As we have seen, God our Father placesextreme importance on the area of

“our hearts,” as a point of both “contactand (ongoing) communication,” towhich we in our humanity refer to as

“Communion.”

Romans 10 Verses 8-11 “But what saith it? Theword is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth … and in thyheart: that is, The word of Faith, which we preach;”(9) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth theLord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart thatGod hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt besaved.” (10) “For with the heart man believeth untorighteousness; and with the mouth confession ismade unto salvation.” (11) “For the scripture saith,whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

“Obedience,” is “The Fruit ofLove,” it is “The New Wine” in the cask

waiting to mature. It is “The Oil” in

“The Reserve,” waiting for the touch of

“Heavens Fire!”

“The Knowledge of God His Willand His Ways,” go without any form of

mental assent. An intellectualknowledge … is no relationship, it is a

dry barren twig called, “formalism!”

John 14 Verse 15 “If ye Love Me, keepMy Commandments.”

“The Knowledge of God … ”

True knowledge, without truerelationship, is both fruitless anduseless, it is unattainable withoutLove,

“For God is LOVE!”

Isaiah 40 Verses 10-14 “Behold, The Lord GOD willcome with strong [hand], and His arm shall rule forHim: behold, His reward [is] with Him, and His workbefore Him.”

(11) “He shall feed his flock like ashepherd: he shall gather the lambswith his arm, and carry [them] in hisbosom, [and] shall gently lead thosethat are with young.”(12) “Who hath measured the waters in the hollowof His Hand, and meted out heaven with the span,and comprehended the dust of the earth in ameasure, and weighed the mountains in scales,and the hills in a balance?”

(13) “Who hath directed The Spirit ofThe LORD, or [being] his counsellorhath taught Him?”

(14) “With whom took He counsel,and [who] instructed Him, andtaught Him in the path of judgment,and taught Him knowledge, andshewed to Him the way ofunderstanding?”

Isaiah 40 Verses 28-31

“Hast thou not known? hast thounot heard, [that] The EverlastingGod, The LORD, The Creator of theends of the earth, fainteth not,neither is weary? [there is] nosearching of His Understanding.”(29) “He giveth power to the faint; and to [them thathave] no might He increaseth strength.”(30) “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, andthe young men shall utterly fall:”

(31) “But they that wait upon TheLORD shall renew [their] strength;they shall mount up with wings aseagles; they shall run, and not beweary; [and] they shall walk, andnot faint.”

God gave promise to Abraham in regard toseveral statements that relayed the depth ofrelationship that The Lord God Almighty desired ofHis friend and companion. The statements to whichI refer are,

i) “ … walk before Me,and be thou perfect.”

Genesis 17 Verse 1 “And when Abram was ninetyyears old and nine, The LORD appeared to Abram,

and said unto him, I [AM] The AlmightyGod; walk before Me, and be thouperfect.”

ii) “ … Blessing I will bless thee,and multiplying I will multiply thee.”

Hebrews 6 Verse 14 “Saying, Surely BlessingI will Bless thee, and Multiplying Iwill Multiply thee.”

Lets just look for a moment at the wonderful wordscontained in

Psalm 19 Verses 1-14 “The Heavens declare TheGlory of God; and the firmament sheweth HisHandywork.”

(2) “Day unto day uttereth speech, and night untonight sheweth knowledge.”(3) “[There is] no speech nor language, [where] theirvoice is not heard.” (4) “Their line is gone outthrough all the earth, and their words to the end ofthe world. In them hath He set a tabernacle for thesun,” (5) “Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out ofhis chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to runa race.” (6) “His going forth [is] from the end of theHeaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: andthere is nothing hid from the heat thereof.”

(7) “The Law of The LORD [is]perfect, converting the soul: TheTestimony of The LORD [is] sure,making wise the simple.”(8) “The Statutes of The LORD [are]right, rejoicing the heart: TheCommandment of The LORD [is]pure, enlightening the eyes.”(9) “The Fear of The LORD [is]clean, enduring for ever: TheJudgments of The LORD [are] true[and] righteous altogether.”

(10) “More to be desired [are they]than gold, yea, than much fine gold:sweeter also than honey and thehoneycomb.” (11) “Moreover by themis thy servant warned: [and] inkeeping of them [there is] greatreward.” (12) “Who can understand[his] errors? cleanse thou me fromsecret [faults].” (13) “Keep back thyservant also from presumptuous[sins]; let them not have dominionover me: then shall I be upright, andI shall be innocent from the greattransgression.” (14) “Let the words ofmy mouth, and the meditation of myheart, be acceptable in thy sight, OLORD, my strength, and myredeemer.”

The Blessings of God, take us far out of the

realm of “self and self-seeking.” Thepurity of God’s Gifts, ought to be more than enoughto stimulate purity of response on our behalf:

Often, we are meant to “Launch out intothe deep for the draught of fishes,”those that swim in areas not readily discernable bythe natural eye!

If I produce “the hundredfold” in my lifethen I have only reproduced the product of theoriginal plan.

God’s Plan, is to take us out beyond the realm

of “self image” and into the Image of

“The Divine,” the Image of Him whoCreated you.

Multiplication, produces many times the original

product of “The Plan.” The plan and thepurposes revolve around the fact that,

2 Peter 3 Verse 9“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as

some men count slackness; but islongsuffering to us-ward, not willingthat any should perish, but that allshould come to repentance.”

That is why, “the oath of growth,” is

sworn by God, because He couldswear by no one greater thanHimself!

Hebrews 6 Verse 13 “For when God madepromise to Abraham, because He couldswear by no greater, He sware byHimself,”

Hebrews 6 Verses 15-20 “And so, after he hadpatiently endured, he obtained the promise.”(16) “For men verily swear by the greater: and anoath for confirmation [is] to them an end of all strife.”(17) “Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shewunto the heirs of promise the immutability of hiscounsel, confirmed [it] by an oath:”(18) “That by two immutable things, in which [it was]impossible for God to lie, we might have a strongconsolation, who have fled for refuge to lay holdupon the hope set before us:” (19) “Which [hope]we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure andstedfast, and which entereth into that within theveil;” (20) “Whither the forerunner is for us entered,[even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever after theorder of Melchisedec.”

He is “The All sufficient One,El Shaddai!” All the promises in Him, are,

“Yes, and A-men!”

Psalm 32 Verses 7-9 “Thou [art] my hiding place;thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shaltcompass me about with songs of deliverance.”

(8) “I will instruct thee and teach theein the way which thou shalt go: I willguide thee with mine eye.”(9) “Be ye not as the horse, [or] as the mule,

[which] have no understanding:whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle,lest they come near unto thee.”

There are two things noted inthis life of ours, that The LordHimself will constantly dig His heelsin against,

The first one, is “the hard hearted,”and the second, is “the stiff-necked”(or arrogantly proud.)

Hebrews 4 Verses 1-3 “Let us therefore fear, lest, apromise being left [us] of entering into his rest, anyof you should seem to come short of it.”(2) “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well

as unto them: but the word preached didnot profit them, not being mixedwith Faith in them that heard [it].”(3) “For we which have believed do enter into rest,as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if theyshall enter into my rest: although the works werefinished from the foundation of the world.”

Our Faith, needs to be mixed withthe hearing of The Word in order for us

to be able to carry out its doing.

Colossians 3 Verses 12-17 “Put on therefore, as theelect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,longsuffering;” (13) “Forbearing one another, andforgiving one another, if any man have a quarrelagainst any: even as Christ forgave you, so also[do] ye.” (14) “And above all these things [put on]

charity,(Love, God’s Love) which is ...the bond of perfectness.” (15) “And letthe peace of God rule in your hearts, to the whichalso ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”

(16) “Let the word of Christ (theRhema, heard by the hearing of theheart of hearts) dwell in you richly in allwisdom; teaching and admonishing one another inpsalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing withgrace in your hearts to the Lord.”

(17) “And whatsoever ye do in word ordeed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus,giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

There lies a challenge, for each one of us the

Greek word for the word “Perfect,” is the word

Greek, “Telios,” which literally means,

“that one has just now begun theprocess of ... beginning to grow up.”

How many, “ ... babes in Christ”are there that you know of, that aretrying to teach others to grow,when they themselves havenot!!!

Or more to the point, WILL NOT!”

This word, was the same word that The Lordused when He spoke to father Abraham and said tohim to,

“walk before me, and be thouperfect.”

The word “THOU,” means “YOU,” just

as assuredly as it refers to “ME!”

The Lord God Almighty, found it fitting to wantto use this man Abram as an example of His own,

“Perfecting touch onhuman-kind,”

that is why The Lord said to him ...

“Walk before Me,and be thou perfect!”

“Perfect,” relates to the Hebrew,

“Tamiym” rendered as “a complete,mature, blameless and wholehearteddesire toward God, His Will, HisPurpose, and His Good Pleasure:”

God Himself directed the Covenant of

intimacy, friendship and relationshipthat He wants with ALL of us ...

“NOT JUST THESELECTIVE ELECTIVE!!!”

Philippians 3 Verses 12-18 “Not as though I hadalready attained, either were already perfect: but Ifollow after, if that I may apprehend that for whichalso I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”(13) “Brethren, I count not myself to haveapprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgettingthose things which are behind, and reaching forthunto those things which are before,”(14) “I press toward the mark for the prize of thehigh calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

(15) “Let us therefore, as many as beperfect, be thus minded: and if inany thing ye be otherwise minded,God shall reveal even this untoyou.” (16) “Nevertheless, whereto we havealready attained, let us walk by the same rule, let usmind the same thing.”

(17) “Brethren, be followers togetherof me, and mark them which walkso as ye have us for an ensample.”

(18) “(For many walk, of whom I havetold you often, and now tell youeven weeping, [that they are] theenemies of the cross of Christ:”

2 Thessalonians 3 Verses 1-5 “Finally, brethren,pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have[free] course, and be glorified, even as [it is] withyou:” (2) “And that we may be delivered fromunreasonable and wicked men: for all [men]have not Faith.”(3) “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you,and keep [you] from evil.” (4) “And we haveconfidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both doand will do the things which we command you.”(5) “And The Lord direct your hearts into TheLove of God, and into the patient waiting forChrist.”

Ezekiel 36 Verses 26-27

“A new heart (Gk, “kardia,” tendertoward God) also will I give you, and a newspirit (Gk, “pneuma,” the literalBreath of God, God Breathed; Heb,“ruach”) will I put within you: and I will takeaway the stony heart out of your flesh, and I willgive you an heart of flesh.”

(27) “And I will put my spirit withinyou, and cause you to (Gk,“dianoia,” a new will power, God’scan do ability in you) walk in mystatutes, and ye shall keep (refers toGk, “psyche,” or the response of arestored soul) my judgments, anddo (also in reference to “psyche,”meaning the God given desire too!)DO [them].” (additions by courtesy.1)

Transforming the old way of life,to that of the vibrancy of “The New,Christ’s Life in us, out-working andout-growing the old:”

But they are definitely there! What does it meanfor us when we hear the statement that we can,

“see with our minds eye!!!??”

Many people when confronted with this statethat they literally saw mental imagery, and that itwas perfectly distinct and full of color and clarity tothem.

Even to the point of being able to describewhat they see and what is occurring in minutedetail. Where then, are these facets of manlocated? The answer is in fact obvious … they are

stored within our “inner most being,” or

what we often refer to as “the heart ofhearts!”

The most amazing thing is thatthe very same thing can be said ofa blind man standing in broad daylight!

Proverbs 18 Verse 15 “The heart of the

prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear ofthe wise seeketh knowledge.”

Colossians 3 Verses 1-10 “If ye then be risen withChrist, seek those things which are above, whereChrist sitteth on The Right Hand of God.”

(2) “Set your affection on thingsabove, not on things on the earth.”

(3) “For ye are dead, and your life is hidwith Christ in God.” (4) “When Christ, whois our Life, shall appear, then shall ye also appearwith Him in Glory.” (5) “Mortify therefore yourmembers which are upon the earth; fornication,uncleanness, inordinate affection, evilconcupiscence (lower, or fleshly appetites) andcovetousness, which is idolatry:”(6) “For which things’ sake the wrath of God comethon the children of disobedience:”(7) “In the which ye also walked some time, whenye lived in them.” (8) “But now ye also put off allthese; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthycommunication out of your mouth.”

(9) “Lie not one to another, seeing that yehave put off the old man with hisdeeds;” (10) “And have put on thenew man, which is renewed inknowledge after The Image of Himthat created him:”

Else where it is stated,

1 Corinthians 2 Verses 9-11 “But as it is written,

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,neither have entered into the heartof man, the things which God hathprepared for them that Love Him.”(10) “But God hath revealed them unto us by HisSpirit: for The Spirit searcheth all things, yea, thedeep things of God.” (11) “For what man knoweththe things of a man, save the spirit of man which isin him? even so the things of God knoweth no man,but The Spirit of God.”

Just because a blind man cannot see with hisnatural eyes doesn’t mean that what he cannot seeis not there! Same for the deaf man that cannothear the sounds that are all around him!

Proverbs 16 Verses 21-23

“The wise in heart shall be calledprudent: and the sweetness of thelips increaseth learning.”(22) “Understanding [is] a wellspringof life unto him that hath it: but theinstruction of fools [is] folly.”

(23) “The heart of the wise teachethhis mouth, and addeth learning tohis lips.”

I have said it before and I’ll continue to say it tillit’s preached back to me!

“Who-ever or what-ever controlsyour heart, controls your mind.”

“Who-ever or what-ever controlsyour mind, controls you!!!??”

Romans 10 Verses 8-10

“But what saith it? The word is nighthee, [even] in thy mouth … and inthy heart: that is, The word of Faith,which we preach;”(9) “That if thou shalt confess withthy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shaltbelieve in thine heart that God hathraised him from the dead, thou shaltbe saved.”

(10) “For with the heart manbelieveth unto righteousness; andwith the mouth confession is madeunto salvation.”

If you are seated with Christ in Heavenly

places, then your mind and obviouslyyour heart will dwell constantly onHim:

Colossians 3 Verses 1-2 “If ye then be risen with

Christ, seek those things which areabove, where Christ sitteth on theright hand of God.”(2) “Set your affection on thingsabove, not on things on the earth.”

It stands to reason, that when you are “inLove,” your whole being constantly centres on

“the one you Love!”

The right to choose (and even change ourmind), the right of choice that we have in our

humanity, is called, “will.”

Far above all of God’s Created order, it hasonly been man that The Father has Blessed with

this “enabling toward choice andconscious decision called, will.”

Someone, has once rightly said, that “Love,is not a feeling, it’s an act of thewill!” Through “the will,” we can either chooseto walk with Jesus or deny Him. Either way, His ownpromise stands true.

Hebrews 13 Verses 5(b)-6

“ … He hath said, I will never leave thee,nor forsake thee.”(6) So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] myhelper, and I will not fear what man shall do untome.”

Our soul, has the capacity to choose to ascendinto both friendship and fellowship with its Creator.

Or it can descend into “self-indulgence,materialism, sin, death and hell.”

Have you ever really stopped to consider thewords,

Psalm 23 Verse 3

“He restoreth my soul: … Heleadeth me in the paths of righteousness …

for His name’s sake.”

Yes, it is a sovereign work of The Spirit of

Grace, God is a God of “Resurrection Life.”When He touches or begins the process of

“restoration of our soul” we know full well,that revival has hit.

There lies within your heart, a burning desire to

“want to do God’s Will, Purpose andGood Pleasure!” We ask for and are filled

with His Holy Spirit and we dwell as weshould have dwelt all along!

If we choose not to, then the alternative takesplace and we walk away. Often I think, that it’sbetter to let scripture speak for itself.

Take a good hard look at this passage fromThe Book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 14 Verses 6-14 “A scorner seekethwisdom, and [findeth it] not: but knowledge [is] easyunto him that understandeth.”(7) “Go from the presence of a foolish man, whenthou perceivest not [in him] the lips of knowledge.”(8) “The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understandhis way: but the folly of fools [is] deceit.”(9) “Fools make a mock at sin: but among therighteous [there is] favour.” (10) “The heart knowethhis own bitterness; and a stranger doth notintermeddle with his joy.”(11) “The house of the wicked shall be overthrown:but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.”s(12) “There is a way which seemeth right unto aman, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.”(13) “Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and theend of that mirth [is] heaviness.”(14) “The backslider in heart shall be filled with hisown ways: and a good man [shall be satisfied] fromhimself.”

There is a progression, but it’s further awayfrom The Lord and His Presence, we descend intounion with the earth through our fleshly man with itspotential for only dust and death away from thePresence of The Living God!

Why do you think that the body at death iscommended back to the ground?

“Earth to earth, ashes to ashesand dust to dust!”

Ezekiel 18 Verse 4

“Behold, all souls are mine; as thesoul of the father, so also the soulof the son is mine: the soul thatsinneth, it shall die.”

By “The Spirit of Grace,” we canreach out and partake of our birthright, the right of

being “Born again by The Spirit ofThe Living God, Life and it’sabundance NOW!

Amos 3 Verse 3

“Can two walk together,except they be agreed?”

At “New Birth,” personal revival takes

place as God’s Spirit again “in breaths”newness of Life to our soul: God’sKingdom “bursts to Life inside you!”

God has made a way for us tobe restored to Himself, He sentJesus to seek and to save thatwhich was lost.

By His substitutionary sacrificeon the cross, Jesus has paid theinfinite cost and made it possible foreach of us to be forgiven andcleansed from sin and to becomemembers of God’s own family.

Unlearning the dictates of theflesh and our carnality can onlycome via the instructions of TheWord of God! And that, and nothingelse is

“character building.”

2 Peter 1 Verses 2-4 “Grace and peace be

multiplied unto you through theknowledge of God, and of Jesusour Lord,”

(3) “According as His Divine Power hath given unto

us all things that [pertain] unto lifeand godliness, through theknowledge of him that hath calledus to glory and virtue:”(4) “Whereby are given unto usexceeding great and preciouspromises: that by these ye might bepartakers of The Divine Nature,having escaped the corruption that is in the worldthrough lust.”

The carnal Christian is a fleshly person, onethat is literally ruled by the dictates of the soul.

Those of … “I want!”“I think!”“I feel!”

All based on the dictates of … “Me”“MyselfAnd “I!”

If you want God’s Wisdom, His Will and HisWays are all contained within the pages of HisWord, they are there, for all to see.

Nothing is hidden it is there for the asking, so

ask, seek and knock the doors willopen to both you and me!

If you want God’s Wisdom, you will have to bewilling to abide by His boundaries: Step to the other

side, and you move into “disobedience.”


“My son, forget not my law; but letthine heart keep mycommandments:” (2) “For length of days,and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.”

(3) “Let not mercy and truth forsakethee: bind them about thy neck; write themupon the table of thine heart:”(4) “So shalt thou find favour andgood understanding in the sight ofGod and man.”(5) “Trust in The LORD with all thineheart; and lean not unto thine ownunderstanding.” (6) “In all thy waysacknowledge him, and he shalldirect thy paths.”

(7) “Be not wise in thine own eyes:fear the LORD, and depart fromevil.” (8) “It shall be health to thy navel, and

marrow to thy bones.”

Step into “disobedience,” and you are

set on the downward spiral of “sin,” like amoth flying close to the flame.Scorched, its wings can no longergive adequate control and the mothspirals down wounded to die on theearth!

The very moment that you don’t abide in God’sset boundaries, your wisdom becomes,

“ … earthly,”

the next stage is “ … sensual,”

And the final outcome is “ … devilish!”

James 3 Verse 15

“This wisdom descendeth not from above,but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.”

1) “ … earthly,” (of the dust nature)bodily cravings, desires, habits and lusts.

2) “ … sensual,” (of the sense realm or

“soulish.”) “If it feels good do it!”Readily casts off restraint:

3) “ … devilish!” (spiritually dead,demonically inspired thoughts and knowledgebased on three main areas,

i) “Separating sins,” thoughts,suggestions and actions of a nature thatrebels against Gods Divine order.

When God’s Word talks about sin and its toxiceffect, it likens sin to leaven or yeast which as youknow, causes flour to increase in its size andbecome bread.

It is a marvellous description as to the effectthat just a few grains of yeast can have on thewhole lump of flour dough.

The “Presence” of The Lord Jesus Christmade manifest in the life of the believer is indicated

by the presence of “the fruit of Christ’sNature and Character within the life... revealed for all to see!”

“The Anointing” comes through thePresence of Jesus Christ in the believer’s life ... youmust have Jesus in your heart, in order to have Him

in your life. If the “heart of hearts” lacks HisPresence, then there is noanointing to touch others for Him.

“You must have His Person,to have His Presence.”

Then and only then, will Heproduce in your life ... “The Fruit ofHis Nature,” The Nature and TheCharacter of Christ. People will bedrawn to the “indwell Saviour” maderesident in you!

His Presence changes you,whilst The Anointing is the vehiclewhich communicates His Presenceout of you to others.

We are living in an age wherewe tend to aspire to “the real thing,”correspondingly, we show by ouractions,

example of the Godhead at work in “TheAnointing.”

This is the corporate function of the Godhead,that of conveying to Jesus’ ministry, The Father’smanifest presence through the wonder workingpower of The Holy Ghost.

“ ... for God giveth not The Spiritby measure [unto Him].”

Himself, “Life to the Church.”

As promised by Jesus, The Holy Spirit waspoured out on the day of Pentecost ... launching

The Church, The Body of Christ into a

dynamic ministry, revealing Christ Jesus to theworld around us.

Today, The Holy Spirit is still the “activeagent” of The Godhead who indwells us,

filling and equipping us that together as a Body,“the Church” can be used as a vessel toexpress The Glory of God to a sinsick and dying world.

When man’s spirit, is rightlyrelated to The Spirit of God, hefulfils God’s Purpose for his being,and brings Glory to his Creator.

Job 33 Verse 4 “The Spirit of God hath

made me, and The Breath of TheAlmighty hath given me life.”

There have been literallymultitudes, that have tried to usethese passages of God’s Holy writas an excuse for no longerfellowshipping.

Just how many have you comeacross that have used thisparticular passage as an excuse for“doing their own rebelliousthing!!!??”

If these individuals were trulyfilled to overflowing with The HolySpirit, then they could not bestopped from going to Church andthe regular commitment that normalChristians so readily respond to!

Thus bringing them into that place ofresponse, in

“The Fear of The Lord!”

John 14 Verse 23 “Jesus answered and said untohim, If a man love Me, he will keep My Words: andMy Father will love him, and We will come unto him,and make Our abode with Him.”

Not just knowing about Him, butto “really know Him!”

The Lord Jesus Christ does this,by His Refining Presence.

Zephaniah 3 Verse 17(a)

“The Lord thy God in the midst ofthee is mighty ... !”

Our God and Father has madeprovision for us to enter in, enterinto The Holy of Holies where HisPresence is. Where God’sPresence is, the Power of The LordGod Almighty is in evidence.

Above all, we need to be “co-workerswith The Holy Spirit, to move in theflow of God’s quickening Presence.”

Called “The Anointing,” you can literallyfeel the oil running down your head! I personally

have felt the flow of rivers of “Living water,”run right through my being ... clean through mybody to wash over those around me. Who were alsolost in worship,

“such ecstatic joy, my heartcannot describe!!!??”

John 7 Verse 38 “He that believeth on Me, as the

scripture hath said, out of his belly shallflow rivers of living water.”

In Matthew 11 Verse 12, it says,

“And from the days of John the Baptist until nowThe Kingdom of Heaven sufferethviolence, and the violent take it byforce.”

“ ... The Kingdom of Heavensuffereth violence, and the violenttake it by force.”

Here it is talking about men andwomen who are determined topress in deeper into,

“The Presence of God.”

And who, in touching “ThePresence of God,” touch “ThePower of God” and in touching Godand touching His “Power,” release itinto the lives of others.

They determinedly lay hold ofthe relationship themselves, not inthe sense of trampling on others,but the determination of effort thatsays,

“... I will not take nofor an answer!”

Genesis 32 Verse 26 “And he said, Let me go, for

the day breaketh. And he said, I will not letthee go, except thou Bless me.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is never weary of hislabour of Love, and we should not be weary of well-doing, for

“ ... in due season we shallreap, if we faint not.”

Galatians 6 Verses 6-9 “Let him that istaught in the word communicateunto him that teacheth in all goodthings.” (7) “Be not deceived; God isnot mocked: for whatsoever a mansoweth, that shall he also reap.”(8) “For he that soweth to his fleshshall of the flesh reap corruption;but he that soweth to The Spiritshall of The Spirit reap LifeEverlasting.”

Those who attend to the study of

“The Word,” will be called to give an accountof their attentiveness of that Word.

Do we think that when thesermon is finished, that’s the end ofit? Do we file it for future referenceand then forget about it ... I thinknot! We are called to,

“ ... study to showourselves approved ... ”

Either we are who we say thatwe are, or we are in fact living out adelusion and living out a delusion,is living out a lie!!!

Luke 7 Verse 47

“Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, whichare many, are forgiven; for sheloved much: but to whom little isforgiven, [the same] loveth little.”

The least in Heaven knowsmore, Loves more, and does morein Praising God, and receives morefrom Him, than the greatest in thisworld.

Literally multitudes were ministered to by Johnthe Apostle, and became disciples. They strove for

a place in God’s Kingdom ... and nottheir own!

And those ... the religious leaders ofthe day still continued to think thatthese dear ones had no right, nortitle to enter in and so they like allreligious Pharisees, judged them tobe intruders.

They allowed the manipulations of “self,” toobstruct the flow of God’s Spirit.

Let it be remembered, that the “Dove ofGod’s Love,” will never stay whereHe is NOT wanted! This shows us that

fervency and zeal are required of all,but it’s right placed determinationand zeal!

And none other, it is that same heart motive

from which the word “commitment” is derived,

and not the striving of “sham” and “show”before men. That is exactly the problem with ...“Ego,” it must be satisfied, it is restless in its

pursuit of “SELF.” Wherever “I” goes, “E”goes!!!??

You see, you only have to add the letter “E” to

“SHAM” and it becomes the word for the end

result ... “SHAME.” “SELF,” must bedenied and the heart motive mustbe altered accordingly!

Those who will have an interest in the great

salvation, will have it upon anyterms, they neither look at theterms or the conditions, theironly heart motive is toward “TheGiver” ... NOT “THE GIFT!”

God requires no more from usthan the right use of the facultiesHe has given us. People are onlyignorant, because they will notlearn, “stubborn pride” producesonly one thing ... “it reduces thepotential that folk have, justwaiting to be released!”

“The stubbornness of “stiffnecked pride,” will even supress the

potential in others because of its “territorialnature.” It is infected with a “my patchmentality!”

I make no excuse for its description because it

is revealed in “Loves potential forrepentance, and this is give to allof us, because it is “The Giftcalled Grace!”

Grace does not insist on the mentality of

“my way or the highway!”

Even The Lord Himself rebuked the religiousleaders of the day because of this very thing.

Matthew 23 Verse 13 “But woe unto you, scribesand Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up TheKingdom of Heaven against men: for ye neither goin yourselves, neither suffer ye them that areentering to go in.”

So, we are always going to have those that are

too quick to “shoot the messenger, orcrucify them!!!”

The Anointing of God, comes with HisPresence ... just like when any other loved oneenters the room, we are quickened to them, we areaware of their presence. Any gift which comes from

God, always comes to us with HisPresence. Just like when we hand a gift or a

present to someone ... so too doesGod’s Presence go with “HisGiftings.”

Isaiah 10 Verse 27

“And it shall come to pass in thatday, [that] his burden shall be takenaway from off thy shoulder, and hisyoke from off thy neck, and theyoke shall be destroyed because ofThe Anointing.”

With God’s Presence, changealways takes place in reaction tothe one receiving and it is always achange for the better.

“a fossil, is something which cameup against change ... but refused tomove and got stuck there!”

So, in that sense we can see that

The Anointing does not comewithout cost.

The Anointing of God willalways bring about change inorder that the vessel is fit toreceive it ... though God can andwill at times use any vessel thatis at His disposal,

We carry with us in these “earthenvessels,” the power of attorneyof The Lord God Almighty!

Jesus’ physical ministry on earth was about toend. He breathed The Holy Spirit onto His disciples

and told them to continue theministry The Father had given Him.

The same Commission, thesame Anointing, were given to thedisciples. And this sameCommission, and same Anointingare ours today, as Disciples of TheLord Jesus Christ!

In the Greek language, the word

“upon,” is the word ... “epi,” which gives usthe clue as to its intensity.

The word carries with it thethought of a Holy unction, anAnointing for the work that liesbeyond this point in time.

“pressing down,” so that when Jesussaid,

“ ... The Spirit ofThe Lord is upon me ... ”

He knew full well the weight ofresponsibility for the task that laybefore Him!

He knew full well, what was said when He said,

Luke 10 Verse 3

“Go your ways: behold, I sendyou forth as lambs amongwolves.”

Our injunction, the “Divinecommand,” ... is to “Preach,”to “Reach,” and to “Teach.” We must

realise, that we are “Called,”“Appointed” and “Anointed” ... ofour God to do this task!

task, God always provides the(enablement or His) Anointing, tofulfil it!

Jesus quoted the above verses from the bookof the prophet Isaiah and of course, they applysupremely to Him and His ministry in function.

“His engrafted Word, from God’sLips to our hearts and from ourhearts, to the ears of others!”

It has often been stated, that ...“preachersare reachers,” touching the worldfor Christ. The true heart motive for preachingis the cry of David ...

Psalm 119 Verse 11 “Thy word have I hid in mineheart, that I might not sin against Thee.”

This is the active sharing and proclaiming our

word of testimony as to God’s “Goodnessand Mercy” functioning in our lives and thelives of those around us: This is the role of

“overcomers,” they have notrouble in sharing the word oftheir testimony.

iv) “ ... recovering of sightto the blind.”

This is the ongoing operation of “Grace”functioning in our lives to see the Hand, and the

wondrous works of The Lord ... I quite likethe phrase “Divine clarity,”because in this sense through Hisenablement we are able to both seeand focus on what He is saying tous ... “clearly:”

v) “ ... to set at liberty.”

Where the Spirit of The Lord is, there is

“Liberty,” not levity to do your own thing.Certainly not bondage, but release into truefreedom and the things of God that were previouslyout of reach:

vi) “ ... those who are oppressed!”

Release ... always brings with it

liberty, to those that were previously

“held in the grip of oppression!”

John 1 Verses 4-5

“In him was life; and the life wasthe light of men.”(5) “And the light shineth indarkness; and the darknesscomprehended it not.”

John 6 Verse 63 “It is the spirit thatquickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: thewords that I speak unto you, [they]are Spirit, and [they] are Life.”

Those that call upon the name of The Lord

shall be saved, call upon Him whilst Heis near!

The Book of Romans brings us further clarity

regarding the point of “proclaiming” that which

has been “inbreathed into our hearts.”

Romans 10 Verses 8(b)-11; 13

“ ... that is, The Word of Faith,which we preach;”(9) “That if thou shalt confess withthy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shaltbelieve in thine heart that God hathraised him from the dead, thou shaltbe saved.” (10) “For with the heartman believeth unto righteousness;and with the mouth confession ismade unto salvation.” (11) “For thescripture saith, whosoever believethon him shall not be ashamed.”

Verse (13) “For whosoever shall callupon the name of the Lord shall besaved.”

This, is further capped off by the following twoverses,

And finally, verse seventeen,

Romans 10 Verse 17 “So then Faith[cometh] by hearing, and hearing byThe Word of God.”

Literally translated the phrase, “by TheWord of God,” could be rendered moreaccurately as

“ ... by a (personal)Word from God.”

You see, it’s God Himself who supplies what

we call “Faith” and this enablement comes

through “the Anointing or enabling ofHis working” with us to confirm HisWord, by and through HisPresence!

God is not interested in our Faith ...because we in ourselves do notpossess it!

God is very interested in HisGifting of Faith to us, that is,coupled with its operation in ourlives.

This comes into active playwhen our stubborn “wills” respondto participate with His “Giftings”toward us and our heart responsebecomes ...

“My desire is to dothy will O’ God!”

Unless there is first “thedesire,” then there can be “NOwill!” I think that if I were to describe thisfunction in simple terms, I would have to say, that

each believer, is “called,”“appointed” and “anointed,” tofunction in the area or realm thatGod would have them to move in.

I am a husband and a father,because I am “called,”“appointed,” and “anointed,” ofGod to function in that area of mylife.

The potential is there, myrelease, my healing and therecovering of my sight to “see” theappropriate needs through the

“Eyes of the Great need meeter!”

But it all needs to beappropriated, by me ... I need toreceive what Jesus has done onmy behalf,

“I need to walk in THE WAY ...NOT GET IN THE WAY!!!”

Let us remember that it doesn’t just stopthere! As husband and father, my responsibilitybefore God our Father, is also as shepherd andpriest of the household.

With my wife standing alongside me wefunction in

“co-leadership responsibility.”

Operation in the ministry of the household inGod’s stead as a testimony to the community ofboth our neighbours and family. It is of primaryimportance for us, to bring our children up in the,

“growth, nurture andadmonition of The Lord!”

As the family, is the earthbound example as tothe way that we should prepare for our betrothed.It really shows the make-up of society today in itsrebellion against all things concerning Christ andThe Kingdom of God. God’s Word tells us that,

“the government shall be uponHis shoulders ... ”

That is The Lords shouldersand nobody else!

When the “Nature” and “TheCharacter” of The Lord JesusChrist permeates the home, then the home is

indeed what James Dobson states, “the veryfabric from which THE CHURCHis cut!”

The Word of God also tells us, that ...

Acts 7 Verse 49

“Heaven [is] My Throne, andearth [is] My footstool: whathouse will ye build Me? saith TheLord: or what [is] the place of MyRest?”

It is not the Lord’s fault, that the nature of manchooses the nature of rebellion but the fact remainsas the Psalm states,

Psalm 45 Verses 6-9 “Thy throne, O God, [is] forever and ever: The Sceptre of Thy Kingdom [is]a Right Sceptre.”(7) “Thou lovest Righteousness, and hatest

wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hathanointed thee with the oil of gladness above thyfellows.”

(8) “All Thy garments [smell] of myrrh, andaloes, [and] cassia, out of the ivory palaces,whereby they have made thee glad.”(9) “Kings’ daughters [were] among thyhonourable women: upon thy right hand didstand the queen in gold of Ophir.”(See also Hebrews 1 Verses 8-9)

Here in the Old Testament, God givesdescription of the components that are to be used inthe example of the fragrant ointment.

He does this to show us how He wants tominister in our lives and also the different areas ofattention in our individual lives to bring us into the

“corporate response” of drawingcloser and deeper into Him!

Psalm 45 Verse 8 beautifully describes the fragrantointment and its ingredients.

“All Thy garments [smell] ofmyrrh, and aloes, [and] cassia, …”

Every one of these different fragrances are

used to make The Anointing Oil and speak

to us of an aspect of what God wants todo in our lives.

Previously in the history of scripture, the onlyother person to be granted the view of the coming

“Messiah,” was Moses the Patriarch of Israel.

God did this in several ways,

a) By instruction for preparation of the “oil toanoint” both “the Tabernacle and thefurnishings”

(b) and secondly in the description of the actual

“oil and its components.” And howthey relate to both Christ and thebeliever, who has Him in his heartas both …

“Lord and Saviour.”

Hebrews 2 Verses 10-13

“For it became Him, for whom [are]all things, and by whom [are] allthings, in bringing many sons untoglory, to make the captain of theirsalvation perfect throughsufferings.”

(11) “For both He that sanctifieth andthey who are sanctified [are] all ofone: for which cause He is notashamed to call them brethren,”(12) “Saying, I will declare thy nameunto my brethren, in the midst ofthe church will I sing praise untoThee.” (13) “And again, I will put mytrust in Him. And again, Behold Iand the children which God hathgiven Me.”

The greater the Anointing, the greater thesensitivity is required to move under the direction ofThe Holy Spirit. Resistance in the flow, only causes

obvious hindrance to the “Dove of God’sLove.”

A dove can be extremelysensitive, it will not go where it’s notwanted! The Dove cannot beexpected to nest on barbed wireand bramble thorns.

Isaiah 11 Verses 2-3 “And The Spirit ofThe LORD shall rest upon Him, TheSpirit of Wisdom andUnderstanding, The Spirit ofCounsel and Might, The Spirit ofKnowledge and of The fear of TheLORD;” (3) “And shall make Him ofquick Understanding in The Fear ofThe LORD: and He shall not judgeafter the sight of His eyes, neitherreprove after the hearing of Hisears:”

2) “The Spirit of Wisdom”... guidance and direction, the fruits that are

produced by Godly wisdom as described in,

James 3 Verses 17-18

“But the wisdom that is from aboveis first pure, then peaceable, gentle,[and] easy to be intreated, full ofmercy and good fruits, withoutpartiality, and without hypocrisy.”(18) “And The Fruit of Righteousnessis sown in Peace of them that makePeace.”

“shipwreck and the rocks of errorand fanaticism.” The second part being theenabling or the ability to

The transfer of “God ordainedinstruction, and input to be shed abroad within

upon the Father in prayer for the Spirit of Might.

We fail in our own strength, we can only helpothers, when we are enabled by

“The Power of His Might!”

“ ... I am full of power by The Spiritof The LORD ... ”

Ephesians 6 Verse 10

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in TheLord, and in The Power of HisMight.”

6) “The Spirit of Knowledge”... Simply, to know from God as to,

“how to” go about the taskconcerned.”

Isaiah 28 Verse 26

“For his God doth instruct him todiscretion, [and] doth teach him.”

Two wonderful examples from scripture being,

(a) Jacob, was held in Laban’s captivity, and God

give to Jacob both “knowledge” and

“understanding” relating to the selection ofcattle.

God showed to Jacob to choose the rejectsand that he would prosper by it all in preparation forthe future. God often uses those that are thedespised and rejected of man.

How often do we not truly understand what’shappening, but we just know that our Lord is in itand directing our steps.

Genesis 30 Verse 40

“And Jacob did separate the lambs,and set the faces of the flockstoward the ringstraked, and all thebrown in the flock of Laban; and heput his own flocks by themselves,and put them not unto Laban’scattle.”

God, doing all, as unto The Lord ... “Faithfulpeople, not faithless!”

We, as ministers of The Lord, need to be totallyclean before our God ... so too, does thecongregation. Especially those with whom there is

that “heart yearning,” to enter in, to“minister unto the Lord.”

Colossians 3 Verse 23 “And whatsoever ye do, do itheartily, as to The Lord, and not unto men;”

As vessels, cleansed andtransparent before our God, we canbe likened to a drinking glass, filledwith the refreshment that only waterfrom a clear, natural mountainstream can bring.

“Is it our desire to be so usedof our Lord!!!??”

Our God and Father, The Lord God Almighty,has always desired communication with Hiscreated, man.

The Holiness of God demandedthat nothing that was impure,nothing that was unclean or profanecould meet with Him in the point ofcontact.

If they did in such a state, thepower surge of God’s refiningpresence, would like electricity ...eat the dust of impurity in the line.

Have you ever seen a bright electrical line thatis alive with the power within? A particle of dust

floats down to touch it and the “imposer”the impurity is instantlyvaporized, like a moth thattouches the pure flame of thecandle ... “woof, and it’s gone!”

Many have delved into the realm of deceptionto try to portray that they are something other thanthey really are. For a while, perhaps a long while, itmay seem that they have gotten away with theirdevious plots.

They continue to hide under the “cloak ofmaliciousness” and when in “Grace” areasked concerning their covering, react violently from

the “root and the gall of bitternesswithin, only to stand exposed by thepower of His touch!”

The Blood of The Lord JesusChrist, is the “Divine insulation,”and coupled with the giftings of “Wisdom” ...the high voltage of contact has been reduced by ourMighty Father’s forethought for His Creation,

to a level where contact can bemade by insulated “protectionand direction” for His Created,“Man.”

God our Father anointed even atree, to grow, to be felled, and inturn be carried on the shoulders ofHis beloved Son who was to lay Hislife down on those same ruggedbeams.

The same timber that todaycarries His Word to the nations, aspulp made into paper to carry this,His Anointed Word!

That tree therefore becomeseven a “vessel of honour, whatabout you, what treasure do youhold within your heart?”

The touch of God’s Hand, is a touch oftransforming power but it is a touch in thegentleness of His Love. It’s not harsh, it is a shockto the carnal man but its effects are not

“shocking.”

God preserved my life when I was a teenagerand received a jolt from electric power lines which Itouched with a piece of metal conduit pipe that Iwaved frantically to try to attract the attention of afriend.

That jolt, gave me a headache and I thought atthe moment that somebody had climbed up thetwelve foot high fence I was standing on and kickedme in the back.

It gave me quite a headache but The Anointingof the Holy Ghost never leaves you feeling ill.

The touch of His Anointingmakes you more desirous to presson even deeper into Him.

The more the Lord touches yourbeing, the more you want to betouched.

We are to become channels orconduits to aid in the transfer ofboth His Love, His Power and HisLife.

Water pipes coming out fromvessels fit to be filled to the brimcontinually with Him, our Jesus!

“God’s Own,God’s Anointed,God’s Christ-filledappointed.”

As The Anointing moves on folk,it can be at times, likened to theflow of electricity,

“You cannot control TheAnointing of God, His Presenceis overseen by The Spirit of HisHoliness!”

God uses the vehicle of HisAnointing to direct and controlyou!”

Right there, is the meaning of the word

“sanctification,” God uses “vessels,” setapart for His use, not ours.

We were purchased back toHim, we were redeemed with aprice, a price beyond price,“The Sinless Blood of His DearlyBeloved Son, King Jesus:”

Where there is resistance in theline, the flow is hindered, where theline is bright and clear ... the Powerof God’s Presence falls.

Ironically, the physics ofelectricity show that the greatestpotential for conduction lies in themetal ... “Gold.”

The purer the gold, the easierand more unobstructed the flow.In God’s Word, you will at timescome across references to

“ ... the gold of Ophir ... ”

because it was the purest goldon the face of the earth.

Pure in its God given natural form, the gold ofOphir was gathered from the district which wassettled by several of the sons of Joktan, a son ofShem, who was a son of Noah.

Ophir was noted for its characteristic red soil,close to the sea so that ships could moor right onshore.

It was the region from which Solomon obtainedhis gold in Tyrean ships, and geographically, it waslocated in Arabia on the shore of the Red Sea.

It is said, that there was a brook from which thegold of Ophaz (Ophir) was gathered. This speaks tous of alluvial gold, gold close to the surface, pure inits virgin state and easily gathered together forharvest and shipment.

It is gold that is constantly washed over ... like

“Gold Christians ... bathed in thewashings of the water by TheWord.”(Dalton)

Wisdom in choice, is the ability to accept orreject ... anything, which has been laid before it! It

involves decision “to do ... or not to do!”

We all are responsible in our lives for what only

can be called, “Unwise choices.”

“Wise decisions” have to be searchedfor, there are several things that we need to grouptogether to make a presentation readily available for

“choice relative to that decision.”

a) “Knowledge ...”

It stands to reason, that we must know what it

is we are to make a decision on, andalso the facts that surround ourobvious choices. Knowledge of the “facts”cannot harm or hurt you ... only the waythat you react toward those“presented facts,” can influenceyour outcome.

By God’s provision of examples, andacknowledging in our circumstance and situationthe difference between that which is

of God and that which is ... not of God,we can gain understanding to sharpen the God-given gift of discernment that has for too longremained stagnant.

It’s okay to know and function inthe Word of God, but it’s far “betterto know The God of The Word ...Jesus, It’s Author and Finisher!”

1 Corinthians 1 Verses 30-31 “But of him areye in Christ Jesus, who of God ismade unto us wisdom, andrighteousness, and sanctification,and redemption:”(31) “That, according as it is written,He that glorieth, let him glory in TheLord.”

Even in the world, folk have becomeincreasingly less able and less willing to establish

and maintain the boundaries between “right andwrong, good and evil.”

As very dear friend once commented “Whatthe parents allow in moderation, thechildren will always carry toexcess!”

One may have many years of experience, but

that does not mean that they have “Wisdom.”Many folk ascribe to the “Wisdom of years,”for some, this is very true but sadly for the majorityit is not. The same mistakes that were made inteenage years have been carried forward under the

banner of “grey power.”

Often the excuse you will observe is ...“you’ll be old too one day!” Theproblem being, is the problem isyou, if you do not stop to deal withthe mistakes of yesteryear, thechances are that they will just keepcropping up, the older you get.

History does have the habit ofrepeating itself!!! The problem beingthat the older you get, the moreexaggerated the problem will get,and the less able you will be tocope with it.

The soul of man cries for more ...

“The soul,” is the area deep inside ofman, which is stimulated by anything which caters

to the “mind,” “the memory,” “thewill,” “the emotions” and “theintellect.”

Not forgetting that the keys of access to the

soulish realm of man lie in those of “seeing,”“hearing,” “tasting,” “smelling”and “touching!”

All are “acknowledged” and

“recorded” by our “soulish man!”

The question needs to be asked, is ...“what happens once this soulishlife has ended?”

“What happens to theseexperiences of taste, smell, sight,touch and sound?”

The soul, does not die at death, but by ChristJesus, it can be converted and receive

“Life Everlasting ... NOW!”

John 5 Verse 24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hethat heareth My Word, and believeth on Him thatsent Me, hath Everlasting Life, and shall not comeinto condemnation; but is passed from death untoLife.”

Life in Christ has no end, its beginning is ourconversion. Once our name is written in

“The Book of Life,” we are accepted in

both “the Beloved” and in “Heaven.”

Only those that come to TheFather through Jesus are Justifiedbefore Him. That is why we lovethat phrase ...

“Just as if I’d never sinned!”

His Everlasting Lifeguarantees for ever and ever ...A - men! “For ever and ever”means “perpetual,” that is, neverending.

Everlasting Life, which The Son of manshall give unto you: for Him hathGod The Father sealed.”

Whether it is Life in Him for believers, or hell forunbelievers who do not except Him, it is still a neverending existence (that is, until “The Lake of Fire!”)

Therefore by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ

as our Lord and Saviour, God writes in “TheLamb’s Book of Life,” ourguarantee of “Everlasting Life.”

Jesus said for us to “learn of Him forHe is meek and lowly of heart.”He also said, “the meek, He will guide inHis way” and this is the key.

“Meekness, is not weakness ...weakness is the counterfeit

of a humble soul.”

Yes, the religious are good at “falsehumility” disguised as meekness, thePharisee has had many good yearsto practice in sheep’s clothing!

There is only one True Wisdom, it

proceeds from Him who is both “gentle, meekand lowly at heart” ... it is displayedby His Nature carried by the vesselwith a true spirit of meekness andtemper which is balanced in itsdisplay.

The true gold-bearing relationship, bears calmreason and is best suited to speak it also to others.

It clambers not for acclaimneither drops names to impress andknows full well that “Wisdomproduces the Meekness” ... it knows

meekness, is strength because Wisdom doesincrease and it lays no trust in the“fool’s gold of experience!”

Proverbs 27 Verse 2

“Let another man praise thee, andnot thine own mouth; a stranger,and not thine own lips.”

Many want to flaunt their “years ofexperience” like some sort of banner

but unless experience is acted upon... it becomes nothing more than theaccumulation of “knowledge!”


“For I bear them record that theyhave a zeal of God, but notaccording to knowledge.”(3) “For they being ignorant of God’sRighteousness, and going about toestablish their own righteousness,have not submitted themselvesunto The Righteousness of God.”(4) “For Christ [is] the end of the lawfor righteousness to every one thatbelieveth.”

“Experience, is an old man,hung up on the chronicles ofhindsight.” A dead, dusty librarywhich continues to only relate to theevents of “yester-year.”

There is really only one thing that we can gainfrom an experience as such, and that is, whetherwe succeed in the experience, or fail. Becauseanything more becomes a point on which to bragand boast. That my friend, is nothing more than the

arrogance of “Pride!”

But it must be remembered, that if younever recognize a failing, you willnever recognize the ability forchange. Success in succeedingknows the difference between thetwo and has the fortitude to actupon it!!!

In relying on experience, we risk bringing intobeing our own fleshly efforts and are in danger of

bringing forth an “Ishmael,” a son ofthe flesh.

If Jesus took the twelve and turned theworld on its ear, what gives us the right to

... “despise the day of smallthings,” most little seeds tend togrow into blossoming trees.

Our injunction is to “think on God,train in God, and get to the footof the mountain but it’s onlyFaith that will get you to the top.”“We have been given theprivilege, in this very hour, totrain the few, who will go out andtrain the many!”

No other weapon in the Christian’s Armour, is

of greater importance than the “Sword ofThe Word.” No other piece of “Divinearmour” nor human experience can supersede

the thorough honing of “The Sword ofThe Lord!”

Our early Christian forefathers, though often

simplistic and termed “ordinary orunlearned men” followed one example andone example only and that certainly was not theDegrees of academic attainment.

Instead, it was “depth” of relationship with

Him who is “The Word made flesh”yet the disciples all continued to do this one thing ...

“Study to show themselvesapproved unto God …”

The wanted all that was seen, heard andwritten of Jesus, so that they in turn could take onmore of His Nature and Character from that which

was planted within … “incorruptible seed!”

2 Timothy 2 Verses 15-16“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, aworkman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly

dividing The Word of Truth.”(16) “But shun profane and vain babblings: for theywill increase unto more ungodliness.”

Hebrews 4 Verse 12

“For The Word of God is quick, and

twoedged sword, piercing even tothe dividing asunder of soul andspirit, and of the joints and marrow,and is a discerner of the thoughtsand intents of the heart.”

In other words, a sword is not asword by merely experiencing it, themetal has first honed an edgewhich is to be then wielded withboth “skilful” and “trained hands.”

Not the hack and slash of abloodstained novice bolstering hisown ego by the experience of littlebut a blunted edge and living in thedreams of yesterday ...

“Today, if you will hear His voice!”

The world today has screamed and demandedthat children have their rights. Actually, theirdemand is for rights without the responsibility thatgoes with the establishment of those rights.

Just how irresponsible do youhave to be!

You would never send anuntrained soldier into the battlefield.

That is, not without at leastgiving him the chance of survival byhoning individual skills required tosurvive the onslaught of his enemy.

Conversely, without training, youcan only run on emotions.

Without adequate tuition andintroduction to basic trainingskills, you contradict your aimsand aspirations before God.

Psalm 40 Verse 8 “I delight to do Thy Will, O myGod: yea, Thy law is within my heart.”

Hebrews 10 Verse 7 “Then said I, Lo, I come (in thevolume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will,O God.”

The outcome of which is nothingless than a whole bunch of peopleall whipped up and nowhere to go!

When Jesus returned in the Power of TheSpirit, the declaration of Luke’s Gospel declares ...

Luke 4 Verse 15

“And He taught in their synagogues,being glorified of all.”

The Glory was not in Himself but in theFather’s Word of instruction in preparation to battlethe wiles of the evil one.

In this day, the Church also is screaming forher rights without honing the responsibility to seeyoung men and women, the foundation blocks oftomorrow’s Church, schooled and skilled in thebasics of foundational doctrine.

The Apostle John wrote,

1 John 2 Verses 14(b)-17

“... I have written unto you, youngmen, because ye are strong, andthe word of God abideth in you, andye have overcome the wicked one.”(15) “Love not the world, neither thethings [that are] in the world. If anyman love the world, the love of theFather is not in him.” (16) “For all that[is] in the world, the lust of the flesh,and the lust of the eyes, and thepride of life, is not of the Father, butis of the world.”

(17) “And the world passeth away,and the lust thereof: but he thatdoeth the will of God abideth forever.” (distinctions mine)

John makes three specific statementsconcerning his charges:

1) “... because ye are strong ...”

2) “... and The Word of Godabideth in you ...”

3) “... and ye have overcomethe wicked one.”

How many young people in our churches todaycan stand in solemn declaration and say that theyare strong, they are steadfast and that they haveovercome the wicked one.

Where there is no victory, there is no doubt areason. Young men and women who are notthoroughly instructed in God’s Word are in gravedanger and we under rate the power of potentialcarried in the vessels of tomorrow’s Church.

As ministers of the Gospel of our Lord JesusChrist, we have a solemn charge from Paul and hisletter to the Church at Colossae,

Colossians 2 Verse 8(a) “Beware lest anyman spoil you through philosophyand vain deceit, ...”

We have a duty to insure that the people theLord has blessed us with the stewardship of, are

both “trained and understand” thepractical application of instruction in

God’s Word as “line upon line,precept upon precept.”

Support of the total Body comes only as each

muscle and sinew is both “supported andsupporting ... blind guides,” can be theonly outcome of those who are not trained to beschooled and skilled by communion in awaiting theMaster’s touch. Screaming about your

“experience” is only a cop out for those who

are dominating “soul murderers” who aretoo proud to take time out to “studyto show themselves approved!”

“Without Jesus, we do not havea prayer!” We can have all the principles and

formulas that we want but unless there isthat moment-to-momentmaintenance of “communion,fellowship, worship and prayer” wewill be separated from the Wisdom in whom we areto make those decisions for choice.

Prayer is indispensable to the listening ear ...the associated areas which cover the maintenanceof Godly wisdom are applied as,

1) “Balance and order,”2) “Understanding and perception,”3) “The motive of the heart,”4) “Wisdom in counsel,”5) “A teachable spirit.”

“Wisdom Needs To Be Maintained.”

1) “Balance and order.”

God has Blessed man with a capacity to both

“think and reason.” He has also given usHis Word and the Holy Spirit. His admonition to us,

is to do “all things decently and inorder.”


“Let all things be donedecently and in order.”

God can supernaturally engraft His Word intoour hearts but it requires us to keep theincorruptible seed from the taint of deception inprivate interpretation.

2 Peter 1 Verse 20

“Knowing this first, that no prophecyof the scripture is of any privateinterpretation.”

That is why we have structure within theChurch, and employ the God ordained checks andbalances of oversight who take up the

“watch-care of the Holy Ghost!”

2) “Understanding and perception.”

Psalm 90 Verse 12

“So teach [us] to number our days,that we may apply [our] hearts untowisdom.”

If we are blessed with a specific word fromGod. Our Lord requires that we perceive Hisinstruction to line up with that of the written Word.

Rather than that of “spiritualassumption based on fancifulideals.” ... “Check it out!”

We are to live above our circumstances, notunder them! As Christians, we can takecomfort in knowing that God often works

“through” circumstances and in themidst of them, He faithfully revealsHis Will to us in His Purpose.

Romans 8 Verse 28 “And we know that allthings work together for good tothem that love God, to them whoare the called according to [His]purpose.”

3) “The motive of the heart.”

Proverbs 21 Verse 2

“Every way of a man [is] right in hisown eyes: but The LORDpondereth the hearts.”

God knows full well, that the heart is

“deceitfully wicked above all else ...”He knows that without His Control within our hearts,

we tend towards the “Self-destructbutton.”

Proverbs 4 Verses 23-27 “Keep thy heartwith all diligence; for out of it [are]the issues of life.” (24) “Put awayfrom thee a froward mouth, andperverse lips put far from thee.”

(25) “Let thine eyes look right on, andlet thine eyelids look straight beforethee.” (26) “Ponder the path of thyfeet, and let all thy ways beestablished.” (27) “Turn not to theright hand nor to the left: removethy foot from evil.”

The word “diligence,” is the key word inrelation to the heart motive. In Hebrew, the word is,

“mishmar” which is pronounced as

“mish - mawr” and literally means “aguard or sentry on guard at thegate.”

To the observant, this is the same action as

carried out by the “watch-caring role” of TheHoly Spirit within our lives. Any wonder, that Godsays in,

Hebrews Chapter 11 Verse 6(b)

“... that He is a rewarder of thosethat diligently seek Him!”

“Search me, O God, and know myheart: try me, and know mythoughts:” (24) “And see if [there beany] wicked way in me, and leadme in the way everlasting.”

4) “Wisdom in counsel.”

Proverbs 24 Verse 6(b) “... in multitude ofcounsellors [there is] safety.”

Let us look diligently to our ways in that ...

a) Counsel and dialogue of advice MUST come

from a Christ-centred perspective, it MUST comefrom a Godly source.

Proverbs 25 Verse 19

“Confidence in an unfaithful man intime of trouble [is like] a brokentooth, and a foot out of joint.”

In other words, a constant source of irritationand misguided advice which does not achieve thedesired end and only continues to make folk slipand fall further away from the Lord if listened too.

b) Sometimes there are those brethren which seemto have all the right answers and advice ... they are

a constant reserve of “favoured Christianclique and parable.”

Problem being, that often they do not

“practice what they preach.” GODCALLS SUCH AS HYPOCRITES!

Proverbs 12 Verse 15

“The way of a fool [is] right in hisown eyes: but he that hearkenethunto counsel [is] wise.”

In the final analysis, each person is responsible

for knowing “God’s revealed purposefor his/her own life!”

5) “A teachable spirit.”

A teachable spirit, is a “reachablespirit,” it is not “caught” and trapped in thevanity of its own mind.

Like a small child, it readilyreceives instruction and is humbleenough to both “listen and apply”the word received.

Proverbs 4 Verses 1-19 “Hear, ye children, theinstruction of a father, and attend to knowunderstanding.” (2) “For I give you good doctrine,forsake ye not my law.” (3) “For I was my father’sson, tender and only [beloved] in the sight of mymother.” (4) “He taught me also, and said unto me,Let thine heart retain my words: keep mycommandments, and live.”

(5) “Get wisdom, get understanding:forget [it] not; neither decline fromthe words of my mouth.”(6) “Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee:love her, and she shall keep thee.”

(7) “Wisdom [is] the principal thing;[therefore] get wisdom: and with all thygetting get understanding.”

(8) “Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shallbring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.”

(19) “The way of the wicked [is] as darkness: theyknow not at what they stumble.”

Wisdom in sensitivity, can belikened to insulation, to both screen,protect and direct. Thereby we canbe co-workers with The Holy Ghostin His ministry.

From this, we also see the readiness withwhich The Lord responded to the request of King

Solomon for “The Gift of Wisdom.”

(12) “Wisdom and knowledge [is]granted unto thee; and I will give theeriches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of thekings have had that [have been] before thee,

neither shall there any after theehave the like.”

There is much wisdom in thediligence of seeking first theKingdom of our God and His

“Right/Wiseness.”

I am quite sure, that I personally, do not want todo anything out of my lack of understanding tohinder the Lord’s Presence.

But, that just goes to prove, of how much agentleman that The Holy Spirit really is in the waythat quite often He can and does compensate forour own short-comings.

Let us never be in a place ofletting “our short-comingsbecome short circuits.”

Daniel 10 Verses 5-10 “Then I lifted upmine eyes, and looked, and beholda certain man clothed in linen,whose loins [were] girded with finegold of Uphaz:” (6) “His body also[was] like the beryl, and his face asthe appearance of lightning, and hiseyes as lamps of fire, and his armsand his feet like in colour topolished brass, and the voice of hiswords like the voice of a multitude.”(7) “And I Daniel alone saw thevision: for the men that were withme saw not the vision; but a greatquaking fell upon them, so that theyfled to hide themselves.”(8) Therefore I was left alone, andsaw this great vision, and thereremained no strength in me: for mycomeliness was turned in me intocorruption, and I retained nostrength.”

(9) “Yet heard I the voice of hiswords: and when I heard the voiceof his words, then was I in a deepsleep on my face, and my facetoward the ground.” (10) “And,behold, an hand touched me, whichset me upon my knees and [upon]the palms of my hands.”

Loins girded in the fine gold of Ophaz (Ophir),

girded about with “Truth” and the purity ofstanding in it! What a wonderfully fearsomesight it was that beheld Daniel!

“ ... feet like in colour topolished brass.”

Feet shod with “The Gospel ...The Gospel of Truth,” The Truth ofGod’s pure Word, undefiled, andincorruptible, The Word by whichwe are judged.

Surely this sets in place theawesome standard with which weshould desire ... “The Lord’sAnointing.”

No danger can befall us when we meditate onthe power of Jesus Christ and the wonderful Lovewith which he gives that power to us.

The man Christ Jesus, has alreadyaccomplished for us that most mysterious of

miracles, the stepping down of “the highvoltage of God’s creativity,” to awave length which our little beingscan endure.

We receive a touch, a voltage of something

that in human terms can only be likenedto that of electricity, in that it enriches our humanpersonalities and deepens our human love.

We find that as we learn to seeHim in all men, we Love all peoplemore and more.

1 John 4 Verse 20 “If a man say, I love God, and

hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he thatloveth not his brother whom he hathseen, how can he love God whomhe hath not seen?

As we abide in Him, we do not deny but fulfilevery possibility of our humanity. We rise to touchthe Glory of God and we can in that sense gaze

upon “Divinity veiled in the humanityof The Lord Jesus Christ”

“ ... in Him dwells all the fullnessof The Godhead bodily.”

And the things of the earth do grow strangely

dim in the light of “His Glory and Grace.”

Job 28 Verses 12-28

“But where shall wisdom be found?and where [is] the place ofunderstanding?”(13) “Man knoweth not the pricethereof; neither is it found in theland of the living.”

Job had that depth of “Right/wise”relationship, so too did Moses. Moreover, God gaveMoses instruction for participation in the work of

“Reconcile,” to help bring man back to that

place of relationship with “Almighty God.”

Psalm 103 Verse 7

“He made known His ways untoMoses, His acts unto the childrenof Israel.”

Now that, is intimacy of relationship, can youimagine the intensity of one on one dialogue with

“Almighty God!” Just imagine theresponsibility that rested with dear Moses.

One might well ask the question,“Who chose Moses to be in thatplace of encounter and intimacy ofcommunion with God?”

The answer is, He who judgesnot after the sight of His eyes ...God always looks at men’s heartsbecause His desire is to havehearts that are after His Own!

A people, who love The LordGod Almighty for Who He is, God!!!

“Men and women whose heart, isa heart after God’s own heart!”Our Father, Creator of Heaven andearth and all that is seen, andunseen.

Let’s look now at what God has to say to usfrom the book of Exodus concerning His instruction

to Moses for the production of “The Anointingoil” and “The Incense.”

Exodus 30 Verses 22-38

“Moreover the LORD spake untoMoses, saying,” (23) “Take thou alsounto thee ... principal spices, ofpure myrrh ... five hundred[shekels](approx. 20 kgs), and ... ofsweet cinnamon ... half so much(around 10 kgs), [even] twohundred and fifty [shekels], and ...of sweet calamus ... two hundredand fifty [shekels] (10 kgs),”(24) “And ... of cassia ... five hundred[shekels] (20 kgs), after the shekelof the sanctuary, and ... of oil olive... an hin (approx. 1.1/4 gal):”

(25) “And thou shalt make it an oil ofHoly Ointment, an ointmentcompound after the art of theapothecary: ... it shall be ... an ...Holy ... Anointing Oil.”(26) “And thou shalt anoint thetabernacle of the congregationtherewith, and The Ark of TheTestimony,”(27) “And the table and all hisvessels, and the candlestick and hisvessels, and the altar of incense,”(28) “And the altar of burnt offeringwith all his vessels, and the laverand his foot.” (29) “And ... thou shaltsanctify them, ... that they may bemost Holy: ... whatsoever toucheththem shall be Holy.” (30) “And thoushalt anoint Aaron and his sons,and consecrate them, that [they]may minister unto me in the priest’soffice.”

(31) “And thou shalt speak unto thechildren of Israel, saying, This shallbe an Holy Anointing oil unto methroughout your generations.”(32) “Upon man’s flesh shall it not bepoured, neither shall ye make [anyother] like it, after the compositionof it: it [is] Holy, [and] it shall beHoly unto you.”(33) “Whosoever compoundeth [any]like it, or whosoever putteth [any] ofit upon a stranger, shall even be cutoff from his people.”

Please take very careful note here, Moses isbeing offered one set of instructions, concerningtwo distinct articles of consecration.

(1) A Holy “Anointing Oil” and ...

(2) “Incense,” a perfume,“pure and Holy.”

First indication in scripture, is toward that

of “sanctification,” that is, the settingapart for God!

Second indication, is that

The Anointing Oil, is Holy and thereforeused to indicate the sanctification or setting apartfor The Lord’s service, both the articles of thefurniture and the priests ... to whom it in its

“Most Holy” application is applied!

The third indication, is that as the

incense and its ingredients are “temperedtogether,” they are in fact fused in both

“Purity and Holiness” in the serviceof Almighty God:

Fourth indication, is that their testimony

becomes “Most Holy,” before even that of theentire congregation!

And finally, that all withoutexception are now “Holy, for TheLord!”

d) “... where I will meet with thee ...”God meets with us in the midst ofHis Anointed Presence.

“In His Presence is fulness of joy.”

Aaron and his sons were to be anointed, inother words, the high-priest and those in the line ofsuccession. Under the Old Covenant, these wereonly those of the Levitical order.

But now under the rule and reignof Christ Jesus God’s Worddeclares,

1 Peter 2 Verse 9

“But ye [are] a chosen generation,a Royal Priesthood, an Holy nation,a peculiar people; that ye shouldshew forth the praises of Him whohath called you out of darkness intoHis marvellous light:”

In Old Covenant times there was certainly a

separation, but today we are all underThe New Covenant and as such, allbelievers belong to the RoyalPriesthood.

The Anointing of The Holy Spirit,is not for the selective elective, it’s for

“ALL THE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD.”

We all make up “The Church,The Body of Christ,” we are underHis Headship, Christ is The Head ofThe Church.

Each individual person is a partof Christ’s Corporate Church, eachperson, when they are Baptised inThe Holy Ghost carries within ThePresence of Him Who indwells ourhearts by Faith. The Very Presenceif The indwelling Christ, The LordJesus Christ Himself!

Therefore, each person carrieswith them an individual Anointing tofunction in the role that Christ Jesushas ordained that they function in!

But a body is incomplete,without all it’s members. We eachcarry an individual Anointing, butthere is none more powerful, thatthe Corporate Anointing.

There is none more powerfulthat Corporate unity and wholebodily function. There is none morepowerful than a situation of,

“We and The Holy Spirit agree!!!”

2) Verse 32

“Upon man’s fleshshall it not be poured, ... ”

No flesh shall glory in HisPresence ... the anointing, is notgiven in order to make man lookgood.

God is not interested inshowmanship or one-man bands!

Big bubbles of “Ego,” are thereonly to be burst!!! God is wantingthat you glorify Him through theacts that He does in your life.

Anything else, and you have missed it. Godwants to Anoint you, to enable you to do things forHim through your life and in doing for God, it would

glorify His Son, and not you!

When “The Anointing of God” trulytouches the life of an individual, it brings them totheir knees ... it does not enlarge their hat size!

3) Verse 32(b) “ ... neither shall ye make[any other] like it, after thecomposition of it: ... ”

Make no counterfeit of it, you cannot fabricatethe work of God. Either you have the real thing, orit’s all just sham and show, counterfeit! The real is

lasting, it endures. It abides, and it is notthreatened by counterfeit show.

4) Verse 32(c) “ ... it [is] Holy, [and] itshall be Holy unto you.”

When something is Holy, it is to be totally setapart for the Kingdom of God and for His exclusiveuse. It is therefore consecrated or conscripted intoHis service.

When the thing concerned isthen used for some other purpose,the act is called desecration and thething then becomes profane, unableto be used again for Holy purposes.

Profanity in God’s sight is anything which deals

lightly with what He calls “HOLY.”

The Anointing, cannot reside inan “UNCLEAN VESSEL.”

The Anointing of God, is“HOLY” and needs to be treated assuch.

IF YOU WANT GOD’SANOINTING, THEN KNOW THISTHAT GOD HIMSELF WILL SETYOU APART TO BE BOTHFITTED AND THEN USED OFHIM!

And The Lord will begin to bringabout change within your life,change for the better.

He will begin to turn your life“upside down” and “inside out,”

to the “RIGHT SIDE UP!”

Ezekiel 16 Verse 9 “Then washed I theewith water; yea, I thoroughlywashed away thy blood from thee,and I anointed thee with oil.”

He will change your life to thebetter, an important point to beremembered at this point, is that aFOSSIL is something that came upagainst “change” and refused tomove:

Our lives are often robbed ofThe Presence of God by thesmothering effect of things whichmake us unclean in His sight. Godwants to anoint us in order for us tobe able to function in Him.

Jeremiah 29 Verses 11-13 “For I know the thoughtsthat I think toward you, saith The LORD, thoughts ofpeace, and not of evil, to give you an expectedend.” (12) “Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shallgo and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you.”(13) “And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when yeshall search for Me with all your heart.”

“The power of change ...” isshown through the ingredients ofthe anointing oil.”

1) “Pure Myrrh,” the sap of a Myrrh tree,

“Balsamodendron myrrha,” has a hardwood and bark, with a strong odour. The gum is atfirst soft, like thick turpentine, hardening onexposure to the air, it is used as a perfume once it iscollected. The gathering of myrrh occurred in one ofeither two ways.

a) Either a slit was sliced with a sharp knife into thebark and then it bled into a container.

b) Or secondly, the collector of Myrrh searched outfor mature trees.

“The power of change ...”

They were trees that were bursting with theirown natural out-flowing, so full of sap that it literallyoozed out of the bark pores and it was then that theresidue was gathered from off the trunk of the tree.

Proverbs 7 Verse 17 “I have perfumed mybed with myrrh, aloes, andcinnamon.”

From this, it became quite evident that

God would have it that there be that “natural”out-flowing of The Holy Ghostwithin our lives. From this we see, that in OldTestament times the priority, was the gathering by

“God ordained means, the mostnatural ... no cuts or incisionsnecessary!”

There was to be no hack or slash but preciseand accurate ministry ... there was no useless effortsuch as beating at the air as a shadow boxer.

Myrrh is very importantsymbolically in that it was also oneof the gifts brought to the infantJesus.

Matthew 2 Verse 11 “And when they werecome into the house, they saw theyoung child with Mary his mother,and fell down, and worshipped him:and when they had opened theirtreasures, they presented unto himgifts; gold, and frankincense, andmyrrh.”

Myrrh was also used in theprocess of embalming.

John 19 Verse 39 “And there came alsoNicodemus, which at the first cameto Jesus by night, and brought amixture of myrrh and aloes, aboutan hundred pound [weight].”

Myrrh was also mentioned in the book ofEsther chapter 2 Verse 12, used for the

purification of women before these maidens

were presented to the King.

Esther 2 Verse 12 “Now when everymaid's turn was come to go in toking Ahasuerus, after that she hadbeen twelve months, according tothe manner of the women, (for sowere the days of their purificationsaccomplished, [to wit], … sixmonths with oil of myrrh, … and sixmonths with sweet odours, and with[other] things for the purifying of thewomen;)”

Also in Old Testament times a woman could

not re-enter the courts of the temple unlessshe was duly purified afterchildbirth. And as “The Body” ofChrist, The Church is synonymouswith a “Bride” in preparation.

We can now therefore readily understand the

application of “Myrrh,” to the life of eachindividual that makes up the corporate Church,

“The Bride, The Body of Christ”

As the “Precious Blood of Christ”removed the taint of sin, then so todoes the “Myrrh” in preparation asit brings with it both cleansing andrefreshing.

The name for the city of Smyrnaas mentioned in the book of Revelation, comes from

the Greek word “Smurna,” which isthe same word for Myrrh: (The Cityof Myrrh.)

Revelation 2 Verses 8-11 “And unto theangel of the church in Smyrna write;These things saith the first and thelast, which was dead, and is alive;”(9) “I know thy works, and tribulation,and poverty, (but thou art rich) and[I know] the blasphemy of themwhich say they are Jews, and arenot, but [are] the synagogue ofsatan.”

(10) “Fear none of those things whichthou shalt suffer: behold, the devilshall cast [some] of you into prison,that ye may be tried; and ye shallhave tribulation ten days: be thoufaithful unto death, and I will givethee a crown of life.” (11) “He thathath an ear, let him hear what theSpirit saith unto the churches; Hethat overcometh shall not be hurt ofthe second death.”

Myrrh, has within it ananaesthetic effect, it producesnumbness toward the hurts, thefailures and the pain of bruising inour lives. Suffering, pain, rejection and hurt, arenot just peculiar to those involved in ministry

function. The anointing oil deadens theeffect, but it’s only the resurrectionpower ... the unction that allows usto be able to stand up!

Mark 15 Verse 23 “And they gave Him todrink wine mingled with myrrh: butHe received [it] not.”

2) “Sweet Cinnamon,” a native tree of the

east, “Cinnamon verum,” thought to comefrom the islands of Ceylon.

A sweet spice extracted from the inner bark ofthe Cinnamon tree highly valued for its aroma.Usually supplied in dried bark tubes or rolls, an

extremely strong, but sweet aroma... that literally destroys the smellof all flesh. We are meant to sweeten not onlyour own lives, but also the lives of others.

“Brashness changes to sweetness,the sweetness of GRACE.”

As salt is used to stem the flowof corruption ... “to stop the rot” ...and preserve, the fragrance ofcinnamon removes the smell ofevery trace of “rotting flesh that ispassing away!”

3) “Sweet Calamus,” the sweet juice of acane like sugar-cane similar in the fact that the juiceis obtained by bruising the cane and then bending itunder pressure to extract the juice within.

The word for Calamus is the Hebrew word,

“Qaneh” which is pronounced “kaw - neh.”Cane that produced much juice,required less bending, less bruisingand less pressure to extract thetreasure within.

Which goes to say that this isthe way in which we are suppose toreact when we in turn, are filled withThe Anointing of God. When we aresqueezed under pressure instead ofbruising to the bitter reaction ofbeing bent, sweetness instead ofharshness surfaces from our deepwithin our midst.

You can readily tell the contentof a person filled with “bitter juice”... their outward appearance, theircountenance is one of a“wretchedness.”

They readily show on theoutside, the wretched bittercontents of the juices within whichare, “bitterness,” “hatred,”“resentment and unforgiveness!”

Acts 2 Verse 28

“Thou hast made known to me theways of life; thou shalt make me fullof joy with thy countenance.”

In the book of Esther chapter 2 Verses 11-13

we can catch again somewhat of a glimpse as towhat should be our place ofpreparation in order that we beready to be received by The KingOf all Kings.

Esther bathed in the herbs and spices and they

in turn literally penetrated her wholebeing. This shows us that thefragrance of God is to go downdeep in our being, and there bemingled with “His sweetness.”

Esther 2 Verses 11-13 “And Mordecaiwalked every day before the courtof the women’s house, to know howEsther did, and what shouldbecome of her.” (12) “Now whenevery maid’s turn was come to go into king Ahasuerus, after that shehad been twelve months, accordingto the manner of the women, (for sowere the days of their purificationsaccomplished, [to wit], six monthswith oil of myrrh, and six monthswith sweet odours, and with [other]things for the purifying of thewomen;)”

(13) “Then thus came [every] maidenunto the king; whatsoever shedesired was given her to go withher out of the house of the womenunto the king’s house.”

The purpose of The Anointing, isto change us ... step by step, line byline, precept by precept ... to bemore like Christ Jesus.

No humanistic motive for “payback”under the hand of the bruising, buttotal forgiveness. Jesus asked ofThe Father’s forgiveness for a

“sin-sick and dying world!”

“ ... Father forgive them, for theyknow not what they do ... ”

Total forgiveness for those thatso despitefully used Him!

“Cleansed,” “washed” and

“bathed,” so that the inward Nature, TheNature and The Character of TheMan Christ Jesus can be mademore evident in us. Who no longerlive their lives according to thedictates of either “The world,” “theflesh” or the manipulations of thedevil!”

As Esther set toward preparationfor the purpose of being received bythe King she spent twelve monthsin so doing.

Six months with “oil of Myrrh”... which speaks of “Meekness”and six months with sweet odourswhich speak of “Humility, theCassia,” “Gentleness theCalamus,” “Goodness theCinnamon.”

Myrrh, was always double thequantity of the other spices, which

speaks to us of “Meekness” above allelse ... “Meekness, is notweakness.” “Blessed are themeek ... above all else!”

The sweet odours arecharacteristic of the fragrance thatflows out of us, but it comesthrough breaking, times of adversityand crushings.

Job 41 Verse 25

“When he raiseth up himself, themighty are afraid: by reason ofbreakings they purify themselves.”

But characteristically, without theinfusion of the Myrrh, without the“meekness” ... there will be nosweet odours!

You know, when you sit down to have a relaxand a cup of tea, tea is made by an infusion. Thebroken and prepared leaves are soaked in boiledwater to extract the benefits that are locked within.

That is why a good old fashioned “cuppa,” isreferred to as “a pick me up!” The goodness thatis released from within, both refreshes and revives.

“ ... Surely He was bruised forour iniquities!!!”

Isaiah 53 Verse 5 “But He [was]wounded for our transgressions,[He was] bruised for our iniquities:the chastisement of our peace[was] upon him; and with hisstripes we are healed.”

4) “Cassia,” a fragrant shrub of the laurel family

“Cinnamomum aromaticum” ... thevalue, is found in the roots, which is indicative of

the very heart of man.The fragrance of The Anointing,penetrates to the very fibre of ourbeing ... our, “heart of hearts.”

Interestingly, the spice is found in the roots oftrees younger than 10 years but after that age it canbe gathered from the bark and the young growthshoots of the older maturing shrubs.

Notice, that in scripture, these ingredients are

referred to as “Principal spices” ... of“pure myrrh,” and of “sweetcinnamon” and of “sweetcalamus,” and of “cassia” ... andof “olive oil,” the final ingredient tohold it all in place.

5) “Olive Oil,” Without the oil, there is no flow,

you can only touch people for God,to the degree that you yourselvesare touching God!

You cannot give, what you havenot received ... either we areimpacting people for “ETERNITY,or we are not!”

The oil, is also symbolic of TheHoly Spirit and without Him, all ofour efforts are nothing, they are nulland void ... they are vanity!

Oil always sinks to its lowestlevel, it is outpoured and if this, isnot an indication of “Grace andMercy,” then I don’t know what is!

As water, is meant to washclean, oil will always float on top ofwater.

What the washings by “thewater of the Word,” are meant toclean must not be covered over,you cannot add oil to try to coverimpurity,

“dirty water will always taint!”

Exodus 30 Verse 20

“When they go into the tabernacleof the congregation, they shall washwith water, ... that they die not ... ;or when they come near to the altarto minister, to burn offering made byfire unto the LORD:” (distinctions mine.)

Ironically, the oil of the olive, is also extractedby being beaten and then crushed. The principlespices were to be infused with the oil and then

strained out leaving no impediment butonly a sweet smelling oil to,

“ ... make it an oilof holy ointment ... ”

When we try to cover up, we in fact hinder theflow, the secret things, are not hidden from our Godas some would suppose!

Jesus hung naked on the cross,exposed for all to see. There’s gotto be that level of intimacy, there’sgot to be that level of exposure.

Which leads us to a further note of pointedinterest, in that it takes a full five kilograms of olives

to make one pure litre of “virgin olive oil.”

Surely we can learn from this, that there isquite an amount of “EXCESSbaggage” that we tend to carry inthis life. I’m sure that The Holy Spirit is saying inthis that we often times even carry it with us into theChurch.

Matthew 11 Verses 27-30

Only olive oil seems to have been used amongthe Hebrews, it was used for many purposes. Foranointing the body or the hair (Ref. Exodus 29Verse 7; 2 Samuel 14 Verse 2; Psalm 23 Verse 5;Psalm 92 Verse 10; Psalm 104 Verse 15; Luke 7Verse 46.)

It was used in regard to some of the offerings(Ref. Exodus 29 Verse 40; Leviticus 7 Verse 12;Numbers 6 Verse 15; Numbers 15 Verse 4).

But was excluded from the sin-offering(Leviticus 5 Verse 11) and the jealousy-offering(Numbers 5 Verse 15.)

The oil of the olive, was one of the mostvaluable products of the country and formed anarticle of extensive commerce.

Used for burning in lamps (Ref. Exodus 25Verse 6; Exodus 27 Verse 20; Matthew 25 Verse 3)for medicinal purposes (Ref. Isaiah 1 Verse 6; Luke10 Verse 34; James 5 Verse 14) and for anointingthe dead (Matthew 26 Verse 12; Luke 23 Verse 56.)

The use of it was a sign of gladness (Ref.Psalm 92 Verse 10; Isaiah 61 Verse 3) and itsomission a token of sorrow (2 Samuel 14 Verse 2;Matthew 6 Verse 17.) Olive oil, was very abundantboth in and around Galilee.

Highly valued, the best oil was from olives thatwere plucked before being fully ripe, interestingly,olives could endure a second pressing (or crushing)... the second press, was not as pure as the

“virgin press.”

This second press, produced oil that wassufficient to be used for the production of soapproducts and cosmetics. And ironically, it took threetimes the weight of the cast-offs from the firstpressing to make the same (or equivalent) amountof liquid oil by the second pressing.

There is therefore a point whereno further progress can be madeuntil there is in that sense acommitment to drop the excessbaggage!

Which, is no less than asurrender of the will.

Maturity in God therefore doesnot depend upon time elapsed, butupon individual progress.

It was not to be used for common purposes,all that was related to the worship in the Tabernaclewas consecrated by it and as such if properly used

would be a means of both “Grace andBlessing” ... to the worshippers.

“Because of the savour of thy goodointments thy name [is as] ointmentpoured forth, therefore do thevirgins love thee.”

Right along with the impartation,comes the responsibility for boththe maintenance and the upkeep ofthe giftings that we have received.

The gifts and the callings of God, are withoutrepentance.

Romans 11 Verse 29

“For the gifts and calling of God arewithout repentance.”

A gift that is pure and can only becomecorrupted by our own feeble misgivings? The

responsibility rests with us for both theuse and the upkeep.

This was the basis behind Paul’s dialogueconcerning the type of vessel that we had thepotential to become.

As Christians we profess Christ,honour Him, and also wait for Hiscoming.

If we are sincere, we are “the wisevirgins,” and if not, we are “hypocritesand foolish ones.”

The choice is ours, the truly wise have

“a lamp of profession” in their hands, and

have in their hearts, the soundknowledge and settled resolutions,which are needed to carry them.

Psalm 45 Verses 7-8 “Thou lovest Righteousness,and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God,hath Anointed thee with The oil of Gladness abovethy fellows.” (8) “All thy garments smell of myrrh,and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces,whereby they have made thee glad.”

The Anointing flows from The Person and theVery Garments of our King Jesus.

As oil flows, so too does The Anointingof God ... and when oil as a fluid moves from

“A” to “B” within a vessel, it creates “measurein movement” which is called “pressure.”The study of hydraulics, is the study of fluid inmovement under pressure and this is referred to as

“hydrostatics.”

Now I’ve said that just to say this, that as

“olive oil” is extracted under pressure, the flowof oil occurs only after pressure is applied.

Likewise in the life of an individual, when the

pressure of “God’s Anointing” touch occurs,there is only one of two things that can happen.

Either he or she will be “revived” andrespond in a favourable fashion to the moving of

The Holy Spirit or they will in fact, “revolt” at thechange which is taking place within their very ownlives by the touch of God’s Hand on theirs.

Either there will be “revolt” or there will be

“revival.” Revival, like “Faith,” “Hope”and “Love,” begin with the individualand then flow outward to influencethe lives of those around them.

Let it be understood that it is“change” for the better because it’schange that has been wrought inthe “crucible of Love” in the“Refiners Fire.”

Change, birthed out of a heart ofLove, to bring “... times ofrefreshing in The Presence ofGod” and refreshing always bringswith it, “change” and not“stagnation!”

As vessels used of God, we canbecome channels or conduits, ableto impart and partake in that flow of

“The Anointing of God.”

Just like the flow of a river, wecan choose to stand on the bank orwade in and get wet.

Let’s just look for a moment at the vision ofEzekiel and the river that flows out from under TheThrone of God.

Ezekiel 47 Verses 3-5 “And when the man that hadthe line in his hand went forth eastward, hemeasured a thousand cubits, and he brought me

through the waters; the waters were tothe ankles.” (4) “Again he measured a

thousand, and brought me through the waters; thewaters were to the knees. Again hemeasured a thousand, and brought me through;

the waters were to the loins.”(5) “Afterward he measured a thousand; and it wasa river that I could not pass over: for the waters

were risen, waters to swim in, a river thatcould not be passed over.”

We have the choice to wade inor stay at ankle deep, but “deepcalls to deep!” And it’s all about the“depth” of our relationship, that’swhat choice, is all about, and that’swhat Adam missed!

Psalm 42 Verse 7 “Deep calleth unto deep at thenoise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thybillows are gone over me.”

“All thy waves andbillows are gone over me …”

That is, I am drenched as the waters totally

saturate me. I am “in over my head!”

David is broken hearted to the point of grief, histears well up from within like great sobs that takethe breath away.

This was no light thing, it was a powerful overwhelming event! The waters do not lightly sprinkleme, but almost overwhelm me. By the surge of theflow, I am almost knocked off of my feet!

The heart wrenching, hasbought me to my knees!

Somewhat like what happenedto Jesus in the garden ofGethsemane when His heartheaved within Him and he cried andsweated Great drops of Blood overthe sins of God’s Created … man!

This is The Spirit of God reaching deep into the

spirit of His children, bypassing all thatwhich would attempt to impede thatsweet communion and fellowshipGod so passionately desires tohave with us.

The word rendered deep is theHebrew word, “Tehôm,” and meansa wave, billow, surge, and then, amass of waters; a flood, the deepsurge of the sea.

We are to become channels orconduits, like water pipes comingout from vessels fit in the transfer ofboth His Love, His Power and HisLife.

We are to become vessels fit tobe filled to the brim continually withHim, our Jesus!

“God’s Own,God’s Anointed,God’s Christ-filledappointed.”

God wants to flow through you,an Anointed vessel, and a vesselthat is as a channel of HisAwesome Love flowing through youwho are set apart for His use.

What He is whispering to you,comes from His Lips, to your heartand from your heart to your lips.And from your lips, to the ears ofthose that would receive that“Word” into their own hearts, yes,

“deep calls to deep!”

As conduits of His Love, if the walls used toimpart that flow are smooth, then we have what the

study of hydraulics calls “laminar flow” or flowwhich is smooth and unrestricted, like blood flowingthrough unobstructed arteries.

We are all parts of Christs corporate Body, TheChurch, and the only conceivable place that Bloodcan flow, is within The Body!

Surely then, this is why we were instructed byPaul, not to quench The Holy Spirit as

“The Rivers of Living Water” pulsethrough the very veins of His Bodyrepresented here on earth, “TheChurch!”

This is very much “food for thought,”because if the flow is obstructed in any way by thebuild-up of deposits on the walls of the vessel orchannel.

Then the flow is referred to as “turbulent”and we know that when onebehaves in a turbulent manner, hisor her walk in Jesus is all over theplace, being up one moment andthen down the next.

There can only come “stability” from those

times of “refreshing in the Master’sPresence.” Refreshed andreplenished oil in both the vesseland the reserve!

Acts 3 Verse 19 “Repent ye therefore, and beconverted, that your sins may be blotted out, when

the times of refreshing shall comefrom The Presence of The Lord;”

Isaiah 28 Verse 12 “To whom he said, This is therest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; andthis is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.”

Our light must shine beforemen, this is a fixed, active principle.Faith in Christ, and Love to Godand our Brethren ... with handsreaching out to those who do not.

Isaiah 9 Verse 2

“The people that walked indarkness have seen a great light;they that dwelt in the land of theshadow of death, upon them lighthath shone.”

As we have said before, so say we again,

“We take the Light, in the power ofHis might!” (Dalton.)

They took their lamps and went forth to meetthe Bridegroom they were ready, their intentions

were good but some went lackingpreparation. As someone has said,“It is better to be prepared and notcalled than called and unprepared!”

The small size of the lamp made it necessaryto carry a little jug or flask of oil for,

“the reserve.”

Or alternatively they made certain that the lampwas totally full if they were to venture some distancefrom their homes or stayed out for an entireevening.

Ironically, the lamp and its light provided a formof protection against the wild dogs that roamed thestreets at night and were sure to attack anyonewandering around in the dark. Such was and is thenature of the scavenger

... the nature of “Dogs!”

Apart from its normal use in the home, the lampwas also used to light the way in marriageprocessions.

Simplistic in design the lamp was nothing morethan a container filled with oil that soaked into awick of flax. But in order for the light to be sufficient,the wick needed to be trimmed and the oil level

adequate. “The wise” took both the oil and thereserve, they knew that the journey could havebeen longer than expected.

They were prepared for the“unexpected hour,” are you??!!!

Matthew 25 Verses 5-10“While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumberedand slept.” (6) “And at midnight there was a crymade, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out tomeet him.” (7) “Then all those virgins arose, andtrimmed their lamps.”(8) “And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us ofyour oil; for our lamps are gone out.”(9) “But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lestthere be not enough for us and you: but go yerather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.”(10) “And while they went to buy, the bridegroomcame; and they that were ready went in with him tothe marriage: and the door was shut.”

Everyone had a lamp and took it everywherethey went, it didn’t take much to turn the light up ordown ... it didn’t have to shine brightly all the time,though it should at least do its job. The five foolishvirgins wanted help from the wise ... but they didn’tget it, maybe you think you’ll catch up in the lastday. But let us say this then, that,

“If you are foolish now, you will befoolish then!”

“Behold the Bridegroom cometh ... ”

Isn’t that the way that quite a lot of folk in

Christendom see their walk today. “Oh, itdoesn’t much matter how we areduring the week, it’ll all be alrightcome Sunday.” “Besides, Godknows my heart anyway!”

Well, you see Brother that’s justthe problem ... He does! And Hesent me to remind you!!! “

Get the oil in the lamp, buildup the reserves and keep thewick trimmed ... you are a ROYALPRIEST, and it’s your vocation,your job to so shine before menthat they may see!”

Matthew 25 Verses 11-13 “Afterward camealso the other virgins, saying, Lord,Lord, open to us.” (12) “But heanswered and said, Verily I sayunto you, I know you not.”

(13) “Watch therefore, for ye knowneither the day nor the hourwherein the Son of man cometh.”

They all slumbered and slept ... the wise virginskept their lamps burning, but they did not keepthemselves awake.

Too many real Christians growcareless, and it must beremembered that one act ofcarelessness makes way foranother.

Those that allow themselves toslumber, will scarcely keep fromsleeping.

Isaiah 5 Verse 27 None shall be weary nor stumbleamong them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neithershall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor thelatchet of their shoes be broken:”

There is a place for being “Attentive” in theSpirit, it’s a place of taking up the watch care of TheHoly Spirit, a good shepherd watches over

“The Flock.”

Compromise is always startled by thesummons,

“ ... Go ye forth to meet Him!”

This is a call to those prepared, how then shallwe be found? The suddenness of death, or ofChrist’s coming to us then, will not hinder ourhappiness, if we have been prepared. Becausewhat is revealed is the balance of our walk in Him

by having both,

“The Oil and The reserve!”

The door was shut, many will seek admissionwhen it is too late.

To quote the commentator Matthew Henry,

“The vain confidence of hypocriteswill carry them far in expectations ofhappiness.

The unexpected summons ofdeath may alarm the Christian; but,proceeding without delay to trim hislamp, his graces often shine morebright; while the mere professor’sconduct shows that his lamp isgoing out.

Watch therefore, attend to thebusiness of your souls. Be in thefear of the Lord all the day long.”

In relation to the scripture, why do you think it

was that the word “virgins” was used why, not

“maidens” or perhaps a phrase such as

“young women?” When we are in Christ, we

are in that sense a “new creature,” the old isgone. God does His clean-up job so thoroughly, so

in that manner, we are “pure” which ironically is

the Greek word for “virgin or pure.”

The Greek word for this is “Parthenos,”referring to a maiden and theinnocence of her youth. Which compares

readily with the Hebrew word, “Bethuwlah,”meaning to keep separate the youngwoman or maid and theirinnocence.

What The Lord is saying in this is that the onlyway we can be amongst the wise, is to be ready.We in fact make that decision to set our house in

order to receive, “The Bridegroom” andmaintain the stance of our innocence.

“ ... therefore dothe virgins love Thee.”

“Strength” and “support,” comesby and through “commitment” in thecompany of the virgins ...”

“ ... do not forsake the assembly ofthe brethren as some are doing.”

Hebrews 10 Verses 22-25 “Let us draw near with atrue heart in full assurance of Faith, having ourhearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and ourbodies washed with pure water.”(23) “Let us hold fast the profession of our Faithwithout wavering; (for He is Faithful that promised;)”(24) “And let us consider one another to provokeunto love and to good works:”

(25) “Not forsaking the assembling ofourselves together, as the mannerof some is; but exhorting oneanother: and so much the more, asye see the day approaching.”

Those with pure desires andmotives for God, will respond to thefragrance of His outpouredointments and will Love Him.

They are broken like the alabaster box, theyare drawn to Jesus because of who He is and theirhearts cry is ...

Matthew 16 Verses 16(b)-17

“ ... Thou art The Christ, The Son ofThe Living God.”

To which He adds ...

(17) “And Jesus answered and saidunto him, Blessed art thou, SimonBarjona: for flesh and blood hathnot revealed [it] unto thee, but MyFather which is in Heaven.”

Jesus Christ, is the Head upon which the oil isfirst poured, but the same oil runs over the very skirt

of the garments, so that the least of HisBrethren has an unction of thatsame costly moisture as that whichoverflowed from the Head.

This is true communion, when the sap of Graceflows from the stem to the branch ... when it isperceived that the stem itself is sustained by theselfsame nourishment which feeds the branch.

Day by day, we receive of Him ... of HisFulness and Grace personified ...Christ Jesus.

The more constantly we recognise it as comingfrom Him, we shall more constantly be holden toHim in Love’s sweet communion.

God never takes away, withoutpouring in and as “self” decreases,we are able to enter into the fulnessof what He has in store for us.

“ ... I must decrease,whilst He increases ... ”

Then we are in a position of being able to passthe blessing on to others. Our function within theflow of God’s Anointing is quite simple when we

understand that all is based on the “plumb-lineof commitment.”

If we build in a literal sense, an altar of devotionwith The Lord foremost in our priorities, God canand does use our commitment as a platform forservice.

We look after the depth of ourservice, God looks after the breadthof our ministry function in Him.

2 Corinthians 2 Verses 14-17 “Now thanks be untoGod, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ,

and maketh manifest the savour ofHis Knowledge by us in everyplace.” (15) “For we are unto God asweet savour of Christ, in them thatare saved, and in them that perish:”(16) “To the one we are the savour of death unto

death; and to the other the savour ofLife unto Life. And who is sufficient for thesethings?” (17) “For we are not as many, whichcorrupt The Word of God: but as of sincerity, but asof God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

To celebrate in times of special occasions, it isquite natural for both men and women to add eitheraftershave or deodorants and perfume.

Scripture tells us,

Song of Solomon 1 Verse 3(a) “Because of thesavour of thy good ointments Thy Name is asointment poured forth, …”

“The fragrance of The Anointing,sweet incense, a sweet smellingsavour.”

So, both The Name and Salvation that comesin Jesus Christ, is referred to as ointment pouredout, a sweet savour of aroma.

Remembering the fragrances of the spices thatwere applied to His Feet by Mary Magdalene aftershe wept over them in the upper room then applied

the ointment from “The Alabaster Jar.”

And then as The women in the tomb, as theydressed His Body for burial!

To some, The Gospel is as thesmell of death, but to those who arebeing touched by The Hand of His“Grace,” it is the smell of “Heaven’sPurity!”

They reject it to their ruin, but toothers, The Gospel is a sweetsmelling aroma of Life:

As at first when we all were dead in sin to the

things of God. We were either drawn toHis Presence, or we rejected it!

Either “Life Eternal” became areality, or we remained in rebellionagainst God and dead in our sinthat continued to separate us fromHim!

Ephesians 5 Verses 1-2 “Be ye therefore followers

of God, as dear children;” (2) “And walk inLove, as Christ also hath Loved us,and hath given Himself for us anoffering and a sacrifice to God for asweetsmelling savour.”

Remember the fragrance of the spices that

perfumed “The Anointing Oil!!!??”

Exodus 30 Verses 34-38 “And the LORD said unto

Moses, ... Take unto thee sweetspices,... stacte, ... and onycha, ... and

galbanum; ... [these] sweet spiceswith pure frankincense: ... of each shallthere be a like [weight]:”

after the art of the apothecary, ... temperedtogether, ... Pure [and] Holy ... ”(36) “And thou shalt beat [some] of it very small,and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacleof the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it

shall be unto you ... Most Holy ...”(37) “And [as for] the perfume which thou shaltmake, ye shall not make to yourselves according to

The sweet spices mentioned here are to bemade into a perfumed incense. As we understandfrom scripture, incense speaks to us of both

prayer, worship and the ministry ofintercession of Christ on the onehand. And as our Great High Priest and

the prayers of the saints on theother. The ingredients composing the sweet

incense point to the various aspects ofthis ministry unto God.

The compound of the incense was made up offive ingredients; three specific sweet spices which

are “stacte,” “onycha” and “galbanum.”To these were added “frankincense” and

finally “salt.”

The thought of tempering refers “to salting”the incense. All of these five ingredients were to beof equal weight and carefully blended together.

From this introduction we learn two specific things.

1) God is interested in balance.

God is a God of order and of balance, eachingredient is important and in God’s mind, eachingredient is absolutely necessary for the other.

2) Harmony is therefore necessary to

produce this order of preparation forworship which will be pleasing toGod.

It is important for us to now examine thesignificance of each of these individual ingredients.

a) “Stacte,” a fragrant sap of gum from a shrub

which grew in the mountains of Gilead, “stacte”means “to drop or distil.” This gum flowedwithout piercing the bark.

Deuteronomy 32 Verses 1-2

“Give ear, O ye Heavens, and I willspeak; and hear, O earth, the wordsof my mouth.”(2) “My doctrine shall drop as therain, my speech shall distil as thedew, as the small rain upon thetender herb, and as the showersupon the grass:”

This speaks of the spontaneousattitude necessary to produce real worship.

“Prayer” and “song” can beorganized but “worship” is to beabsolutely free. As the sap flowed free likedistilled dew, it was as pure as our worship should

be like showers of refreshing toThe Lord our God.

b) “Onycha,” this was a shellfish found in theRed Sea which feed on the stems of fragrant plantsat the water’s edge and this shellfish becamesaturated with the perfume from the fragrant plant

on which it fed. The fragrance becomelogged even in its shell!

Ephesians 5 Verse 2

“And walk in Love, as Christ alsohath Loved us, and hath givenhimself for us an offering and asacrifice to God for a sweetsmellingsavour.”

A life which feeds on Jesus willhave the necessary fragrance toadequately worship the Lord.

This shell had to be finelyground to make this fragrant spice,the crushing work of humility is afurther requirement for the ministryof worship.

When the children of Israel walked through thedried bed of the parted waters of the Dead Sea,don’t you think that somehow they would be just likeus when we go to the seashore, and do that whichcomes naturally and that is pick up sea shells:

Even though they were fleeing from the army ofPharaoh, it can be supposed that some of thechildren of Israel picked up the seashells, thesesacred mementos, as they rushed from one side ofthe Red Sea to the other.

Gathered and used in the preparation of thesweet spices, it can only be stated that today’sgatherers know full well that ...

a) There are only several places of geographical

origin where “onycha” can be gathered.

b) When fires are lit on the shoreline from gathereddriftwood and coals happen to burn the shells, it is a

known fact that the aroma given offcauses every snake and scorpion inthe district to flee its sanctifiedaroma!

You want to smell the fragrance of The Lord?You want to smell the sweet smell of Jesus? Youhave to be with Jesus so that what’s on Him, TheHoliness of our Heavenly Father will rub off on you!

The question needs to be asked,how does the aroma of ourindividual prayers affect the tauntsof nit-picking demonic snakes andscorpions.

After all God’s Word says that both ourprayer and praise to Him is likeincense.

2 Corinthians 2 Verses 14-16

“Now thanks [be] unto God, whichalways causeth us to triumph inChrist, and maketh manifest thesavour of his knowledge by us inevery place.” (15) “For we are untoGod a sweet savour of Christ, inthem that are saved, and in themthat perish:” (16) “To the one [we are]the savour of death unto death; andto the other the savour of life untolife. And who [is] sufficient for thesethings?”

Psalm 141 Verse 2 “Let my prayer be setforth before thee [as] incense; [and]the lifting up of my hands [as] theevening sacrifice.”

c) “Galbanum,” derived also from a sap orgum, it comes from a large shrub which grows inthe mountains of Syria. It is a bitter gum used to

drive away insects. This gum flowedwherever part of the plant wasbroken.

This in fact speaks to us of thenecessity to have a broken andcontrite attitude in maintaining trueworship. This in itself will keep at bay spiritual

insects of “pride,” “self-sufficiency” and

bugs of “complacency.”

As with all the other ingredients,it had to lose its identity by beingfinely crushed and evenly weighedto blend into the total compound forthe complete incense.

“Who in the days of his flesh, whenhe had offered up prayers andsupplications with strong crying andtears unto him that was able tosave him from death, and washeard in that he feared;” (8) “Though Hewere a Son, yet learned He obedience by the thingswhich He suffered;”(9) “And being made perfect, He became TheAuthor of Eternal Salvation unto all them that obeyHim;”

d) “Frankincense,”(Gen.) “Boswellia sacra.”

During the process of harvesting, the greypapery outer bark of the frankincense tree ischipped away by a spatula-like chisel.

This rare Arabian tree waswounded during the evening andovernight the precious gum hadoozed out. In the morning, the hardwhite substance was collected andbeaten into a useable form.

Scrapping the bark produced gum resindroplets but the first scrapping is discarded asuseless.

The second cutting, weeks later, gives a lowerquality resin but some weeks later following thethird cutting, the tree gives up the pure translucent,

gold coloured resin called, “Frankincense.”

Growing together in spasmodic clumps of thicktrees that look from a distance like large bushes,the harvesting of the gum in fact becomes a yearround chore.

The spice speaks to us of “Purity andRighteousness” and was a fittinggift to lay before The Son ofRighteousness.

Matthew 2 Verse 11 “And when they were comeinto the house, they saw the young child with Mary

his mother, and fell down, andworshipped him: and when theyhad opened their treasures, theypresented unto him gifts; gold, andfrankincense, and myrrh.”

There is a tempering that comesin the preparation of Frankincensethat prepares the way for the futureinclusion of the other ingredients.

7A point of noted interest is the fact that Jethro,the father-in-law of Moses, was a Midianite and theMidianites were a wandering desert tribe, verysimilar in fact to our present-day Bedouin tribe.

Those that reside in the desert regions ofArabia and to this day maintain the stance of beingmiddle men in merchandising both

Gold and Frankincense.

e) “Salt,” While the other four spices were usedin equal measure, the one to pull the lot together intempering was that of salt.

Remembering of course that salt bothpreserves and flavours. Only that which has beentempered is acceptable to God in that it also refersto both speech and actions that are pure, tasty andfull of grace.

The temperance of salt provides an enduringquality by the avoidance of all that is obnoxious.

Matthew 5 Verse 13 “Ye are the salt of the earth:but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall itbe salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but tobe cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

To finalise this section, we see the value ofthese spices to God is seen in the names that theLord Himself has given to the incense.

i) “SWEET.” Christ’s ministry was filled withsweetness, every drop of bitterness refused to passthose sacred lips.

Matthew 27 Verse 34 “They gave Him vinegar todrink mingled with gall: and when He had tasted

[thereof], He would not drink.”

Hebrews 12 Verse 15 “Looking diligently lest any

man fail of The Grace of God; lest any root ofbitterness springing up trouble[you], and thereby many be defiled;”

ii) “PURE.” Christ was absolutely pure.

Hebrews 7 Verse 26 “For such an high priest

became us, [Who is] Holy, harmless,undefiled, separate from sinners,and made higher than the Heavens;”

iii) “HOLY.”

Hebrews 4 Verse 15 “For we have not an highpriest which cannot be touched with the feeling of

our infirmities; but was in all pointstempted like as [we are, yet] withoutsin.”

Christ Jesus ministered in absolute

“Holiness and sinlessness.”

iv) “PERPETUAL.”

Jesus ministers in the power of ...

“Resurrection Life.”

He lives forever more to make intercession for us.

Romans 11 Verse 36

“For of Him, and through Him, andto Him, [are] all things: to whom [be]Glory for ever. Amen.”

Hebrews 1 Verse 8 “But unto The Son [He saith],Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptreof Righteousness [is] the sceptre of Thy Kingdom.”

v) “PERFUME.”

Jesus is fragrant in His whole being.

Ephesians 5 Verse 2 “And walk in Love, as Christalso hath Loved us, and hath given Himself for usan offering and a sacrifice to God for asweetsmelling savour.”

The worship of the saints is pleasing to Godwhen it too can be described in these terms above.

After all of the ingredients were collected,beaten very small and blended together, they were

burned on The Golden Altar which is

The Altar of Incense.

A small amount also was placed before

The Ark of the Covenant, thus we cansee that the same fragrant incense that was burned

on The Altar of Incense every day was also

perpetually before The Very Presence ofGod. As we come in worship to Godwith prepared incense andspontaneous praise, a fragrant lifeof relationship to Jesus.

A style of Life formed in the crucible of a brokenand contrite spirit which shows a waiting heart, atempered heart and a fervent attitude, we find that

the same incense is already there in thePerson of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He has already manifested thesecharacteristics of worship and has preceded us into

the Father’s Presence and by both His Bodybroken for us and His Blood madethe way open for us to enter intoThe Father’s Presence.

Now that is The Truth of True communion,which allows us to,

John 4 Verses 23-24 “But the hourcometh, and now is, when the trueworshippers shall worship TheFather in Spirit and in Truth: for TheFather seeketh such to worshipHim.” (24) “God is Spirit: and theythat worship him must worship himin Spirit and in Truth.”

“Seeing then that we have a GreatHigh Priest, that is passed into TheHeavens, Jesus The Son of God,let us hold fast [our] profession.”(15) “For we have not an high priestwhich cannot be touched with thefeeling of our infirmities; but was inall points tempted like as [we are,yet] without sin.”(16) “Let us therefore come boldlyunto the throne of grace, that wemay obtain mercy, and find grace tohelp in time of need.”

These same spices of DivineCharacter made manifest in Christare also to be manifested in Christ’sBody, the Church.

The Church is The Garden ofThe Lord from which these spicesare to flow out from.

Song of Songs 4 Verses 12-16

“A garden inclosed [is] my sister,[my] spouse; a spring shut up, afountain sealed.”(13) “Thy plants [are] an orchard ofpomegranates, with pleasant fruits;camphire, with spikenard,”(14) “Spikenard and saffron; calamusand cinnamon, with all trees offrankincense; myrrh and aloes, withall the chief spices:”(15) “A fountain of gardens, a well ofliving waters, and streams fromLebanon.” (16) “Awake, O north wind;and come, thou south; blow uponmy garden, [that] the spices thereofmay flow out. Let my beloved comeinto His garden, and eat Hispleasant fruits.”

The word “virgins,” you will notice, is in theplural form of the word. Hence, we can see that towalk with God, is not to walk alone, we stand in the

company of “The Household of Faith.”

The word “virgins,” also means

“hidden ones ... ”

Colossians 3 Verse 3

“For ye are dead, and your life ishid with Christ in God.”

So we can see from this, that those that seekfor the deepest relationship, can in that sense

become cut off from the world andidentified with Christ in His death,burial and resurrection.

Just like the marriage relationship,

“separated unto God.”

“The Church andthe Corporate Anointing.”

saith The LORD; for I am marriedunto you: and I will take you one of a city, andtwo of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:”

Romans 7 Verse 4 “Wherefore, my brethren, yealso are become dead to The Law by The Body of

Christ; that ye should be married toanother, even to Him who is raisedfrom the dead, that we should bringforth fruit unto God.”

Psalm 91 Verse 1 “He that dwelleth in thesecret place of The Most High shallabide under the shadow of TheAlmighty.”

Dead to “self,” but ... “hidden,” andalive to Christ.

Song of Songs 3 Verse 6 “Who [is] this that... cometh out ... of the wilderness... like pillars of smoke, ... perfumedwith myrrh and frankincense, ... withall powders of the merchant?”

In the Song of Solomon, the Shulamite woman,is pictured coming out of her wilderness. The placeof her previous wanderings and failures. The Kinghad called her to rise up and,

“ ... come away ... ”

She does so, putting her past behind her, thepillar of cloud, is representative of The Anointing,the covering with which she was protected in thewilderness, She is coming out,

“ ... the hidden one ... ”

Coming out with new aptitude and ability thatshe never before thought possible. The bride comesout of her chamber dressed in clean white raiment,empowered by The Spirit of His Holiness!

Human attempts to substitute or manipulateThe Presence of God will produce death instead oflife. True rest in God is confident Faith in Him, whichreleases us from having to pull strings and

manipulate our environment to our ends ... thefact remains, that only He will beGlorified!

Song of Songs 6 Verses 8-10 “There are threescorequeens, and fourscore concubines, and virginswithout number.”

(9) “My dove, my undefiled is [but]one; she [is] the [only] one of hermother, she [is] the choice [one] ofher that bare her. The daughterssaw her, and blessed her; [yea], thequeens and the concubines, andthey praised her.”(10) “Who [is] she [that] looketh forthas the morning, fair as the moon,clear as the sun, [and] terrible as[an army] with banners?”

“Behold, how good and howpleasant [it is] for brethren to dwelltogether in unity!”(2) “[It is] like the precious ointmentupon the head, that ran down uponthe beard, [even] Aaron’s beard:that went down to the skirts of hisgarments;”(3) “As the dew of Hermon, [and asthe dew] that descended upon themountains of Zion: for there theLORD commanded the blessing,[even] life for evermore.”

The song directs us to the picture of the High-

priest receiving The Anointing of “theprecious ointment” ... it was to typify

that which came upon Jesus, and that which

is to come upon His Brethren, TheChurch.

“The Anointing resides with us …”

In verse two we read,

“It is like precious ointment uponthe head, that ran down upon thebeard ... ”

Christ is “The Head,”“The head” being the pinnacle, the place of

“government” and “direction.”

Isaiah 9 Verse 6 “For unto us a child is born, unto

us a son is given: and thegovernment shall be upon Hisshoulder: and His name shall becalled Wonderful, Counsellor, Themighty God, The everlasting Father,The Prince of Peace.”

From there, all proceeds down and out to every

extremity of the body. From “the Head” to“the beard,” the beard signifies thecoming into full maturity.

“Let all things be donedecently and in order.”

The Oil of Anointing, then proceeds to coverthe entire Body, from Christ, The Head of TheChurch, down to the most newborn of believers ...the young lambs of the Head Shepherd.

“ ... that went down to the skirtsof His garments;”

It is our firm conviction, that each and everybeliever carries with them the deposit of God’sAnointing.

Each one being uniquely “sealed,” with the

“earnest,” of our inheritance. Each one carrieswith them the deposit of God’s Anointing,

but there is none more powerfulthan the “corporate Anointing.”

“ ... for there The LORDcommanded the Blessing, [even]Life for evermore.”

This is where The Anointing as such, is themost powerful of all, for where The Lord is, then sotoo is His presence for it’s here, in His presence,that the blessing is commanded above all else!

There, and only there, you realise the fact ofthe reality of it all. That it’s not something that canbe trumped up - pumped up or paid for in the guiseof some sort of Pentecostal fervour. Simon thesorcerer was one who found that out much to hisdisgust!

Neither is The Anointing the possession of anyparticular or peculiar individual ... yet I would hazardto suggest that if that was your heart motive instead

of “Love toward God,” then you would be ofall people most peculiar indeed.

For your uncomely form would be one that was,

“HEAD HEAVY, WITHOUT ANYHEART APPLICATION!”

We hear in music the undertones andovertones of Heaven, I am sure that music is a giftof God’s Love. A gift given in order that we mayexpress our heart strings towards our Father ... ourCreator God.

As Hosea said, and I believe that he hasexpressed God's heart here.

Hosea 11 Verse 4(a)

“I drew them with cords of a man,with bands of Love: ... ”

The Lord Jesus Christ, is referred to in

scripture as, “The Lion of the tribe ofJudah.”

Characteristically, the name “Judah”means “Praise.” Let us look for a moment atPsalm 149, to further comprehend as to how we are

to move in “corporate worship,” in the flowof the Holy Spirit’s Anointing of the saints toworship.

“Praise ye The Lord. Sing unto TheLord a new song, and His Praise inthe congregation of the saints.”

The temple of God in the Old Testament was aman-made building. God no longer dwells in earth-made or man-made buildings,

“He dwells in us.”

1 Corinthians 3 Verse 16 “Know ye not thatye are The Temple of God, and thatThe Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

The difference between The house of Godportrayed in the Old Testament and The house ofGod in The New Testament.

Hebrews 3 Verse 6

“But Christ as a Son over His Ownhouse; whose house are we, if wehold fast the confidence and therejoicing of the hope firm unto theend.”

Hebrews 9 Verse 11 “But Christ being come an high

priest of good things to come, by a greaterand more perfect tabernacle, notmade with hands, that is to say, notof this building;”

In the sixth chapter of Romans, God’s Wordtells us Christ was indeed raised from the dead bythe Glory of the Father.

Romans 8 Verse 11 “But if The Spirit ofHim that raised up Jesus from thedead dwell in you ... ”

The Bible calls the “Glory” of The Father,The Spirit ... that is, The Holy Spirit, The Life of God

personified, and He is called “The Anointing.”

Therefore, we can understand that TheAnointing of God’s Holy Spirit abides with us, Heresides in us! So you can see, that there is theindividual anointing within us because of the Holy

Spirit. But there is also the “corporateAnointing,” when the congregation of His saints

gather together to worship Him, in “Spirit andin Truth.”

Now, back to verse one of Psalm 149, relating

to the “New Song,” ... “Sing unto theLord a new song.”

Just what do we understand by this “NewSong?” Well, King David had the answer when

he cried out before the Lord “take not ThyHoly Spirit from me!”

Because later on, we find him exhorting the

Lord to, “Let Your Spirit rise within me,set my feet dancing and my heartsinging!”

1 Corinthians 14 Verse 15(b) states,

“What is it then? I will pray with TheSpirit, and I will pray with theUnderstanding also: I will sing withThe Spirit, and I will sing with theUnderstanding also.”

“... I will sing with the spirit ...”

And Ephesians 5 Verse 18(b)-20 states,

“... but be filled with The Spirit;”(19) “ Speaking to yourselves inpsalms and hymns and spiritualsongs, singing and making melodyin your heart to The Lord;”(20) “ Giving thanks always for all things unto Godand The Father in The Name of our Lord JesusChrist;”

Let’s now go back to the Old Testament and

see what happened when there was “God’svisible manifestation” of His Glory.

2 Chronicles 5 Verses 11-14

“And it came to pass, when the priestswere come out of The Holy [Place]:(for all the priests [that were]present were sanctified, [and] did not[then] wait by course:”

(12) “Also the Levites [which were] thesingers, all of them of Asaph, ofHeman, of Jeduthun, with their sonsand their brethren, [being] arrayedin white linen, having cymbals andpsalteries and harps, stood at the east

end of the altar, and with them anhundred and twenty priestssounding with trumpets:)”(13) “It came even to pass, as thetrumpeters and singers [were] asone, to make one sound to beheard in praising and thanking TheLORD; and when they lifted up[their] voice with the trumpets andcymbals and instruments of musick,and Praised The LORD, [saying],For [He is] Good; for His Mercy[endureth] for ever: that [then] thehouse was filled with a cloud, [even]The House of The LORD;”

(14) “So that the priests could notstand to minister by reason of thecloud: for The Glory of The LORDhad filled The House of God.”

As a spontaneous flow ofAnointed, unified worship, rising upin an anthem of adoration to ourFather God. It was then, that HisGlory so filled The house!

No doubt, there was prophetic songaccompanied by the musical instruments, andtogether, it formed a beautiful harmonic flow ofworship.

It is an incredible concept when you think of it,this gift of music, not only edifies the Body of Christ,

it is also a vehicle whereby weworship “corporately” our FatherGod! Music and song, has beendescribed as “the language of Love... the expression of the inner (spirit)man.” And as such, enables the creature man toexpress his heart before his Creator God.

From the above passages, wecan begin to take hold of the idea ofcorporate worship ... in that it isunified, blending as one, “To makeone sound, the sound of openpraise and thanksgiving.”

“ ... And when they lifted uptheir voice ... ”

Psalm 22 Verse 3 “But Thou art Holy, Othou that inhabitest the praises ofIsrael.”

Apart from being a Pillar of cloudby day and a column of Fire bynight The Lord has stepped intointervene in the protection of HisChildren.

2 Chronicles 20 Verses 21-22 “And when he had

consulted with the people, he appointedsingers unto The LORD, and thatshould Praise The Beauty ofHoliness, as they went out beforethe army, and to say, Praise TheLORD; for His Mercy endureth forever.” (22) “And when they began tosing and to Praise, The LORD setambushments against the childrenof Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir,which were come against Judah;and they were smitten.”

This discourse in no way presupposes to be

the final word in relation to the study of “God’sAwesome Presence ... referred toas The Anointing.”

What we have seen in the pages of this

dialogue, is that those ... “who are called ofGod, are anointed of God ... setaside to serve Him, to minister untoThe Lord in the priests office.”

No less than 12 times do we read in NewTestament scripture that the disciples and the

believers were “in one accord!” In theunity of “accord” ... things happenbecause Jesus is present in ourmidst. It’s the power of agreement,

“We and The Holy Spirit agree!”

Acts 15 Verse 28(a) “For it seemed goodto The Holy Ghost, and to us, …”

In the Old Testament, the order of priest wasreferred to as the Levitical order. And as Hawtin has

stated8, “Kings could not intrude intothe priest’s office, and priests, couldnot sit on the throne of the king.The tribe of Levi produced thepriests, and Judah, she producedthe kings.” (end quote.)

Jesus Christ, He is King of Kingsand Lord of Lords ... our Great HighPriest. And as such, He has madeus a Kingdom of priests, a“Royal Priesthood,” after thesimilitude of Melchisedek.

Revelation 1 Verse 6 “And hath made usKings and Priests unto God and HisFather; to Him [be] Glory anddominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

All throughout The Old Testament, The Glory ofGod appeared as a cloud and filled the house.

When we read from The New Testament, we

see that the “Glory of God, is The Spiritof God.”

Acts 7 Verse 55 “But He, being full of The HolyGhost, looked up stedfastly into Heaven, and sawThe Glory of God, and Jesus standing on The RightHand of God,”

9The Commentator Sorge defines

“The Glory of God” as “the invasionof God’s reality into the humansphere”.

When the Old Testament was translated into

Greek, the writers used the word “Doxa,” for

“Glory” in reference to “The Glory ofGod.”

The word “Doxa,” encompasses a muchbroader meaning and brought the Hebrew words

“kabod” and “shekinah” together as one,

“Glory ...”

Romans 15 Verses 5-7 “Now The God of patienceand consolation grant you to be likeminded onetoward another according to Christ Jesus:”(6) “That ye may with one mind and one mouthGlorify God, even The Father of our Lord JesusChrist.” (7) “Wherefore receive ye one another, asChrist also received us to The Glory of God.”

Matthew 17 Verses 1-3 “And after six days Jesustaketh Peter, James, and John his brother, andbringeth them up into an high mountain apart,”

(2) “And was transfigured beforethem: and His Face did shine as thesun, and His raiment was white asthe light.” (3) “And, behold, there appeared untothem Moses and Elias talking with Him.”

Jesus’s face shone like the sun, and Hisclothes became as white as the light.

“ … and His Face did shine as thesun, and His raiment was white asthe light.”

The mention of the cloud and the radiance ofHis Light remind the reader of Moses, but inreference to this, only Luke mentions the word

“Glory:”

Luke 9 Verse 32(b)

“ … they saw His Glory, and the twomen that stood with Him.”

Now move to Luke 9 Verses 34-36

“While he thus spake, there came a cloud,and overshadowed them: and theyfeared as they entered into thecloud.” (35) “And there came a voiceout of the cloud, saying, This is Mybeloved Son: hear Him.”(36) “And when The Voice was past, Jesus wasfound alone. And they kept it close, and told no manin those days any of those things which they hadseen.”

This is the second time that TheFather Himself has declared “ThePresence” and “The Purpose” of TheSon with the words,

“ … hear Him.”

Not such a hard thing to do, “Hear,” but howmany of us have trouble with “The opening” of theears to,

“ … hear Him.”

You spend time in “ThePresence” and “Purity of Holiness”then don’t you think, that some of itis going to rub off on you!!!??

The Lord Himself has opened “The Way,”for us to “speak” and “Commune withHim.” Now, from my understanding, if you arespeaking to someone, that requires at least theirpresence on the other end of the line:

We draw closer to Him, He in turn responds

and draws closer to us as we “communicate”together, that’s called “Prayer.” And as thosetimes in His Presence grow, that’s called,

“Communication.”As we have “communication” with each

other this we refer to as “conversation.”

When we are still on our bedsand our hearts are responding toHis Whispers in our conscience,that’s called “Communion.”

Now, I’ve said that to say this,

“No communication,”“No communion,” “No communion,”“No common union,”“No friendship,” “No fellowship.”

And people wonder why they cry,“I feel far from God!”

Hebrews 11 Verse 6 “But without Faith it isimpossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God

must believe that He is, and that He is a

Moses and Joshua both stood in The Presenceand companionship of The Lord. There was nodoubt that the heart of both men were toward TheLord God Almighty.

Moses “wanted” and “asked” for more of

God’s Presence, but Joshua lingered inThe Presence of God!

God responds to those who are hungry for Him,

hungry “WHO HE IS … GOD!”

Yet again, in Exodus 34 Verses 29-35, we see

Moses “Face to Face” with Almighty God andGod’s Glory continued to radiate from the glowingface of Moses.

Exodus 34 Verses 29-35 “And it came to pass,when Moses came down from mount Sinai with thetwo tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he

came down from the mount, that Moses wistnot that the skin of his face shonewhile he talked with Him.”(30) “And when Aaron and all the children of Israel

saw Moses, behold, the skin of his faceshone; and they were afraid tocome nigh him.” (31) “And Moses called untothem; and Aaron and all the rulers of thecongregation returned unto him: and Moses talked

with them.” (32) “And afterward all thechildren of Israel came nigh: and hegave them in commandment all thatThe LORD had spoken with him inMount Sinai.” (33) “And till Moseshad done speaking with them, heput a vail on his face.”

Turn with me now to,

Matthew 17 Verses 4-9 “Then answered Peter, andsaid unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: ifthou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; onefor Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.”(5) “While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloudovershadowed them: and behold a voice out of the

cloud, which said, This is My BelovedSon, in whom I AM well pleased;hear ye Him.” (6) “And when the disciplesheard it, they fell on their face, and were soreafraid.” (7) “And Jesus came and touched them,and said, Arise, and be not afraid.”

(8) “And when they had lifted up their eyes, theysaw no man, save Jesus only.” (9) “And as they

came down from the mountain, Jesuscharged them, saying, Tell thevision to no man, until The Son ofman be risen again from the dead.”

In these verses, the countenance of both

Moses, Elijah and Jesus Himself all

radiated “The Shekinah Glory of God.”

So much so, that it threw Peterinto a “carnal tentmakingconfusion.” All that Peter in hisexcitement wanted to do, was make“booth tents” for all!

The interesting part of the conversation wasthat Jesus told the disciples to,

“ … Tell the vision to no man, untilThe Son of man be risen again fromthe dead.”

When you are in the companyand companionship of The LordJesus Christ, people “know” and

“respond” to it.

Either they are draw to HisPresence in YOU, or they rebel!

Fact being, is that there isnothing unattractive about“The Beauty of His Holiness.” Hehas power to draw people toHimself.

It’s “The power of His Great andAwesome Love for His Created.”

As the people stood up and took note thatMoses was in communion with The Lord. So too willthey stand up and take note with you!

It would be fairly safe to say, that anyone, or forthat, anything which causes hindrance to our

relationship with our Lord and Saviour ... is “anti”His purposes.

If it is hindrance or disruption toward Christ,

His will, His Purpose, and His GoodPleasure. It is deemed as being ...“Anti-christ in nature!”

The more that one relates and mixes with thatsort of behaviour, the more it tends to rub off. Until

you end with a situation of “like attractinglike!”

Anything, or anyone that causes either a

hindrance or disruption to our “Worship,”“Fellowship,” “Prayer,” or “the studyand feeding on God’s Word.” Istherefore NOT of God!

“Icabod ...The Glory Has Departed!”

Anything, or anybody that disrupts, hinders or

excludes ... “Balance and order,”“Understanding and perception,”that has a “hidden Motive oragenda in its heart.”

Anything or anyone that stifles“Wisdom in counsel” and rejectsteaching in a know-it-all fashion ofan un - “Teachable spirit” these willhinder the flow of the anointing by“quenching the Holy Spirit.”

That is why scripture tells us not to

“quench,” or stifle the flow of God’sHoly Fire! He who brings the“warmth and light” of Christ’s ownLife to each of His own.

In the Book of Acts, we see the example of

“tongues of fire” resting on those that wereinfilled with The Holy Spirit.

We tend to quench when wehinder its sacred flow or smotherThe Presence of “Holiness” with thedust of the flesh.

1 Thessalonians 5 Verse 19

“Quench not The Spirit.”

So easily we cause “grief” to TheSpirit of God by the flapping ofuncontrollable tongues ... tonguesthat run so readily to put into action,thoughts that once spoken becomedeeds.

“Tongues of fire” ... are meant toindicate The Presence of Holiness,not the uncontrolled ravages of aforest “wild fire!”

Surely the presence of The Holy Spirit in ourlives should then give confident assurance of God’sseal and the inheritance that awaits.

The contemplation of which brings the desired

hope that we would want to “put off”the nature of “the old” for the purityof “the new!”

Ephesians 4 Verses 17-32 “This I say therefore,and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not

as other Gentiles ... walk, in the vanity oftheir mind, ...” (18) “Having theunderstanding darkened, beingalienated from The Life of Godthrough the ignorance that is inthem, because of the blindness oftheir heart:” (19) “Who being past feeling havegiven themselves over unto lasciviousness, to ...

work all uncleanness withgreediness ...” (20) “But ye have notso learned Christ;” (21) “If so be thatye have heard Him, and have beentaught by Him, as The Truth is inJesus:”

We both “grieve” and“quench” when we refuse to letgo of the old nature and partake ofthe new!

We are instructed “NOT TO,”

a) Which causes the understanding to be darkened.b) Which causes us to be alienated from The Life of

God through ignorance.c) Because of the blindness of the heart.d) Because when we go past feeling, we give

ourselves over unto lasciviousness, which is,(totally unrestrained thoughts and imaginations.

We are instructed to put off ... the formerconversation of the old man.

3) “ ... which is corrupt accordingto the deceitful lusts; ...”

4) “Wherefore putting away lying. ”

5) “Be ye angry, and sin not ...”

8) “Let no corrupt communicationproceed out of your mouth ...”

(30) “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, wherebyye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”(31) “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, andclamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you,with all malice:”(32) “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,

forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sakehath forgiven you.” (distinctions mine.)

Because if we do not, we are in error ofcommitting sins of both,

“Thought”“Word”“and Deed!”

Sometimes, people have to become just plaindesperate before God ... for much of the time I don’tthink that our desire for that intimacy of relationshipis desperate enough. Remember the cry of anguishfrom Hannah, the mother of Samuel?

Her cry, was a cry of the heart, a cry from aheart that knew it could cope no longer ... and thatno man had the means to come to the aid of herdesperation.

“Give me a child ... lest I die!”

Her cry of desperation revealed its dedication,because the name of her man child Samuel, means

“Asked of God!” Now Samuel was destinedto become successor to the dying priesthood ofIsrael.

It was the time that Eli served as Israel’s priest

at Shiloh because this is where the Ark of God hadbeen located.

Through Eli’s compromise with his own sonsand their evil ways, God had decreed that thepriesthood would be snatched away from Eli.

It would not pass on to Hophniand Phinehas but be given toanother, their successor - Samuel.

Remember, that as a young child, Samuel hadbeen spoken to by The Lord. The surprising thing isthat even at this time, old Eli could not stir himselfaway from his slothful position.

Israel proclaimed war against the armies of thePhilistines who were encamped at Aphek about 20miles distance by messenger from Shiloh.

A great battle was fought a short way beyond atMizpeh ending in the total defeat of the Hebrewarmy.

Four thousand fell in the one battle. Indesperation they cried for the safety of The Ark ofThe Lord to be among them.

They fetched The Ark from Shiloh and this was

the first time since the settlement of Canaan thatThe Ark had been removed from its sanctuary andEli’s unfaithful sons, Hophni and Phinehasaccompanied it.

Again, the army of the Philistines arrayedthemselves against Israel and a very greatslaughter ensued as Israel was again smitten.

A surviving messenger from the tribe ofBenjamin ran back the 20 miles to share the sadtidings at Shiloh.

Here Eli sat outside the gate of the Sanctuary,anxiously awaiting news from the battle field. It wasthen that the national calamity was made known tohim.

1 Samuel 4 Verse 17 “And the messengeranswered and said, Israel is fledbefore the Philistines, and therehath been also a great slaughteramong the people, and thy twosons also, Hophni and Phinehas,are dead, and The Ark of God istaken.”

Eli heard the sad news that those who served

in The House of God were also slain in battle andThe Ark of God’s Presence was captured by

“The arm of the flesh.” Hearing theweight of the sad news, Eli fellbackwards from his seat, broke hisneck and died, “The Glory” haddeparted from Israel.

It was then that the wife of Phinehas heard thesad calamity and the news caused the pains ofchildbirth to come upon her.

She travailed and brought forth Phinehas’ son

and in the effort of her dyingmoments she named him“ICHABOD,” She named him wellbecause The Ark of God was takenand “ICHABOD,” signifies,

“NO GLORY!”

As you can readily see, the Bible places animportant weight on the significance of names,especially proper names, or the names of people.

It is from here, that we need to digress slightly

to look at the characters named as examples in ourstudy. Because it is from here, that much is in factrevealed.

“ELI,” He was high priest when

“God’s Ark” was at Shiloh.

He was the eldest son of Aaron’sfourth son - Ithamar. Eli lived till hewas 98 and acted as a civil judgefor forty years till after the death ofSamson.

His name comes from theHebrew word for “lofty,” whichspeaks of one that is so “proud andhaughty” that they constantly lookdown their noses at those that donot meet their supposed station inlife and they suffer what I call,

“vanity of the mind kind!”

“HOPHNI,” Hebrew, meaning a “pair offists” speaks of “Paul’s shadow boxerbeating the air, but not practicingwhat it preaches.” “Forcing peopleby word of mouth with clenched,angry fists to mould into your shape... or else, my way or the highway!”

1 Corinthians 9 Verses 26-27 “I therefore so run,

not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one thatbeateth the air:” (27) “But I keep under my

body, and bring it into subjection: lest that byany means, when I have preachedto others, I myself should be acastaway.”

A castaway of The Faith, a hypocrite, all puffed

up and preaching, “do as I say, don’t doas I do!” They are one thing in The House ofGod, and totally the opposite outside.

Posturing in pretence in order to distract awayfrom what’s really happening with themselves. Butat the same time loving their deceit and the acclaimof men!

“PHINEHAS,” Hebrew, meaning “mouthof a serpent.” A smooth worded, oily tonguedpoisoner.

Also called “a mouth of brass” and

brass in scripture speaks to us of judgement.

We are judged and accountable for the wordsof our mouth whether they be smooth, oily andmanipulative or as harsh and as cold as brass.

No different to the inward nature of his brotherexcept in a more cunning disguise! This son was aself-opiniated judgemental legalist.

Psalm 140 Verses 1-3 “Deliver me, OLORD, from the evil man: preserveme from the violent man;”(2) “Which imagine mischiefs in[their] heart; continually are theygathered together [for] war.”(3) “They have sharpened theirtongues like a serpent; adders’poison [is] under their lips.”

The Ark of God’s Presence, wascaptured and held in bondage bythe warring enemy, the Philistines.This was not enough for them, theyhad to kill the priesthood.

The priesthood was ill-equippedthrough compromise and lack oftraining and understanding andwere slain in battle.

I think that by now we are starting to get the

point. The Philistines speaks of “the flesh,”flesh, that is at enmity against God.Flesh always stifles and hinders thepurposes of God.

Where is that very real and veryvital Presence of The Holy Spirit inthe congregation of the saints toproduce fruits meet forrighteousness and the very worksof God Himself?

Where are the signs? Where arethe wonders? Where is the Glory?The dying priesthood will alwaysgive birth to Ichabod as it dies. ButGod has already prepared hisSamuel.

God has ordained another priesthood, apriesthood of eternal fellowship and communionwith Christ. A priesthood which cannot pass away, aroyal priesthood of royal power and royal authority,the Melchisedek priesthood whose Head hasalready entered in Glory.

Can you hear these words? They are “FORUS!”

2 Kings 6 Verses 16-17 “And he answered, Fear

not: for they that be with us are morethan they that be with them.”(17) “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray

thee, open his eyes, that he may see.And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man;and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full ofhorses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”

We live in “this day of opportunity,”this “today,” is “a day of hope” and “aday of promise.”

“Today if you will hear His voice,harden not your heart ...”

“God is a rewarder of those thatdiligently seek Him!”

A-men!

It’s a wonderful and amarvellous thing, that in this age,we can still have that direct accessto Jesus Himself, but again, I canonly encourage you.

Either you are who you say youare and you do have that vibrancyof relationship with Jesus ...or you do not! If you don’t, please,do something about it RIGHTNOW!!!

“Dear Lord Jesus, I have oftenheard it said, that I can have a livingrelationship with you.”

“To me Jesus this makes a lot ofsense. I cannot be expected tocommunicate with someone who Ido not know.”

“Please, Lord reveal Yourself tome, I want, I need that relationshipwith You personally. So now DearLord I open my heart to receive withthe expectancy I understand, thatonly you can fill.”

These lessons come from the second letter ofPeter and work well alongside the previous series

entitled, “The Beatitudes” which cover thedevelopment of our Christian Character.

If a man has come to the place of little or nogrowth, then surely, he has remained as a babe. Ifhe has not given himself over to be dealt with byThe Spirit of Grace, then he is marked by the arm ofthe flesh.

He is still a Christian, but a carnal Christian, ababe in Christ. But if he completely surrenders hiswill to The Holy Spirit, he will rapidly and willinglychoose to put down the deeds of the flesh andbecome what God’s Word calls a

“ Spiritual man.”

Series, “The Parables of Christ ...”(Matthew 13 Verses 1-53)

The disciples, they had heardHis first four parables spoken to thelistening crowd ... the multitude.

Jesus did not use parables inthe earlier part of His ministry, andwhen He began to use them, it wasa matter of surprise to his disciples,who asked Him His reason fordoing so.

Matthew 13 Verses 10-13 “And the disciples came,

and said unto Him, Why speakest Thouunto them in parables?”(11) “He answered and said unto them,

Because it is given unto you toknow the mysteries of The Kingdomof Heaven, but to them it is notgiven.”

(12) “For whosoever hath, to himshall be given, and he shall havemore abundance: but whosoeverhath not, from him shall be takenaway even that he hath.”(13) “Therefore speak I to them inparables: because they seeing seenot; and hearing they hear not,neither do they understand.”

The whole thing turns on the distinction

between “earnest inquirers” and

“careless hearers.” The earnest inquirerhas ears to hear; the other has not.

That is, instead of apprehending The Truth, heis only perplexed and confused by it, and instead ofgoing away enriched, he is poorer than ever.

The meaning is so simple and familiar, thateven a child can understand it. Being of the natureto connect with everyday things, things that arefrequently observed.

Parables, are the meal prepared for us by TheLord of The Harvest, He prepares a meal for eachof His laborers, though they are few, all are well fed.

He has seen to it, that a young lad now bringsto the table,

“Five loaves and two fish!”

This is something for us all towell consider, they had twelvebaskets full, after the crowd wasfed.

Jesus took the twelve, andturned the world inside out, to theright side up!

Many may bring the Scripturesto the mind, but The Lord alone canprepare the mind to receive HisWord: Our Master, our Saviour Jesus differs from

all other teachers ... they may reach theear, but only He can instruct theheart! “Others may teach what is tobe believed, but only Jesus canteach us how to believe!”

Series, “The Gleanings ...”

Not such a strange word really, but a wordwhich is not often used to day. What does it mean

for us “to glean?” In simple terms, it means

“to gather together.”

We gather together that which will draw us

deeper into “Relationship” with our Lord andSavior Jesus Christ.

We, are gathering and gleaning in the fields ofour kinsman Redeemer King Jesus.

“The Gleanings,” was written out of gratitudefor my own Salvation, and the way that He my Kinghas Blessed me by revealing more about Himself astogether we build the Relationship that religioncannot offer!

Many, many Brothers and Sisters in Christ aredesperately hungry and we who feed at His table

have a “duty of care” to share with thosearound us. This is the reason for this series.

To answer questions and have all things in

common ... the basis of “communion,common-union” so enjoy, grow deeper intoJesus Christ and be Blessed.

Poem: “The Garden of My Heart …”

In the garden I the arrived with dawn,the air was crisp,it was still,the birds delighted the morning sun.It was quite,The Lord whispered Oh, my heart

“look, write, see and hear.”

I saw the sky,Heaven’s blue skirt.The glow of,Your Handiwork, painted in clouds.Then said He in

“the garden of my heart,”“In seeing, see, in hearing hear,”I was hearing The Voice of our God!Thank You Jesus!!!

My hand trembles at His Touch,The Anointing of His Spirit flows …I write, please Lord,please tell me more.His reply to my soul,

“You have much to hear!”

There is a glow in my heart that say’s, this is

“the grain” that I want in my storehouse:

Jesus used the description of harvested grainas a wonderful way of showing us why it is

important for “whole grains” of wheat to have

“The Husk” removed.

If grain that is harvested has “the husk”intact, then it will not be stored well for later use. Asa matter of fact, you are inviting the spread ofmould.

Grain is normally harvested when ripe, and the

“ripened husks” are winnowed. This is theprocess whereby the grains themselves, are tossedinto the air and as they do, they rub against eachother to remove the outer sheaf or husk.

God’s desire, is that we play an active role towork with The Holy Spirit in and through our lives toremove the excess baggage. To remove the old

covering, so that the “pure whole grain” willremain.

And there be no “Bushel of self,” there

be no “Bushel of former days!”

A bushel measure, was a standard measureand filled a woven basket made to the bushel sizeand was used to store that measure in a dry andsafe manner till it was required to be used:

Matthew 5 Verse 15 “Neither do men light a candle,and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; andit giveth light unto all that are in the house.”

You stick a lighted flame under a dry wovenbasket and it will either smother the flame, or setfire to the house!

“I must decrease,in order that He increase!”

Grain, was bought to the “threshingfloor,” and there it was threshed. The sheaves,were beaten with a rod or with a winnowing fork inorder to separate the grain from the stork.

Once the pile of grain was a reasonable height,it was time to see the leathery husks come off. Toachieve the removal of the husk, the grains weretossed into the air to land on a round cane basket.They were then flipped up into the air, until the huskblew off into the breeze.

Winnowed grain, de-husked, and dry, nowready for proper storage in the garner or granary tillthe time of use. All the husk, was then burned off.

Matthew 3 Verse 12 “Whose fan is in His Hand, andHe will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather Hiswheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaffwith unquenchable fire.”

About the author.

Born and raised in inner Sydney, N.S.W. Australia, Robertwas a child when the likes of Arthur Stace, Alan Walker and TedNoffs ministered to Sydney in the nineteen fifties.

The Lord spoke to Robert at the age of seven, outside of theold Cleveland Street Congregational Church. For many years, hecontinued to live for himself. That is, until The Lord again spoke tohim in The Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. He received JesusChrist into his life as Lord and Saviour in February, 1980. BeingWater Baptised in April, Born Again and Filled with The Holy Spiritin May of the same year.

Bob and Nikki married, in October of 1987 and have anawesome family of five plus four of Bob’s older children withaltogether and to date twenty Grandchildren.

Bob has compiled and published materials helpful for growthand development in Christ Jesus. Sadly, but with great joy, Nikkipassed into Glory to be with our Lord. 21st July, 2014.

Over the years, Bob has ministered as a Pastor/ Teacher andfunctioned as itinerant Preacher with a strong call to Missions.
