Out of nowhere, in front of my face, was a womancrying in desperation. She, her disabled husband and two chil-dren were about to be evicted. Her hope was gone. There wasno money and nowhere to go. The title company took the car

real name) had lost her job six months before and her husbandbecame disabled three months later. The electric and the rentwere two and a half months behind and the water was due to

be turned off in a few days. Where in Aiken County do you

Yes, to Annie, it looked impossible. I prayed with her, tried toencourage her and give her hope and told her I would be intouch in a couple of days. As I drove home, I felt over-whelmed. Three months rent! Lord, this is beyond me. Howcan I help her?The next morning, I awoke and the Lord impressed me with

job. He has invited me to help not take over. I listened andcalled whom He put in my mind. Yes, the woman at Commu-nity Action could help Annie but not until next week; then, onsecond thought, she could squeeze her in tomorrow. I rode out

band up at 7:30 the next morning so we could go to the vari-ous agencies for the documentation needed by CommunityAction for the scheduled appointment at 10:00 am.

Annie was feeling a little better but was also waitingfor the other shoe to drop. She had told me that everythingwas always hard for her. When she had finished her appoint-ment at Community Action, three months rent had been paidas well as three months electric. The water company was noti-fied and disconnection was discontinued. Halleluiah!!! They

never seen anyone receive three months rent; even one

    lieving.

Over the next few months, I reiterated that she must

as before when there was a problem. One day, I asked herabout her relationship with God. She answered that she wassaved. I got the impression that she was saying what she

had been raised in many foster homes and each one requiredthat she go to their church. When she no longer lived in foster

church. As our relationship progressed, I could sense a

benefits of being a Christ Central client were. She becamemore open, listened more, and considered her future. She en-rolled in the Count Technical School. This was a big step offaith for her. We prayed about it and Annie was very awarethat if God wanted her there, He would make a way. I sawchanges in her thinking and action to back it up. God wassurely moving in her life. I prayed often to God to open thedoor to see where she was with Him. This particular morningas I prayed I knew this was the morning. As I drove her toschool, I noticed she was upset, I asked her what was the mat-

    saved mean

Annie responded; and now the angels in heaven rejoice alongwith us for Annie who was lost and now is found.Thank you, God. You are awesome. There is none like you.

One Saturday in September as Larry was returning to Hope Plaza he

St. Seeing they were attempting to stop a small unattended child from stepping into traf-

fic, Larry pulled over and got to the child just as it stepped off the curb. All three men at

once were struck by their being placed by God at the right place and time to save this

child. Larry states that this event has made a difference in both Huey and Ira as they con-

Speaking Up in the Right Way and at theRight Time!

Recently one of our faithful Christ Central supporters noticed that a local grocery store was tossing out fresh

vegetables that still could be used.

tion. She shared the need for fresh vegetables even if they had passed their peak, and raised the awareness of

growing need for food in the Aiken area. (CCM-Aiken has been adding 20+ new families per week to the

    weekly food distribution.)

Results: the store manager called to say come once a week and we will have produce boxed up and ready for

you. Last week we picked up 4 large boxes of apples, tomatoes, peppers, and other very useable vegetables.
