Cheerleading CompetitionOn Friday night before a
capacity crowd at West Jr. Hi ,our BYA cheerleaders andTwirlers put on a dazzling per-formance. All the teamsdisplayed their talents well.
In the traveling team com-petition the Barracudacheerleaders won first place andin the Intra-murals the Cheyennecheerleaders came out on top.

Handicapped ArtistsShow Works
Two handicapped artists inIslip Town 's HandicappedProgram will display anexhibition of their works in theMain Street School, 401 MainStreet , Islip, for the next threeweeks "which shows that beinghandicapped doesn 't necessarilysmother creative ability."
James J. Graham , 29, atriplegic since an automobileaccident when he was 18, willprovide some of his sketches andJames J. Dugoniths, 24, who hasbeen a quadriplegic since 11, aresult of Muscular Dystrophy,will show his etching series.
Graham , who has both legs andhis right hand disabled andlearned to do his activities withhis left , attended Nassau Com-munity College and StateUniversity at Farmingdale. Heplays the guitar and also Is activewith the Islip Town HandicappedAction Line.
Dugoniths is a graduate ofHofstra University and attendedMarshall University in WestVirginia working towards aMaster 's degree in art.
The general public is invited toview the exhibit Monday thruFriday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.through December 12th. Theartists will attend a final daysopen house from 7 to 9 p.m. onFriday December 12th.

Offered By PALThe Police Athletic League will
begin a horseback riding trainingprogram for boys and girls ages8-18 it was announced by Lt.George Sloane, PAL Command-ing Officer.
Jerry Napolitano, owner of theBar 7 Stables, 560 BIydenburghRd., Hauppauge, has offered hisindoor and outdoor arenas ,horses and instructors to PAL.Members will be taught theproper method of grooming,cleaning and care of horse andtack. Basic riding instructionswill be given by experiencedinstructors in one hour sessionsonce weekly. Members will bedivided according to experience.
The cost per member is $2.50($1.50 insurance , $1 PALmembership) . The cost perlesson is$5. The program will becoordinated by DetectiveSergeant AI Baldwin.

C. where theyslept at the Fort Belvoir Armybase, walked the Lincoln trailviewing the Lincoln Memorial ,W a s h i n g t o n M o n u m e n t ,Petrerson House (where Lincolndied) , Fords Theatre (whereLincoln was shot) , the WhiteHouse, the Smithsonian Institute.Attending were: Steven Mott ,Joel Tarantowicz , Brian Mott ,Kenny Czarnicki , Chris DePalma , James Ruggieri , ChrisMaskiell , Lee Maskiell andSteven Curring.
An official at Beale AFB,Calif . , has announced thepromotion of Gerard T. Hunt toairman first class in the U. S. AirForce. Airman Hunt , son of Mr.and Mrs. Gerard A. Hunt of 90Floyd St., Brentwood , is am u n i t i o n s m a i n t e n a n c especialist with a unit of theStrategic Air Command. Theairman is a 1971 graduate ofBrentwood High School.
Loretta Park PTA in con-junction with the 6th grade classwill hold a Flea Market onFriday, Dec. 5th from 9:30 a.m.until 3:30 p.m. in the school gym.A wide variety of items will beavailable including plants , planthangars, jewelry, candles manyChristmas ornaments and whiteelephants. Chester , son of Mr. andMrs. James Chester of 71 SaintPeters Drive , Brentwood , hasbeen appointed a midshi pmanunder the Naval Reserve OfficerTraining Corps College Programat the university of Michigan ,Ann Arbor. Men and women arc-selected for this program on thebasis of scholastic aptitude , highschool grades , characterreferences , leadership potentialand physical qualifications. Theyreceive military instruction inaddition to regular academicstudies. Upon graduation ,Chester will be commissioned aNavy ensign or Marine Corpssecond lieutenant.
Brentwood s South Junior HighTwirling and Kickline teamseach returned with first prizetrophies in their first contest ofthe school year, held at BayShore High School. The Kicklineteam consists of 40 girls and thetwirling team of thirteen. Thetrophies may be seen by thepublic displayed in the schoollobby. The next contest the girlswill be participating in isscheduled for Sunday, Dec. 14, atMassapequa High School.Parents and friends are welcometo attend.
