Hilda contreras, danza azteca cultural ketzaliztli in recognition of her commitment to our community and environment

Hilda Contreras has been involved with Baja Splash since its inception 15 years ago. She volunteers her time to help seniors, at-risk-youth, and others by providing them free Aztec cultural drum and dance lessons and has done so for 25 years. To help conserve Aztec culture and traditions, her group also partici-pates at festivals, schools, and events throughout the region, including Baja Splash and Noche de Estrellas. Her vision is in line with the Aquarium’s, as she believes in uniting people and inspiring them to care for our Earth and its resources, including precious water. She passionately communicates these mes-sages when Ketzaliztli shares their song and dance traditions.
