Originally from the Seattle Washington area Andre Fili moved to Placerville, where he eventually joined the High school wrestling team. When asked, how would you describe yourself in school? He used one word, Trouble, I wasn’t the best in High School but with a tight knit group of friends, shout out to Boss Biz” he feels because, “we had each other’s back it worked out; we turned out to be pretty ok people. I would agree it helped him pretty good! He remembers watching season 1 of Ultimate Fighter Griffith vs Bonner, that is when he had his mind set on being a fighter. “Around 13 or 14, I was still wrestling at 14, but around 15 I started doing jiu jitsu with the idea of getting in the ring.” Once in the ring he developed an aggressive style of fighting, similar to that of his coach Uriah Faber in my opinion at least. It is that, in your face ready to take you out, mentality, that always makes for exciting fights, Fili also takes pride in “never being in a boring fight,” and reassuring me that he don’t fight safe. As far as diet and exercise, you might think its easy to stay mean and lean and weigh ins come easy…His diet is just as aggressive as he is, working together with Jeremy Buendia (Buendia Pro Performance) out of Roseville, Fili says, “he’s got me on a real strict diet, its exactly what I need, consisting of fresh fruit little bit of veggies and meats and lots of lean Turkey, combined with protein shakes. “It gets the weight off, I cut a lot of weight for this fight, I’m not one of these guys with abs naturally, I’m Hawaiian I get a little belly if I don’t train correctly or eat right,” He says. What motivates you? Belt, Fame, Money? Of course the money would motivate me, a belt would be good and being famous would be Rad! But the people around me! I want the people around me to be set! Provide a certain lifestyle for myself and them, and the only honestly way to do that is by Fighting”. I dropped out of high school and quit my job to focus on fightingAnd it doesn’t hurt that I love to do it…

Andre “The Fury” Fili interest in the UFC started as a young teen in High School. “I knew I wanted to do it [UFC] around

13 or 14, I knew that’s what I wanted to do!”

“I want to go to the

UFC,I deserve to go”! Originally from the Seattle Washington area Andre Fili moved to Placerville, where he eventually joined the High school wrestling team. When asked, how would you describe yourself in school? He used one word, “Trouble, I wasn’t the best in High School but with a tight knit group of friends, shout out to Boss Biz” he feels because, “we had each other’s back it worked out; we turned out to be pretty ok people. I would agree it helped him pretty good! It is that, in your face ready to take you out, mentality, that always makes for exciting fights, Fili also takes pride in “never being in a boring fight,” and reassuring me that he don’t fight safe. What motivates you? Belt, Fame, Money?

“Of course the money would motivate me, a belt would be good and being

famous would be Rad! But the people around me! I want the people around

me to be set! Provide a certain lifestyle for myself and them, and the only

honestly way to do that is by Fighting”. I dropped out of high school and

quit my job to focus on fighting… And it doesn’t hurt that I love to do it…

Explain your knee accident against your team member Derrick Burnsed, your only loss before he was your team mate…

Fili won his first pro fight in 1 min. and in his 2nd

bout 16

seconds worth of punches is all that was needed against Cain

Campos in the cage. Not sure if any one of those fighters has

done anything since then; I wondered and had to ask whether he

had heard anything from any one of those guys? Cause I

hadn’t…“No, I have not” he says with a little chuckle “wherever

they are I hope they’re doing good.” That started a 4-0 winning

streak, against some tough fighters. That is until he met his team

member Derrick Burnsed, long before he was Fili’s team mate,

handing Fili his first loss due an accidental knee injury sustained

in the 5th and final round. That was a hurtful loss and something

Fili will carry with him forever; “I had a lot of knee injuries, I

went into the fight with an injured knee, it was more of a learning

experience, about doing the right thing and going into the ring as

close to 100% as you can.” “That’s what brought me to Team

Alpha Male, Alpha Male and that loss changed my life.”

“Burnsed is a good friend and an awesome team mate, I actually

come to him a lot, “he’s one of the hardest working guys on the

team. It shows when we fought he was doing the right thing and I

wasn’t, “and you see the results of that.” “Now I’m with Team Alpha Male I’m doing the right thing. “I mean it

sucks to lose, but if I’m going to lose to someone man, I don’t

mind losing to Burnsed, cause , he’s just a bad ass dude…He’s

the man!”

Who was your toughest fight? Early in his career he felt his third fight vs Justin Smitley, he says “just balls and fear” motivated him to finish that fight, “just so I don’t get my head kicked off.” As of yet it has to be Alexander Crispim; with great Jiu Jitzu and is very well established, the fight went the distance with Fili coming on top with winning all three rounds unanimously. Fight of the night also went to Fili. “Probably the toughest fight I’ve had.

Who do you have you sights on in the UFC?

Fili training with fellow team mate and

Tachi Palace Fights contender Anthony Avila

“Nah I don’t really wanna

call anybody out or anything

like that.” He’s more focused

on still winning fights and

having the right people see

him. “AND SEE THAT

I DESERVE TO BE

IN THE UFC & I

WANNA GO! Being in

the UFC with some of his top

team mates in the UFC is his

ambition. MMA-KO wants to

help you get there. “I just

want to say thanks to

MMAKO, love MMAKO”

KID BUT F***K IT, I’M A TOUGH HAWAIIAN KID. WE’RE GONNA GO IN THROW BIG

PUNCHES, EXPECT SUBMISSIONS FROM BOTH FIGHTERS, IT SHOULD BE A GREAT

MATCHUP, “I’M GONNA COME OUT ON TOP.” HE CONCLUDED WITH A MESSAGE, HE

WOULD LIKE TO SEND A SPECIAL THANKS TO WALLACE FOR TAKING THE FIGHT AFTER

SAUNDERS DROPPED OUT AND, “I’LL SEE YOU IN THE CAGE, IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT

FIGHT, LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!”

IT’S KINDA MY OUTLET BESIDES MMA IT’S MORE OF A FUN THING!

Fili (in black tshirt) makes an impromptu

appearance on stage with long-time
