Prakash when he emerged as the prime suspect in the now infamous Sukna land scam case. e cashiering by the incumbent army chief means that Prakash has been stripped of his rank and honours. Prakash will not be addressed by an army rank now, with the force making him a civilian. Prakash was charged with backing a private real estate developer Deepak Agar- wal in an effort to acquire a piece of land just outside the Sukna military station near Siliguri in north Bengal. He had sought to influence the process through the office of Lt Gen. P K Rath, the Corps commander based in Sukna. Rath was also convicted by a court martial. e case had erupted in the last days of the tenure of Gen. (retd) Kapoor. 'It is observed that some hacker groups are launching distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on the web sites of government and pri- vate organisations in India. e attacks may be targeted to different web sites of reputed organisations,' CERT-In, the national nodal agency for responding to computer secu- rity incidents, said in an advi- sory on its web site. 'ese attacks are being launched through popular DDoS tools and can consume bandwidth requiring appropri- ate proactive actions,' it said. e agency has asked users to deploy adequate security sys- tems to deal with these attacks originating through DdoS.
