• Army Reserve Mess Project CFMWS will provide increased Accounting and HR services to Res F and PSP will provide Regional Mess Managers to assist Army Reserve Messes with their operations. – Positions funded by Army and trained/supervised by PSP

• FORCE testing PSP assists Army Reserve units. – Testing required for promotion, career courses and deployment – NOTE: We anticipate that Reserves will have to complete the FORCE test annually. We

will be working with the Army to determine how to best support that change in policy and specifically how to also execute support for the new FORCE Incentive Program.

• DFIT.CA All Reservists have full access to DFIT.CA for individual fitness training.

Return to Duty Program: Total accumulated Return to Duty is 1474 personnel. To date, 334 personnel have been returned to full time duty, and 828 personnel have been assisted in their transition. National Return to Duty averages: approximately 22% (FY 2014-2015)

Casualty Administration and Advocacy: Home adaptations/special needs equipment, vehicle adaptations, home assistance ; Assistance through Funds

Peer Support: Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS), Soldier On, Injured Soldier Network, Helping Others by Providing Empathy (HOPE)

Transition Services • National Coordination of all Career Transition activities:

Second Career Assistance Network seminars, Medical seminars, Long Term Planning seminars, Career Transition Workshops, Transition support and programs specific to ill & injured, Publications/tools that support transition counselling.

• Services and support are meant to support a Reservists’ conditions of service that impact their families, especially during times of deployments, training and extended absences.

Current Provision of Support to Res F PersonnelWithin the current construct of the SOT Funds and CFPAF, Res F Personnel have access to support from the following:

• The Military Families Fund

• The Distress Loan/Grant Program within the Canadian Forces Personnel Assistance Fund (CFPAF)

• The BMO Student Line of Credit – Available for qualifying members and their families who wish to pursue post secondary education

• The Hospital Comforts Fund

• The Soldier On Fund

Proposed Provision of Support to Res F Personnel (FY15-16)

Over the next few months, a new construct of available support for the CAF community will be launched, current programs being restructured to meet the needs of the community. Res F Member will have greater access to the following:

•Distress and Preventive Loan Program – Provides financial assistance to qualifying applicants to relieve or prevent financial distress

•Emergency Grant Program – Allow the chain of command and financial counselors with the ability to address an immediate distress situation

• Supports former and currently serving members with a mental or physical injury/illness to adopt an active lifestyle through sport and recreation

• Over $2.3M has been disbursed to provide access to equipment, training and events allowing participants to: – learn a new sport such as skiing, horseback riding, fly fishing, and kayaking;

– train with and compete against soldiers with similar injuries and illnesses from other nations; and

– push their physical and mental limits through participation in regional and national sporting events.

• $3.5M has been raised by donations from Canadians, corporations and other organizations

Reservists recently deployed or sent on training, or ill and injured and posted to the IPSC /JPSU can access the grant to send their kids to summer camps (overnight, day camp or special needs).

More info: www.supportourtroops.ca/camps•SOT Summer Camps provide an opportunity for children of military families to escape from the stressors of military life, with priority given to children of deployed personnel.

•In summer 2014, more than 570 children of military members enjoyed a complimentary week at Camp Maple Leaf, Muskoka Woods, and other camps across the country.

•The Military Families Fund has underwritten the cost of camp registrations.

•2015 camp registration is now open.
