Objective: “Private and public stakeholders jointly implement strategies for efficient,and environmental and climate-friendly industrial development.”

Towards Reduction of Pollution by 20%, Advise New Measures inpolicies/plans/programmes and Faciliate Replication/Scaling up

Duration: 3 yrs (June 2015 to May 2018)

Budget: 5 mn EUR+1.5 mn EUR for augmenting the activities for controlling industrial pollution toRiver Ganga.

Partners: MoEFCC, GoI and GIZ are the main project partners. (Implementation Agreement signedon 16th June 2016). CPCB a technical arm of MoEFCC, playing an important role.

Modernisation/Upgradation of CETP/ETPs, ZLD, Improve Conveyance/Drainage Solutions for up-gradation/modernisation solutions for CETP and ETPs (10 nos) , Design/redesign retrofitting of wastewater conveyance; storm water drainage, ZLD solutions - recycle/reuse of treated wastewater, Business and management model for CETP

Environment Improvement in IndustriesPromotion of BAT in industries (monthly meetings), Technical solutions from German experts (target – 50 industries of relevant sectors), Enable replication of successful models in IIE Haridwar and other industrial areas

Objective:

Promote Cross Learning and Implement Environmental friendly improvements through Facilitation teams

Three teams has been constituted:

• Facilitation Team - Water Pollution Reduction (waste water reduction, treatment, recycle and reuse)

• Facilitation Team – Cleaner Production in Industries

• Facilitation Team - Environmental Drives and Outreach

These three committees will meet on monthly basis and invite industries to participate in the discussions and will identify measures that could be implemented and would follow-up to showcase success stories.

• As an outcome of a 6-day skills development course conducted by GIZ underthe “Sustainable and Environment-friendly Industrial Production” (SEIP) projectfor selected technicians and helpers working at the industrial wastewatertreatment plants.
