series,andatherapydogsession.I’vecontactedtheSt.John’sAmbulancetherapydogprogramsojustwaitingtohearbackfromthem.Ouellette:Athleticsportfoliois100%undercontrol,whichisweird.Iorderedshirtsoverlastweektobesoldtoourplayers.We’llsellittothemfor$5.Ifwerunout,we’lldipintoShonali’sstore,ifwehavetoomanywecansavethemfornextyear.Itdidgoalittleoverbudget,butIhavealotofextrainmybudget.IfyouwantIcanreallocateitbutIdon’thavethebudgetlinesinmyheadnow.HighParkrunwillbeonNovember7.MirandaLispearheadedthisone.She’sdoneagreatjob.WehaveenoughTTCtokenstoprovideroundtripsfor35students.She’salsoorganizingahotchocolateeventafterwards.IamalsoplanningoncollaboratingwiththeFirstYearDirectorsportfolio.Wewerethinkingwecoulddoeitheravarsityhockeygame,orourhockeycaptaincontactedmetodayanditlookslikethey’llmaketheplayoffs.SoIthinkitwouldbeawesomewherewecouldgetaneventtoavarsitygame,haveatailgateparty,havesomehotchocolatebeforeorsomethingTheFirstYearportfoliowouldbeagreatonetogetinvolvedinthisandtointegratesomeofthedirectors.TheWorkoutwithWoodsworthcampaignisalsostarting.Tsui:I’vebeendealingwithpubcrawloverthepastweeks,I’llspeaktoitintheagenda.I’mplanningcoffeecuppingattheendofNovemberwiththeremainingbudget.It’llbeasmalleventwithmax20people.WithWelcomeBackSocialandCoffeeCrawl,thestudentsareenjoyingthepassive,simpleeventswe’rehaving.Fortheremainderofthemonth,RyanandIwillbedealingwiththesocialcommitteewhichwe’vealreadybegundraftingemailsfor.CoffeeCrawlwasasuccess.Winterfestcommitteepagejuststarted,RyanandIarealreadyon,butnothinghasreallybeenspokenaboutonityet.I’vealreadybeenincontactwiththegalacoordinators.Nathani:Thisismyfirstexecmeeting,soI’mexcitedtogetworking.Sofar,I’vejustbeentryingtogetmyfeetwetwithit.I’vemetwithTeekatoshowmewhatwehavesofar,andI’vealsometwithDylan.I’mgoingtothebanktomorrowtogetsigningauthority.I’llcatchupwithsingingwithchequeshopefullythisweek.DylanandIwillbesittinginthisofficeonFridayfor7-8hourstocatchupwiththetwomonthsofexpensifyingandledgeritems.Lakhani:I’vehadpeopleonPRcommitteeworkingondifferentthings.Oneperson,forexample,isdoingblogpostsonceamonth,tryingtogetinterviewswithclubsandteamcaptains.I’vehadthreepeopleaskmeaboutHalloweenHauntandseeingifwe’resellingtickets,soIwantedtoseeifwecouldstilldothat.Barbaraaskedmefortheexactcontentofthesignscauseshewantedtogetaquoteonit.TheWiNCpresidentaskedmeaboutspace.Theydon’thaveaplacetostorethings;theydidn’tevenknowtheirstuffwasintheoffice.Theywerewonderingifwewouldgivethemspaceinthebasement,orevenalocker.BesidesthatI’mdoingacontestonsocialmediaforfreemovietickets.Soitwouldbeawesomeifyouencouragedpeopletoenter.IalsospoketoChristinatodoaninternalelectionforPart-TimeandMaturestudentsbecausethosepositionsarestillempty.Shesaidshewouldreachouttogroupsandaskaround.

Hauck:Ongio,TeekaandIhavebeendealingwithPubCrawlandcommentsforTheVarsity,meetingwithsomeofthestudentswhoorganizedtheboycott.TeekaandImetwiththemontheweekend.Theconversationwasproductive,itwentwell,weheardeachother’spoints.OneofthethingsthatcameoutofthatwasinterestinsittinginontheStudents’CoalitionAgainstSexualViolence.They’relookingtodoaninter-collegiatecollaborationwithallthecolleges.IsaidIwaswillingtositinontheirmeetingsandbepartoftheconvo.TherewillalsobeaspacecommitteemeetingthatI’llalsobesittingon,beginningofNovember.TheWCSAcompositesarefinallysortedout.The2014-2015shouldbedeliveredsoonandupdatedtoincludeeveryone’sphoto.I’mhopefullygoingtotheswapshopthisweek,orcallthem,toseeiftheygotanycouchesinforthestudentslounge.I’llhopefullyhaveameetingwithLizathisweektogooverthingsandupdateher.3. StreetcarPubCrawlTsui:Ithasbeencancelled.Notbecauseofboycott,duetolow-ticketsales.Weimplementedmanyprecautionsthisyearassortofapiloteventofitskind,andthetransitionaffectedtheticketsales.Thebarsandstreetcarhasbeencontacted,we’renotlosinganymoney.Studentswillberefunded;they’llbecontactedsoon.We’llhavetoworkitouthowtodososoon.SavannahtheformerStudentLifeCoordinatorsentusanemailcommendingusforoureffortsforstudents’safetyandinclusivity.Christina,thecurrentStudentLifeCoordinatoralsosentanemailonbehalfoftheDean’sOffice.Ialsosentthesoberleadersanemailthankingthemforvolunteering.Hauck:We’vehadalotofsupportfromstudentlifeandjuststudentsingeneral.It’ssadthattheeventisn’tgoingforward,butatleastwetookastepintherightdirectioninregardstoriskmanagement.Therewasaboycotteventpagecreated,Idon’tbelieveitwasendorsedbyanyorganizationsbutitwasaskedtobeendorsed.TeekaandIreachedouttothestudentswhostartedtheboycotttomeetwiththem.Itwasaproductiveconversation,theygaveusgoodspointsandwegavethempointsonhowwechangedtheevent.ItmayleadtoalargerconversationregardingtheStudents’CoalitionAgainstSexualViolence.Tsui:IspokewithTeekaandwe’llemphasizemoreonsafetyandriskmanagementonallourfutureprogramming.Hauck:Anyquestions?Ouellette:I’mjustveryimpressedhowyouguyshandledit.Tsui:TheVaristyalsocontactedus,askingusquestionsonhowweplannedonhandlingprecautions.Ithinkthearticlewasreallywell-written,theydidincludeallourprecautionarymeasures.Hauck:Ithinkwehandledthesituationwell.ImetwithJasminefromtheUTSUbecausewhentheywereapproachedtoendorsetheboycott,shesaidthatshewouldspeaktous.Butmostofthestuffshewantedtotalkaboutwasinthearticle,soitwasgood.Iamveryproudofeveryone,andhowwehandledit.

IndividualInitiativeGrantLi:Idecidedonarecipientonthefirstgranttoday.IdiscussedwithTeekaaboutthis,Ihave$600toallocatetoagrant.I’dratherdothisonarollingbasisinsteadoftwoseparateones.Thiswaywecanalwaysreconsiderindividualswhohaveappliedbefore.IdiddecidetogiveKevinthefirstgrant.Heisoneoftheapplicantswhoisworkingalonesoheisn’tgettinghelpelsewhere.TherewasanotherapplicantwhoisverystrongbutisalreadygettingsupportfromUTSUandKevin’sisanacademicinitiative.Itistoattendaconference,theActuarialStudentsNationalAssociationConference.IneedtorunitbyAadiltoseeifit’sareimbursementorgiveitasacheque.I’mnotgoingtoletKevinknowjustyet.Ineedtodraftemailsforthosewhoaren’tgettingitandIneedtodecideifwe’llre-considerthemnextround.Also,WCSAboardmembersarenotallowedtoapplyjustbecauseit’saconflictofinterest,Igotafewquestionsaboutthat.Tsui:Whereistheconference?

Full-TimeStudents’DirectorsInourfirstmonthasfull-timestudents’directorswehaveyettocarryoutorcollaborateonanyeventsaswearestilllearningtheropes.However,wehavedonealotofbrainstormingofevents;wehavedecidedtohostatleastoneeventpermonthnexttermandplantohaveallofourresearchdoneforpossiblecosts,etc.overourholidaybreaktobepreparedforthenewsemester.Asforthissemester,Alyytooktheinitiativetobringforwardacoupleofevents.ShegotincontactwithTeekainregardstolookintoapuppyde-stressor.Wejustreceivedanemailthatoutlinesthedates,locationandcostsandaretakingthenextstep.Thepuppyde-stressor,PawsforaStudyBreak,willbeheldonDecember9thfrom11am–1pminWatersLounge,WoodsworthResidence.Wearelookingtocollaborateonthiseventtosplitthecosts,asourbudgetisnotenoughtorunalloftheeventswearehopingto.Afourwaysplitforpuppytherapywouldbe$70perfourth.SofarwearecollaboratingwiththeWoodsworthResidenceDirector,WenJung.Anothereventwearelookingtohostthissemesteristhe“Poppingballoonsde-stressor”.ZackhasbookedWatersLoungeonDecember1stfrom3pm–5pm.Wewillshortlybeadvertisingthisevent-asstudentsandfromexperienceinotherstudentgroups,weunderstandthattoomuchpriornoticeforaneventmayseeadeclineinthenumberofattendees,unlikebeinginvitedclosertothedate.(Hopetoseeallofyouguystherebtw)!OneoftheeventswehavebeenlookingintoplanningisaWoodsworthFROSTWeek:WoodsworthPubNightspecifically.Wewillfirstbelookingtodiscussthepossibilityofhostingsuchaneventinregardstosafetyconcerns,especiallybecauseofthepresenceofalcohol.Wearehighlymotivatedtobringeventsthisyearthatstudentscanenjoyandbenefitfrominallaspects.Oneofourprimarygoalsasfulltimestudents’directorsaretofosterinclusivityandcreateahealthyconnectedenvironmentwithinWoodsworth.WehopetodothisbyplanningeventsthataccommodateallWoodsworthstudents(i.e.wewillbeavoidingFridayeventsasFridayistheleastcommuterfriendlyweekdayandtherearereligiousminoritiesthatbelieveFridayisareligiousday,thusmustfollowthroughwiththeirreligious/familycommitments,whichmeanstheycannotattendourevents).ThatiswhyourtwoeventsplannedsofarareonaTuesday/Wednesday,andtheyarebothde-stressingeventssinceexamtimecanbeverystressful.

ItisagreatpleasureformetobeelectedasWoodsworthCollegeResidenceDirectorforthisyear.IstarttogettoknowthememberswithinWCSAandbefamiliarwithmyrolesandget involvedwithdifferentkindsofactivities. In thismonth, Igot incontactwith thePresidentofWoodsworthResidenceCouncil(WRC),StephanieBianco.IunderstandthattheliaisonbetweenWCSAandWRCwasalittlebitweakbefore.StephanieandIhadanagreementonhelpingeachotherfortherestoftheacademicyearandwewill talkmoreabout thewayof collaborationandhowWCSAandWRC can help each other in the future later. Iwill also collaboratewith the CommunityOutreach Director, Narsra to organize an event called “Movember Mustache DecoratingContest”onNovember30,2015.Wewillprovidevarioussortsofmaterialsfordecoratingthemustacheandgiveprizesattheendforpeoplewhowinthefirstthreeplaces.Moreover,IgotincontactwithbothoftheFulltimeStudentDirectorsandwearegoingtoorganizea
