Mise en scene- I choose this plain white background because the main focus is on the person so I wanted the attention all on this person and make him stand out. I wanted this person in uniform as he looks smart. This is a portrait photograph so obviously the person is in the centre of the photo and got direct eye line. I could of improved the mice en scene by not having uniform it may look more effective. Mode of address- this body language is very simple and blunt as it’s a portrait and the facial expression is more important and want the audience to focus more on the face. The subjects facial expression has a very blunt facial expression, the audience will react to this photo and think he may be a important person as he's got a serious face and smart uniform so this may imply he's a business man. I could of improve the mode of address by putting a crop such as glasses onto the subject as this will make the face more interesting and draw the Camera- this shot is a mid shot close up because I wanted the facial expression to stand out. I could of improved the shot by maybe having the shot even closer. Conclusion- David Baileys portfolio photograph influenced me to do a shot like this. My strengths are that the shot is good, and my weakness is that the subject

DESCRIPTION

Mise en scene- I choose this location because the background is plain so it makes the subject stand out. I choose the subject to be in non uniform. The light I used is indoor light so the subject is bright and its not a dull dark photograph. Our group focused on the subjects facial expression as he looks serious. I could of improved the mise en scene if the background was white so the person stands out even more and so the photo doesn’t look that dull. Mode of address- I choose this body language because it makes the subject confident. The way his head is held is held high is to imply that he is proud of himself and what he does in his life, the audience would react that he is a serious important person by this. This is a direct eye line shot because portfolios look more effective by looking at the camera and it makes them look a lot more significant. Our group thought the subjects facial expression worked effectively. The mode of address could have been better if the subject had natural light on him. Camera- this shot is a mid shot close up because I wanted the facial expression to stand out. I could of improved the shot by maybe having the shot further away and tilted lightly above of him.

Mise en scene- I choose this location because like my first portfolio photograph it has a plain white background, this brings the subject out and draws the attention out onto the person and his facial expression. In this photograph I used the indoor lights so the subject isn't dark, the light brings the person out as well as the background. This subject has got glasses on as a few of David Baileys photography has got people with these types of glasses on, it inspired me to do the same, these glasses brings out the persons facial expression and makes the photograph look more appealing to the audience. Our group focussed on the subjects glasses as it looks more effective.

Mode of address- we choose this body language as it looks confident and makes the photograph a lot more interesting. I choose this facial expression because It looks very formal and blunt, the audience will respond to this by thinking the subject is a important person and takes thing seriously. I choose this direct eyeline as it makes the subject look more serious.

Camera- this shot is a mid shot close up because I wanted the facial expression to stand out. I could of improved the shot by maybe having the shot even closer.

Mise en scene- this photograph is the same as my second picture, but this shot is more closer as I wanted the facial expression to be in detail. I choose this location because it has a plain white background, this brings the subject out and draws the attention out onto the person and his facial expression. In this photograph I used the indoor lights so the subject isn't dark, the light brings the person out as well as the background. Mode or address- you cant really see this person body language as it’s a close up shot. But he looks proud and confident. I choose this facial expression because he doesn’t look too serious like the other photographs, he's got a slight smirk in his face to make it more interesting. The audience would react to this facial expression by thinking he's not too serious and he's got a fun side to him because of his smirk. This is a direct eye line shot like all my other portfolio photos because I think it gets the audience attention even more.

Camera- this shot is a close up shot because the facial expression and the glasses stand out. Our group thought the glasses was effective as it makes the photo not boring and it’s a style of a professional photographer.
