschmolzen und das Ganze cremig ist. Anschließend in Tassen füllen und mit Schokoraspeln, Kakaopulver oder geschlagener Sahne verzieren.
