Mobile Marketing Watch

In this article it speaks about how the iPad mini’s are hot on the market – when actually they speak of them as being hot as stolen! There was approximately $1.5 million worth of iPad, however the thieves did not make off with all of them as their get away car was actually too small and therefore they did not take all 3,600 of the newest technology.

EBay explains how the increase in 4G phones is actually boosting the economy. Due to more easily assessable and on the go internet it means that there is an increase in internet users and consumption. Although this will help the economy, it will also see social networks slowing down. This article includes forecasts and statistics which makes the article more reliable.I like this article because it shows how significant the 4G has become and how much it can help our economy in this economic crisis.

This article explains the current situation of the IPad mini in a positive light after consumers who have ordered the IPad mini have received them earlier than anticipated. I like the article because they include the feedback of one of the consumers explaining how much they love it as well as also including a bit about the future for the Ipad mini and what to expect.

Near Field CommunicationNear Field Communication - is a form of

contactless communication between devices. These devices could be smartphones or tablets. NFC doesn’t require any steps of

connection all that is needed is one device being waved near the other device. It is easy,

quick and simple.

Proximity MarketingProximity Marketing offers an effective and affordable solution

for communicating with a large audience within the proximity of your advertised product or service. This is achieved by sending multimedia content to the potential customer’s mobile phone

using a Bluetooth or Wireless device.

E.g. In the marketing of Shaun of the Dead if your phone entered a ‘zone’ such as a pub you were sent a game to play.

WhatsApp smartphone app“I can stay in contact with my friends easily and for free!”

This app has mix reviews from only 1 star to its maximum of 5 stars. Many people said that when the iPhone 5 came out they had not redesigned it to fit the screen of that phone. Others said it was also irritating and difficult to type on. This lost them many customers as it was a very popular app, many iPhone 5 users are now against it because they had not updated the app to support that software. However some people dont mind that the app doesnt fit the screen and are living with it until apple redesign the app and others on older iPhones found it faultless and a great way to send free texts, photos and videos.

Features – Sends SMS and MMS messages via the internet, free of charge. Available on Blackberry, iPhone, Android and Symbian. To connect to other people they only need to have your number and their automatically added.

Whatsapp could be improved by updating the app to fit the screen of iPhone 5s. They could also improve on sending messages quicker and not show messages on home screen. This could be done in notifications settings where you could hide message on main screen, like apple has done for text/iMessage.
