    LIEBERT UPS AND POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

    ELECTRICAL INSTALLER RESPONSIBILITIES The Electrical Contractor installation scope for Liebert UPS & PDU systems includes, but is not limited to:

    1) Receiving & Unloading: Schedule delivery with the trucking company. The trucker name and phone number along the tracking number will be available from Hedrick Associates one day after the equipment leaves the factory. Delivery may consist of multiple deliveries. The installer shall mark the shipping papers with notes if any damage is noticeable to the packaging. Upon un-packaging the equipment the installer shall notify Hedrick Associates if any concealed damage is uncovered.

    2) Installation Manuals Installer shall review the equipment installation manuals and install the

    equipment to the manufacturers recommended procedures as outlined in the installation manual. Where not specifically outlined in the manuals or submittals the installer shall follow common electrical installation practices.

    3) Submittals Drawings Installer shall review equipment submittal drawings and note any concerns to Hedrick Associates and the owner. The installer shall review all notes on the submittals to confirm the equipment will be installed to the manufacturer’s specifications. Wire and conduit sizing shall meet local codes and shall be sized to meet capacities as required by the equipment manufacturer.

    4) External Overcurrent Protection Devices with size, type, and with accessories required per

    submittal drawings, shall be supplied and installed by electrical installer. Power wiring and lug accessories, sized per NEC requirement or engineer’s cabling schedule, shall also be supplied and terminated per UPS and PDU installation manual requirement.

    5) Control Wiring between the multiple system cabinets may or may not be included by Liebert, depending on equipment layout. Reference submittal drawings to determine if they are provided by Liebert, or provided by installer. Installation and termination of control wiring is the responsibility of the installer.

    6) Pre-Installation Site Visits; Factory Start up and Owners training - The installer shall coordinate

    with Hedrick Associates the scheduling of factory start up service and required testing and training services. Two week’s notice of the start-up date is required for scheduling the service technician.
