The Child Care Center of theEpiscopal Church of the Messiah ,Central Islip, is presently ac-cepting registration for thespring term. This non-denominational center takeschildren of three years and olderon a full or a half-day schedule orfor after school care. Childrenmay attend two, three, or fivedays a week. A full program ofsupervised activities is offered ,including for those who desire it ,a course in Christian religiousinstruction. tary School Dental Health Weekposter contest came to a grandfinale with the announcement of15 winners chosen from the entirestudent body. This contest is heldannually along with individualclassroom activities to developthe interest of the children inmaintaining good dental healthhabits.

Each third grade studentreceives a dental health kit andemphasis is placed on properbrushing of the teeth. This yearthe winners were:

At Ruth C. Kinney ElementarySchool , Mr. Engel's fourth gradeclass has been very busy un-covering what Colonial Americareally was like. Into the timetunnel they went , winding up incolonial villages made by groupsfrom ice cream sticks, tooth-picks , milk cartons, and lots ofpaint and glue. A village can 'treally be a village without peopleto work and run it. With this inmind , each child in the classdecided what job he or she wouldlike to do if they were living inColonial America. In they came,dressed appropriately for theirchosen job. Girls in long, widedresses and bonnets like thewomen of Colonial America , andboys dressed as blacksmiths ,ship builders , farmers, and otherpeople necessary to run a colonialvi l lage. The boys and girlsagreed that their jobs would havebeen extremely hard , and theywere quite happy that they live in1970 modern America.

Outgoing PresidentKenneth Jones introducedJudge Alexander Kramer , in-stalling officer and director , whoin turn introduced and installedthe members of the Board ofDirectors. Those members were :Kenneth Jones, Elsie Breslin ,Howard Ellis , Herman Hen-drickson , Bruce Garden , DavidGliboff , Fred Cordes, JohnLundstedt, and James Galletto ,and Judge Kramer. Absent wasRobert Kerr.

Invited as special guests wereall past presidents. Attendingwere: Judge Kramer who

presided from 1938 to 1939,Howard Ellis , 1952-53 ; JohnManser , 1953-54; Victor Arnott ,1965-66 ; Bruce Garben , 1966-67;and Kenneth Jones , 1967-69. Alltold , there have been 14 pastpresidents.

The new officers for 1970 werethen installed : President -Richard Panzner 1st vicepresident - Francis Duck, 2ndVice President - Harold Zeman,3rd Vice President - ThomasAliotta , Secretary - Emma GreigTreasurer - Warren Huber.

Mr. Panzner gave a shortresume of the progress made in1970 such as off street parkingand beautification of the town.
