Lernziele
• To be able to name body parts in German
• To understand the difference between singular and plural body parts
• To be able to form plurals in German (of body parts)
• To be able to describe the body parts of a made-up monster / alien in German.

Step 1 – Body parts and plurals
• You should now have a really good understanding of the German words for different parts of the body.
• The next slide shows you a list of all the ones you need to know.
• If you are still not sure about them – do the quizlet activities again.

Step 1 – Body parts and plurals • On the previous slide you can see how to form
the plural (more than one) of all the body parts.
• As you know, there are lots of different plural forms in German.
• Zum Beispiel (for example):
add an “e” Arm Arme
add an umlaut and an “e” Kopf Köpfe
add “n” Lippe Lippen
add “en” Ohr Ohren
no change Knie Knie

• It’s from “Hallo aus Berlin” - a BBC programme to teach students German from the 90’s.
• It’s amazing!
• Watch the video – follow the words – sing the song – do the dance!

• You are now going to produce a piece of writing in German to describe a monster / alien that you have made up.
• The monster / alien needs to have a strange number of body parts.
• Some singular – e.g. one eye
• Some plural- e.g. ten legs
• To help you do this look at the next slide.
