Consortium for School Networking | 1025 Vermont Avenue NW, Suite 1010, Washington DC 20005 Phone: 202-861-2676 | Fax: 202-393-2011 | [email protected] | www.cosn.org
Welcome! The Missouri Educational Technology Leaders (METL) welcomes you to our 2013 Missouri CTO Clinic, co-sponsored by the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). Our conference theme this year is “Innovative Leadership for 21st Century Learning”. This clinic and the time you will spend with your peers will help you develop your capacity to lead technology initiatives with long-term, big-picture perspectives. The focus is about creating a vision of how technology will deliver 21st century learning environments and meet educational goals. You will gain leadership ideas to take back to your district that will help shape technology innovation and contribute to meeting your district’s goals. Our clinic opens with a welcome message from Patrick Jones, Chair, Missouri Educational Technology Leaders (METL), and Dresden Farrand, Senior Director of Membership and Chapters at CoSN. The program will then kick off with the Opening Keynote: “Two Leadership Styles Worth Considering” by Dr. Paul Sims, Concordia University of Chicago. Our afternoon keynote speaker will be Dr. Ronald Ferguson from Harvard University speaking on the topic “Technology Leadership Supporting Closing the Gap”. The 2013 Missouri CTO Clinic will provide tremendous benefit by opening avenues of sharing with and learning from your fellow technology leaders. The Missouri Educational Technology Leaders have carefully selected sessions which will expand your vision about technology leadership, including: Panel Discussion: Seat at the Table, The Importance of Technology Included in District Decision Making; Teambuilding Session based on The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni; Technology Aspects of the Smarter Balanced Assessments; and Closing the Gap: Turning Data into Action. These sessions will allow you to see how other districts around the state are stepping up to the challenges of leading technology programs in these exciting times of change and innovation. This opportunity would not be possible without the support from a great group of vendor sponsors. Be sure to meet with the K-12 technology vendors who will be here at the clinic exhibiting their latest, cutting-edge products and services. We encourage you to share your needs and discuss the challenges you see in your district with our vendor sponsors. They may have just the right product or service to help you plan strategically. We trust you will find these two days filled with opportunities to learn and expand your leadership. Again, welcome to the 2013 Missouri CTO Clinic!
