Friday, August 9, 2019 – Making Connections in the Profession Dress: business attire, comfortable shoes
What to bring: Valid Photo Identification. No cell phones, Apple watches, cameras, or other “smart” devices;
minimal metal should be worn (jewelry, shoes, buckles, or carried in pockets) to expedite the security
screening process. 8:00 a.m. Meet at the Law School – You will be asked to store any belongings
in your lockers before you walk to the courthouses. No cell phones
are permitted in either courthouse (see below for further
guidelines).

Guidelines for entering the courthouses Cell phones, cameras, laptops, and other communication devices are prohibited in the courthouses except when a permit has been issued by a judge or in the case of a juror with a valid juror summons. Lockboxes are available at the entrances to secure cell phones and smaller items. Cost for the lockbox rental is a quarter. The replacement fee for lost keys is $20. Visitors and jurors must process through the security screening area. This will include placing wallets, belts, coins, and other metal items in bins. Please leave unneeded metal objects, such as: scissors, tools with a shaft exceeding four inches, nail files, pocket knives, box cutters, pepper spray, etc. in your car or home. Be sure to take all items with you when leaving the screening area. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from being scanned with a magnetometer or metal detection device, please let an officer at the x-ray machine know before being screened.
Saturday, August 10 and Saturday, August 17 Making Connections in the Community -- Elon Law Reaches Out Dress: Your Elon Law Reaches Out t-shirt; this will be provided to you Elon Law Reaches Out is one of our school’s most enduring traditions, dating back to the first entering class in 2006. Over the course of a few days, students will have the opportunity to sign up for a variety of service projects in the Greater Greensboro community. Students will receive an email during the first week of orientation and will be able to sign up for time slots online between Tuesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 8. Partners, significant others, and spouses are welcome to participate.
